  • I’m working away from home on my next fast day (tomorrow!) so won’t be able to have one of my normal tin of beans/poached egg/omelette/stir fry tea. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can go for a 500 cal meal? suggestions for a chain would be good, (i normally try and avoid them but I am not sure what i’ll be able to find where I am going…

Marks and spencer do good meals!!

When I am away from home and need to do fasting on fast food, it can be tough. I stick to Subway (veggie delight-all veggies, no sauces or cheese). It’s about 330 calories or I will do a BK veggie without cheese and sauces and that’s about 400 calories. I will keep the rest of my calories low for breakfast and supper and I do just fine with that.
In some locations, Culvers has a veggie burger and it’s about 400-500 calories. It’s absolutely delicious too.

Faced with this last night. Went to Applebee’s and had 1/2 spinach/strawberries/chicken salad. 270 calories without dressing, 340 with! It was good. Find that most chains publish on-line menu/calorie info and you can tune dishes by skipping carbs, sauce, etc…

Subway’s chopped salads are a great choice!! THe Club is 160 calories (b4 dressing which is 35 more), and sometimes I can’t even finish it!!!
