Well, where do I start? As the Red Queen said, “Begin at the beginning and stop when you get to the end…” or something like that! I am a 62 year old (and how did that happen?) female. I now live on Spain´s glorious northern Costa Blance. As I type this, I weigh an horrendous 113kilos. Aaagh.
I am trying this diet less in hope than despair. I was a tiny baby, but after a bout of hospital-serious diarrhoea when I was ONE YEAR OLD, my mother fed me. So I was a podgy toddler. The school nurse put me on a strict diet when I was SIX. My father died when I was EIGHT, so comfort eating (sod the Nurse) kicked in with a vengeance. So, in a nutshell I have been fat/overweight/obese for 61 years.
Have I dieted? You betcha! I´ve tried every diet under the sun, literally. You get through a lot in 60-some years, believe me. A lot worked, but as soon as I camo off them, I put all the weight I had lost back on, and then some. I now find that if I don´t watch every mouthfull that passes my lips, I get fat(ter). And no, I do not have a thyroid/hormone problem. I had the tests not long ago. Healthy. Not fit, but healthy. So, I shall give this a go. What he hell; what do I have to lose? Oh, only about 30kilos….
