Morning – today is my first day on 5:2 – hoping for great things! Any hints and tips??

Lots of liquids…. If you’re starting with a fast day, plan your calorie intake, and other than that every time you feel hungry have a drink. For me currently it’s fizzy water and decaf black coffee, but others have favourite herbal teas or very low calorie broths. Personally I find it easier to skip breakfast, and 4 months in I’m just not hungry most mornings (unless I’m particularly sleep deprived), so don’t eat until late morning even on none fast days.
But read the forums, there is a really good newbies hints thread, and the challenge threads are generally full of good advice.
Experiment – the more you read of the forums, the more you will realise that the great thing about this is how much you can adapt it to suit your own circumstances, and your own body.
I would also recommend you get a tape measure out and take some basic measurements, as sometimes the inches go before the pounds if you’re aiming for weight loss.
