  • Hello All, I recently watched Mike Mosley’s broadcast on fasting and health and I had my first fast day yesterday. I have a question: Today is a ‘normal’ eating day and I am wondering if I can eat my usual snack tonight of potato chips (low sodium) and yogurt dip (I make myself, using fat free yogurt). I LOVE, LOVE LOVE potato chips and not sure that I can make it without them! They are truly a guilty pleasure though because I know that chips are ‘loaded’ with fat and carbs. What do you think? I want to lose 8 pounds, that’s my goal.

Hi chipper, you can have everything you want on your feeding days as long (!) as you stay under your TDEE!

On the other hand what helped me over the last 4 months is to clean up my eating habits, big time. No more my beloved Coke…no more coffee, hardly ever ice cream, no more white rice and pasta, no more pizzas…and many more, but the above are the ones that were the hardest for me!

I really “try” to eat as clean as possible, very rarely fast food or processed food, but then I do have occassionally (!) exceptions. I have just been away on vacation and it was hard to keep to my routine, but surprisingly I did NOT gain weight.

The next three days I will be on vegetable juices (homemade) just to give my system a rest.

Everybody here has their own way of how following the 5:2 diet and you can certainly adjust it to your needs.

    Best of luck
    Stef.
