  • Hello!
I started yesterday (my first fast day) so today I enjoyed my latte enourmously! My first fast day was really okay, it was amazing being able to push through knowing that today would be a normal day. The other fabulous thing was that I have a big week with exams and dinners out, so straight away I was able to employ the flexibility allowed in this lifestyle change. So this week, I am fasting Sunday and Wednesday, but will get on track for my Monday and Thursday next week 🙂

About me, I am 47, pretty healthy, but have Hashimoto’s thyroid disease (well controlled). I am not largely overweight, but I have steadily gained kg’s and finding very difficult to remove these with my previous habits. I am 165cm, and most of my life weighed about 54-56kg. However, this weight now proves to be elusive, but I am hoping to get down to at least 58 kg. I am currently 64kg. So not a lot to lose, but stubborn middle-aged spread is tricky!!

My other hopes are to regain my self-confidence in wearing whatever I want and not feeling uncomfortable in my own skin, as well as better sleep (as I am also cutting alcohol mostly) and to just feel more clear-minded.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to chatting with some of you along the way.

    Hi Neptune, Welcome!

It sounds like you’ve made a good start on 5:2! Like you, I adjust my FDs depending on what I’ve got on each week. This week I’m fasting today and will again on Saturday.

I’m a relative newbie myself since I only started 5:2 a month ago. Like you, I have Hashimoto’s. I’m about the same height as you are and also weighed around the same as you for most of my adult life. I’m a 59 year old who lives in Australia.
