Food intervals on fasting days

  • Just starting out on the 5:2 diet.

    If my fast day was a Thursday for example….my last meal would be Wednesday 8pm.
    I would only have diet drinks and chewing gum throughout the day.
    Then dinner on Thursday at 8pm, for 500 calories.

    Does this sound about right?

    There are many different ways to consume your fasting calories. You will need to find what works for you. I like to save up my calories for one meal if I do not exercise that day, but if I swim the morning of a fast day, I need to eat breakfast, even if it is just a small one. Some people have three small meals. Many people like just one big meal. I’ve been on this diet for about 5 weeks and my fasting days are still evolving.
