  • Hi there! I’m new to this forum although I did try 5:2 about 2 years back. My husband and I went on a trip to the UK and I read about it there and did 5:2 for about 2 months and lost 15 pounds. Then had some really bad stuff happen personally and lost another 10 without trying. Once i felt better the weight piled back on and now I’m back where I started….but I’m committed to getting to my goal this time. I started this week and already down 5.2 pounds!! I’m 5’8″ and usually fast on M and W but sometimes tweak it a little depending on social obligations.

    Number of fasts completed: 2
Number of fasts to go: 84
    Starting Weight: 208
    Current Weight: 202.8
    Goal Weight: 160
    Pounds to go: 42.8
Target Date to hit goal: 6/1/2016 (about a pound per week or ~84 fasts!)

Once I hit goal I will transition to 6:1

I hope to log in weekly for updates and inspiration 🙂

    Hello DJsMom…
Glad to have you on the forum. I have wanted to tune into another from the U.S. I also live in Washington state only in Yakima. My husband and I saw a PBS show with Michael Mosley showing the different science involved in 5:2. We decided to try it for life. We are older, 70. So I am on a thread “All ladies of a certain age”. We like 5:2 very much. We began in Aug 2013 and have reached our goals. We noted that to maintain we must continue on 5:2. That is likely because of pretty much eating as we like on the 5. On a holiday last Dec we did 6:1 and took about 1 week to return scales to what we weighed before Dec. I really like it and he agrees it is an easier way to keep weight off. Hope you are successful again! Pea Jay
