  • Hi All
I started the 5.2 last wednesday, wednesday was my 1st fast day of 500 cals and then I had around 1800 to 1900 cals as per the bmi chart for the rest of the week. I have lost 2 inches from my body but not lost any weight. I have read the book and it says that it takes time for the scales to show, is this correct or am I doing something wrong?. I did a fast day yesterday, normal today and tomorrow and fasting again on Thursday, I do feel better in myself, more energy.

I lost alot of weight at my local slimming club but found it hard this year to lose the weight I had put on at christmas and after christmas so only have around 10 lbs to lose.

I started the fast diet after a friend told me she had done so well on it.

Hi, just to advise my BMI is 25.1, my BMR is 1442 and my TDEE is 1983, I tend to average around 1800 calories per day as I record what I eat, am I eating too much, any help would be appreciated, many thanks

    Hi Snookums
Don’t despair, it sounds like you are doing everything right! It took me 3 weeks to see any weight loss when I started! Mind you, my BMI then was 35.5 , not 25 like yours,. My BMR and TDEE are the same as yours now that I am 20kg lighter, but my BMI is still too high at 29.5.
    Persevere! It will eventually happen!

    Hi
Thank you, I am loving this 5.2 diet as all that extra food I can eat, before I was only eating about 1300 cals a day for my weight even to budge. Fasting again Thursday so weigh in again on Friday to see if its made a difference and weigh day will be every Friday

I am finding that I gain weight unless my caloric intake on non fast days is quite low. My BMI is: 25.1, by BMR is: 1402 and my TDEE is: 2173 calories. I have to go below my BMR to lose weight or to stay the same weight.

I think it has to do with my age – 53. My metabolism is slow despite participating in high intensity exercise, along with an hour of bicycling at an easy rate. I am not sure how much the calculator takes the weight loss resistance a middle aged woman may have.

I would love to eat what I want, but I gain weight that way.

Hopefully, this is not the same with you.
