    Hi Cherry,

It may be a mistake to focus on quick results rather than on just results.

Whilst fasting is most certainly a good thing, it is not the same experience for everyone, particularly if you have a fatty liver and/or have been eating a mostly carbohydrate-based diet prior to starting to fast. In the latter case, you will probably have what may seem like withdrawal symptoms from, and very strong cravings for, carbs.

Many people experience that the first few fasts can be a bit challenging, and the danger is that if you do too much too soon, you may be quite challenged such that you might give up altogether.

Try out the 5:2 diet as has been recommended in the book initially, and if everything goes alright, then think about how you might accommodate 16:8, or even going on a 4:3 fast for even quicker results.

In this way, you give yourself a chance to understand more how your body adjusts to fasting, and what your tolerances are. As the saying goes, ‘learn to walk before you start to run’.

Whatever you do – yes, get started – all the best!
