tell us about what you have eaten on your Fast days and your calorie count for the other days (have you checked you TDEE) have you taken your measurements ?
. How much weight do you have to lose ?–if it is only a few kgs then sometimes it takes awhile.
Have you read the book and the numerous stories in these threads?–
this is not a fast weight loss programme.
OK. It’s best to limit carbs on fast days… or any day for that matter.
Are you a vegetarian or vegan?
I think there’s a phrase they even use that suggest that protein and veggies is really what you should be eating. That’s why they tend to tout soups (without pasta) as great fast day meals because soups can be packed with lots of veggies and some protein and feel quite satiating.
What you need to generally know is that when you eat carbs, your body will use that as fuel instead of using the fat on your body as fuel. It’s more complicated than that, but, in general that’s the case.
Beans are good, but I tend to think of and use them more of a “carb” than a “protein”. Beans have protein and lots of fiber, but they also have carbs. The fiber in the beans helps the carbs burn slower in your system, (so they’re less likely to raise your insulin level’s too quickly) so, overall they’re a healthy choice… but they’re not exactly like having pure protein.
It’s not that this is a LOW carb diet, but carbs really do slow down the weight loss process and it’s wise to be mindful of them.
