  • Hello!
I’ve been following this plan for about 2 weeks now and none of the weight loss is actually sticking, perhaps my body is still getting used to it?

For example..my fast days are Monday and Thursday. On Friday morning I weighed myself and recorded the number. This morning I find myself 6 pounds heavier..exactly where I had started. I was very careful with my intake on the nonfast days; I ate 1600 calories each day. Does it take a while for your body to accept this way of eating? I do have to say that I was sick this week and didn’t exercise the way I normally do. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

    Thanks for any input!

    Hi Theo,
    Yep..sounds familiar!
I’ve noticed that if I stick to my TDEE as calculated on the site I gain weight.
So now I’ve calculated on the least active level: sedentary AND I’ve entered my goal weight, not my current weight.
I now have about 350 calories on a fast day and 1300 max on a non-fast day. Works just fine and the weight is coming off. With a bit of planning you’ll be amazed at the amount you can eat!
Everybody has a different approach and experience on 5:2. It’s a matter of finding what works for you. Just stick to it and you’ll succeed!!
    Good luck!
