  • Hi everyone! I’m a 41 year old teacher and Mam of 1 from South Wales. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue compounded by food sensitivities. My new year resolution was to pinpoint those sensitivities and try to get to grips with the fibro once and for all through my diet. Then I read something about the success with 5:2 for inflammation and cognitive dysfunction so I thought I’d give it a go! I was, and am, terrified at the very thought of being hungry. The first day though was surprisingly easy. The second less so 😀 But I now weigh three pounds less and goodness knows I could lose a stone or two!
Anyway, hello and hopefully this is the start of something good!

hi Iseult and welcome to the forum!

well done on your first fast and loss too, brilliant!! may it continue, it does get easier so keep with it 🙂

Thanks Angie! I’m pretty keen now. What put me off this diet when I first heard of it was the knowledge that I would just binge on the off days and ruin it. I don’t have a healthy attitude to food, let’s say! But I’ll give it a go and try to stay in my TDEE… easier now I’m gluten and dairy free of course 😀

    Good stuff Iseult!!

let us know how you get on 😉

Hi I too have fibro and pbc which makes excercise difficult hoping to lose about three stone with this regime.

Third fast today. Why is it so scary? 😀

bloody hell it was so hard today :S

I’m so annoyed about it I’m thinking of doing another fast day tomorrow to prove to myself that I’m the one in control. That’s stubborness for you 😀

Hi Iseult, I have just joined today as I started the 5:2diet last week and lost 2kg!

I love food too, but have lost nearly 5st in the past year. I was worried about feeling hungry on my 2 restrictive days, but all is good so far.

    Good luck with it!

2kg? Wow that’s great! Well done you! 5st is amazing. I’m in awe!
