Fast Diet and Arthritis

  • Can the fast diet help with arthritis? I have severe arthritis in my feet/ankles and am keen to minimise the pain. Does anybody have experience of this?

    As I wrote in response to the post in your other thread, any burning in my joints has eased. My knees can now bear all my weight in a squatting position, pain free! I don’t see that the swelling in my joints has reduced, though the fact that my joints no longer ‘burn’ or ache feels miraculous!

    My arthritis in my feet is much better since I have lost the weight…it still flares up occasionally but I have noticed it more recently in the cold weather.

    I have reduced taking my painkillers and take them very rarely now.

    Over the last year I have lost 33 lbs.

    I have also stopped taking my reflux / GERD tablets from the doctor which I had been on for 5 years.

    Arthritis is inflammation of the joint for which one can feel symptoms like pain and/or stiffness in the joints. Arthritis is mostly reported by the elderly people, aged 50 years and above. It can be classified as degenerative and infective, both being different medical conditions to be treated in different therapeutic methods.

    I will always have mod to severe arthritis in my right knee but losing 14 kg has made it less painful. Getting my bmi down to 21/22 from 23 will also take even more pressure off and delay the need for surgery and also give time for more research treatments to be developed.

    That’s right, weight in arthritis is important. I lost 17 kg.
