  • Just started on Monday, this is my second, consecutive day on fast diet. I did it before for six weeks when the diet first appeared on shelf. However, i didnt feel i did it properly and am back to give it another try. Yes, its hard but bearable. If it was too easy, everyone would be doing it. I was wondering, if anyone thinks knocking off a stone in 7 weeks of fast diet is impossible? I would just love to be able to get into my jeans before my summer holiday.

love and good luck to all fast dieters.

    Hi Blueberry,

Your goal is challenging, but doable! (I have the same goal) I would encourage you to set weekly goals, track calories on fast and non-fast days, try 4:3, drink lots of water, eliminate alcohol, move lots, and watch carbs carefully. Check out the Fast beach Diet, which is a stricter 6-week IF plan. ALso look at some other threads here, particularly those with Fast Beach in the title, and the “Lose 2 ponds per week, Join Jojo in this quest” thread.

Thanks, I will try the fast beach diet. 3 days fast will hurt for awhile but i will probably get used to it.

I agree with ply, blueberry. You are talking 1kg a week which is what both my husband and I lost for the first few months of 5:2.
We ate well under 500 cal on fast days (I allowed myself less than 400) and we were very careful on other days. Had no bread, cheese, pasta, rice, potatoes for months. We DID have a glass of wine every non fast day though.
We stopped having any snacks, so just 3 meals on normal days and always veg heavy.
We introduced a lot of fish (bbq’d, steamed in a parcel, smoked, whatever for variety) as well as prawns with salads. We always had blueberries and strawberries in the house for a little treat at the end of our evening meal.
He lost 30kg, I lost 26kg doing this. We have had no trouble maintaining this over a year later.
Use Mimi’s ideas in the recipe books and record your successes.
    Go for it! PVE :)i

Is that about 6 kg? I lost 10 kg my first 11,5 weeks, så yes it is possible to lose about a kg pr week! 🙂

I have done a lot of running, fast days and feast days equally, 10-22 km a week. That has relly helped speed up weight loss. At the most I lost 2,2 kg in a week (after a plateau, though.)

    Best of luck 🙂

I think it can be done from what I have read so stay positive!

I’ve just done a practice run this week really just to see if I could survive being at home all day with my baby and not raid the fridge and I’ve done well so I’m starting officially this coming Monday and I’d love to lose as much a possible in the next 7 weeks too as I’ll be going back to work then and would love to fit back in to my clothes comfortably seeing as I’ll be in the office all day and not in my home clothes!!

    Good luck!!!

Blueberry, did you achieve your goal? I’ve set out to do the same ready for christmas. Just coming to the end of my first week (after a break) and have lost 5lbs!! I’m not going to weigh myself again for another 10 days because I do realise that this massive loss in just a few days could be due to water loss although yesterday was not a fast day. I’m encouraged though. I feel like I can do this. I MUST keep away from the scales however.
