What is the best way of fasting?

  • I was thinking of having a Slimfast milkshake morning and evening and drinking lots of water through the day. What have you found works best for you??

    I have been cutting down for two weeks but starting today have decided to go back on the 5:2 diet as l previously lost over 2st on it. This time l am trialling having two well know diet milkshakes on my Fast days…how do others manage their fast days? When is the best time to eat and what is most filling??? 🙂

    You can eat whenever you want on your diet days, and anything you want, too, as long as you stay under the 500 cal. limit. However, many find that eating one evening meal high in fat and protein works best. You will find you really won’t be that hungry throughout the day, and the evening meal may help you sleep better. Many find that if they eat early in the day, and especially if that meal includes a lot of carbs, they become very hungry and stay hungry, making the diet day very rough.

    Many thanks 🙂 l was really hungry tonight, and with only 270 calories left (after the slimming milkshake at breakfast) l made a big bowl of salad with pickled veg, salad beans and a tiny bit of tuna in brine. I have gone to bed early to stop myself nibbling! Next Fast day is Thursday. I will try to keep all 500 calories for the evening……roll on breakfast!! lololol…

    That is the trick isn’t it … lots of very low calorie (salad) ingredients… have you tried juicing them?
