  • Hi all fasters!

Today is approximately my 8th fast day – I started in December, then had to have some time off in January due to surgery. Usually I do Monday and Thursday but on this week Wednesday suited me better as I work part-time and I find it much easier to fast on workdays.

I’m 33 (ugh!) and I have a BMI of around 30 right now (another ugh!) so losing weight is a goal – I don’t actually know how much I may have lost already as I didn’t weigh myself in the beginning (serious dislike of scales lol) but my clothes are definitely looser.

I find fasting quite easy, I’ve never been a breakfast person and I don’t really get hungry until the afternoon. On my fast days I usually go until about 6 pm without any calories, just trying to drink lots of water, then have a coffee with some cream (about 70 calories), followed by a 400-calorie meal around 8 pm. I find it really feels amazing to eat my fast day meal, it tastes better and I appreciate food a lot more – it’s different when you’re not granted instant gratification! My biggest problem is feeling freezing cold on fasting days – I’m in Finland and it’s cold here! Do people in warmer climates feel cold too? Any tips to that other than wearing the entire contents of my wardrobe?

Anyways, just wanted to say hi to you all, I love this forum and have spent lots of time reading the posts. Keep on going everyone! Only three hours until my coffee!

I agree with you- fast days are not that difficult, especially once you complete the first one. I have found my fast days to be extremely easy as I’ve gotten further into my plan. Usually I’ll have one time during the day where I’m hit with a hunger pang. When that happens I just drink a cup of green tea and it goes away. I’ve also noticed that I feel incredible the day after a fast. Sometimes I need to stop myself from fasting two days in a row!. Good luck with everything!

Hi Yes, it does appear that some people do feel cold. I get very cold hands.
    Good luck 🙂

Thanks Jetsman21 and GymJames! The hot coffee helps with feeling cold, if I didn’t absolutely loathe black coffee I would have more of that during the day but I prefer to be calorie-free until the evening. So lots of clothes and blankets it is:)

Today’s dinner is going to be about 100 grams of mince with a big bunch of veggies, seasoned with a little salt and a couple drops of Tabasco to boot. I find it easier to eat pretty much the same foods on my fast days so this is a regular, on Mondays I usually have an Indian frozen ready meal of 410 calories – perhaps not the healthiest choice but filling and delicious. I have read here that people recommend no carbs on fast days; the Indian does have some rice but I haven’t had problems with it.
