  • Hey guys!
Long story short I started healthy eating on Monday and I am eating rigidly! I planned on doing this every day until I came across the 5:2.
I am starting my first fast day tomorrow and I just wondered as it is only 500 calories does it make much of a difference what those calories are made up from?
I understand that just because things are the same calorific values that it doesn’t mean they do the same thing to your body etc but was thinking on one of the fast days it could be an opportunity to have say a choc bar or a bag of crisps? Make me look forward to the fast day rather than dread it? I would obviously be eating really healthy the other 5 days, would this still work as effectively? Or am I best to still eat healthily? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys and good luck 🙂 🙂

The only rule for 5:2 is 500 calories on a FD and normal eating on other days. If you want to eat junk that is up to you.
I wouldn’t call a chocolate bar or a packet of crisps junk, but they are not very satisfying for the number of calories they contain so you might struggle to stick to 500 calories.
