  • I hope everyone is doing well.

I’ve just joined the forum and I am super excited to start this new journey. I have done fasting before and it worked but for some reason I didn’t stick to it. This time, I am determined to make it work and adopt a new lifestyle that will work for me.

I look forward to reading success stories and be part of the fasters’ community!

    Beatriz

Hi Beatriz. I’m new to the forum too. I don’t have any pearls of wisdom yet but, like you, I am attracted to the idea of a lifestyle change that will work for me. Hope IF goes well for you.

Looks like September is the start for 3 of us. Like youBeatriz I have done intermittent fasting before and it did work – so why did I stop? Hoping to lose about 2 stone and would like to get close to goal by Christmas so am also trying to eliminate added sugar from my diet. I remember that has worked in the past as well.

Last do it this time. Looking forward to hearing all of our success stories.

Hello @crumpet and @carolsu. Thanks for your messages, they are very encouraging!

Just to let you know, we are not alone, there is another group/post proposing a monthly challenge for September 2018, here is the link https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/september-2018-monthly-challenge/

I am starting my fasting journey today!

Super that all 3 of you are starting together. Welcome. I’ve been Fasting for 5 years and find it to be excellent at losing weight and keeping it off.

What made you stop Fasting in the past? I’m curious…
some tips: >plan what you are going to eat and shop in advance
    >hide any foods that are low in nutritional value
    >eat lots of wholesome food: vegetables, fruit
    >protein-rich meals [eggs for breakfast, lean meat or Omega-3 fish for dinner] keep you feeling full
    >keep busy on Fast Days
    >keep thinking about your goal

Today’s menus: Zucchini-Egg Bake and a Labor Day Picnic of hotdog, deviled egg, grilled tomato, and 3-bean salad.

Well done! 5 years, that’s amazing.

I can’t recall any particular reason for stopping. Perhaps I wasn’t in the mindset of doing it as a lifestyle and doing it more as a temporary fix. Perhaps life got on the way, which is a lame excuse but something we can all relate too if you don’t keep up with things.

Whatever the reason was, now that I have come across the 5:2 book and have realised that fasting can be as normal as you want it to be, I will be more conscious about it.

Many thanks for the tips. Today’s my first FD 500 and will be doing just one meal. I’ll have salmon, broccoli, cottage cheese, a pear and strawberries, all ready to go for 8pm tonight!

I’ve also done my HIT and strength training this morning, so far so good!

How did it go, Beatriz? Your Fasting sounds like a Feast!! Yummy.

Fasting today: Mushroom & Ham Omelette for breakfast. Lamb kabobs for dinner.

Hi! the first day went well. I felt a bit of hunger but nothing major. Today was my 2nd FD and felt hunger too but managed to keep busy with my tutoring and other things.

Your menu sounds really good too!

Good job on your 2nd day, Beatriz.
