  • Is there anyone like me who hasn’t lost any weight in first 2 weeks of their fasting.I’m really not sure what went wrong.Suggestions would be appreciated.
I am only wondering is it my 1200 cal on non fasting day and 500 cal on fasting day which is not helpingg me???

It does sound unusual. I haven’t got scales, but I could tell I lost weight in the first couple of weeks because my clothes got looser.

Hang in there, you are sure to notice differences soon. Your body is going through all sorts of changes. I bet at the end of another two weeks you will notice you have lost some weight. Good wishes.

Thanks Cinque for your kind response.I will try next 2 weeks and see if it makes difference.I was really hoping maximum difference in the first 2 weeks like others.

I would measure. I’m willing to bet you have lost cm or inches

I wish I had..but after reading lot of posts I’ve started feeling it’s not just me..I may start feeling difference in 8 weeks time.

    Fat_burner,

I’m afraid you need to give us a bit more information about you if you want help and advice, e.g. height, weight, age, eating habits, activity levels, health issues.

    Hello HappyNow,
    I’m 30 years old, 5″0 ,55kg.
I work in IT industry so mostly stick to desk 8:30-4:30…lunchtime I go for 40 mins brisk walk twice a week that’s all what I do in the name of exercise. .Aiming to lose around 5-7kgs to get into my pre pregnancy weight and shape..Also my main issue is mummy tummy even after 2.5 yrs of my delivery ?
I eat 1200 call rest 5 days ,2 eggs in breakfast, 1 apple,1 orange in snacks, 2 cups of green tea, 1 cup of latte, chicken stir fry or salmon in lunch..dinner veg/chicken/lamb curry and rice/chapati..
Hope this gives you a rough idea of my daily routine.
And yes, I do take thyroxine tabs..hyperactive thyroid..

    Hi Fat_burner,

From what you say,you aren’t actually overweight. You might be heavier than you were, but you’re not overweight.

I don’t have any experience of thyroid problems so I can’t comment there.

However, you aren’t very tall, you don’t weigh very much, and you aren’t very active. Consequently your TDEE is quite low. The average weight loss on 5:2 is slightly less than 1lb per week for a woman. If you do the maths for you (how many calories you can cut fasting two days a week vs how many calories equals 1lb), then you’ll probably see that you’re doing about as well as you could expect? The people who see really big losses initially are generally considerably taller and very much heavier than you.

Think proportionally, and hopefully you’ll see that you’re doing as well as could be expected!

    Hi HappyNow,

Thanks for your analysis and advice ,very logical.
I’ll stick to it for a few months to see the result..
