  • I purchased the book, read it and have found that this diet 5:2 is an essential part of life! The reason I say this, is I have a similar affinity with Michael Mosley, my father died when he was 60 yrs and it was due to Dense Low-Density Lipoprotein Particles or LDL which its otherwise abbreviated. This I believe in turn caused Ischemic Heart Disease which ultimately killed my father. Now because at the time the Doctors when questioned said it was his high blood pressure and diabetes, which in turn had diseased his heart. For a long time, many individuals back in the 60’s ate what was available, much of the food contained high levels of fat, and in turn can cause high cholesteral which is where the predictive levels of LDL levels could be responsible for the effect on my fathers lifestyle. We know an awful lot more now about diets, and BMI although, having dieted most of my life and been up and down on the weight, feel that the only way to demonstrate sound results without compromising losing healthy muscle, is to do this diet 5:2 which I’ve started this week. I’m lucky enough to have a husband who like me, struggles with our mid life weight, and so he has agreed to join with me, bonus, now only have to cook fresh meals the same for each of us! The benefits of how this will work out is also highlighted by a friend of mine who tried this diet last year, outstanding results, and what a great effect its had on her as well as her husbands health. Feeling more energetic and much more alert in general. This is the feeling I wish to have when playing with my grandchildren is to have the energy and flexibility to engage with them in their activities! We all have to admit sometimes that the things we put ourselves through is all avoidable, and I’m sure that if my father had known about the effects of his condition was having, he would have joined in this healthy lifesyle programme, which can be a way of life for the future for most of us, he may still have been here with us now! My Mother also died of congestive heart failure, so they both may have been here still? All I know is that from evidence of my friends and the amount of weight lost, all areas of their lives have been benefitted, just like I wish to be a part of with my family for many years to come, thank you again Michael and the Fast Food Recipe book has just arrived now from Amazon, so up to now since beginning of this week, I’ve been preparing healthy options from past experience, I can feel some benefits already and my mind feels a lot lighter too!

    Hi faster and welcome:

Here is some information on 5:2 – some of which is not in the ‘book’, but still helpful: https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/
