  • My Father-In-Law bought the book and started last week. He is obese and is looking forward to losing weight from the 5:2. I am more after the idea of postponing Alzheimers as I haven’t much weight to lose. I am not a foodie so the fasting is pretty easy for me, well, so far, anyhow.

I last ate at 18h30 Wednesday, I’ll be eating my small lunch at 12h30 today, and then don’t plan on eating anything else until breakfast tomorrow at 6h30.

I’ve been drinking a lot of water.

Welcome to the 5:2 Way Of Life (WOL)! There are heaps of FAQs on this site and many very wise members 🙂 I am fairly new at it myself ( started in Jan this year), but have lost a fair amount of weight so far and blood glucose levels improved. So it does work.

If you feel a bit off / dizzy / headachey during your first few fasts, don’t worry, the body loses a lot of salt, so a mid-day top-up with a salty drink ( Bovril broth/Miso Soup/Marmite broth etc) help with this.
I also felt sleepless the first few fasts, but this soon changed as the body adjusted.
Wish you success in your goals 🙂

Thanks Lotus123, it is 19h57 now so a about seven and a half hours since last I ate and it is harder as compared to the seven hours since the previous time I ate. Slight head ache but I am going to see it through until breakfast tomorrow.

I don’t have any short term goals so I can’t help but succeed.

@philplasma – How is the fasting going? Are you finding it easier now? How has your FIL been doing?
