  • Day 19 NZ FD 69.7kg🔺🏃🏼‍♀️

    Y’day’s number was a blip!! I was starving when I woke up…
I had the Texan over and made a thick spicy bean soup and cornbread so I’m up and over on the weight front!! All will be revealed after today’s FD which is non negotiable!!
@iona72 I’m hooked on Waffle too… esp bad once I realised you can retry for the perfect solution…
    What is RW&P??
We had a day of great rugby and rugby league here on Saturday. Black Ferns vs Canada was a tough exciting game ending in a 27 all draw…
    Have a good day everyone!!

    Day 19…..UK…..FD

Looking forward to today’s FD, routine is definitely working – although I do have a couple of non-usual weeks coming up with trips away and people over so will likely need to adjust my FDs around all of that. Planning and check-ins here is key – the checking in really works.

I do log on on my phone over weekends and read your updates, I’m rubbish at posting though on phone so tend not to – thank you to those of you who do post at the WE as it certainly helps.

Considering starting some form of exercise – find the getting started bit the hardest, what do you all do to make yourself take that first step?

Have a fab Monday all 🙂

    Day 19-No.VA USA-NFD
I am still here! Enjoying some lovely weather, puttering in the garden this weekend; had a dance recital to attend on Saturday out of town. It was amazing the energy of the girls (no boys this year for some reason). We attend due to young relative involved. Troupe is not that good, but I really feel the teaching is the problem; certainly the students have the potential. But anyway, all was good till the drive home, with some pretty bad traffic to contend with; unfortunately a problem here in Northern VA and near DC, as I am sure @ccco would attest to.
I hope everyone is well; it seems everyone is busy!
Off to work today! Not retired yet!

    Day 19 – USA/GA – FD

Weigh-in: 242 lbs. Yeah, yesterday was disastrous. Lots of food and sweet baked goods. I went off the rails with much larger portions than what was reasonable, and leftovers to boot. I craved some more of that delicious super sweet stuff in the evening, which toppled any maintenance I could have pulled off. Got to refocus for the rest of the week before the time off next week. Might be my last vacation at the company, as the bill that eliminates our department goes to the House for a vote this week. Hopefully, there will be a lot of modifications to the bill that will save most of the program. It’s hard not to stay stressed out.

I will be back to responding to posts as soon as all my Spring yard work is all done. I even repainted some of my outdoor furniture. There’s so much to do, especially since my health didn’t permit me to do that last year!

Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

Day 19 – Rural Nebraska, USA – CD at the least, and perhaps less – 156.0

I have never hugged/been hugged so many times in one day as I was yesterday. The service was packed, everyone sang beautifully (a detail that always matters to an organist, of course), and the dinner afterward was a lovely time of visiting with people. There were some who showed up who astonished me (mostly from our congregation before DH went to seminary), and they were delighted to have surprised me, LOL. Then we came home and DSIL and DS33 loaded in the truck the little dorm fridge that we’ve been storing for DD, and then took the little dresser my dad made for my sisters and me when we were children, and that will all go home to Indianapolis with them. We spent the rest of the day in Lincoln at our new house, and I made Salmon with Creole Mustard Sauce, Maui Onion Rice, and a salad of broccoli, diced apple and carrot matchsticks with a (full fat, LOL) yogurt dressing. So, yes, two dinners, and then we walked two blocks to the ice cream store, but my portion was TINY.

And Friday’s dinner was absolutely glorious (yeah, @funshipfreddie, the prices are prohibitive for going very often, but we were given a $150 gift certificate last December), but I again ate very little; Saturday’s dinner was fried chicken, mac and cheese, and cole slaw (all purchased ready-prepared) but, again, I did eat large portions, and that was ALL I ate on Saturday. So being up roughly four pounds since my WF last Thursday has me puzzled. My best guess is that I’m up a bit because I’m no longer “empty” as I was on Friday morning, and I was up each morning because I ate so late in the evening all three evenings. Suppose?

So now the challenge is to figure out how to do 5-2 without the distraction of teaching piano lessons twice a week, making WFs easy–I don’t resume lessons until mid-June. It’s weird to consider doing a FD today since I’ve been doing Tues/Thur for so many years now, but it’s also logical since it’ll be a nice break from the full meals of the last three days. I’ll figure it out later.

I spent about five hours on Saturday unloading what I’d packed in my car, and putting away what had previously been taken to the house–it was absolutely tidy by the time I was done. (And then DD and her family arrived from Indianapolis around four o’clock, as they’d left at 5:15 that morning–that was the BEST part of the day! 😍😍😍😍😍) All told, I was up and down the stairs at the house about ten times on Friday and Saturday and Sunday, and my fitbit says I burned 2,000 calories or more on each of the three days. So, my activity plan for today is to be as busy as possible–which is not tough, given how much there is to pack up. Oh, and we have a moving date: on Thursday, May 29, a moving company will come to move our piano, a safe, and all the big, heavy furniture.

I just spent some time looking at the Facebook post from church of the service and of the dinner afterward, and decided this is as good a time as any to show pictures. So, here: https://www.facebook.com/stmatthewchurchcedarbluffs

Okay, some tidying is in order and then to start today’s packing effort. Have a grand one, everyone!

My focus today is making good choices at meal times so I can solidify my drop ie no extras!!
It’s cold and clear here so I’ll do a fast walk on my own today

@stitchincarol ❤️Loved seeing photos of your farewell and your church community gathered together for you and your DH. They must be so sad to see you both leave after 19 years… You have beautiful shiny hair!!
@jaifaim Welcome back!! We’re all still here!!
@northgeorgia 🤞for the bill vote for you. It must be so unsettling…

    Day 20 – Rural Nebraska, USA – CD or less – 154.6

Yesterday’s food was entirely reasonable, and I’ll do the same today. Packing is consuming most of the day and I’ll probably take a load down to the new house. DH has talked me into doing a garage sale on the 31st, and there’ll sure be lots of stuff at it; the challenge will be to deal with it at the end of the day when no one else wanted it! 😂

    @merryapple Nice loss!

We’ve gotten a bit over five inches of rain in the last 36 hours or so, a welcome blessing since we’ve been dry for a year. It’s also welcome because it’s too wet to do anything outside, but there’s so much that needs doing, and I feel guilty for ignoring…but there’s no guilt when it’s so wet and I couldn’t even if I wanted to! 😂😂😂

    Have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 21 NZ NFD 69.1kg🔺

Up a wee bit but the trend is🔻slightly🤣
It’s cold 13*C, clear and sunny here. I haven’t turned any heaters on yet. It’s not winter!!! And perfect for warm jerseys!!
@stitchincarol That’s a lot of rain at once!! But I guess your part of the world is flat. Here it would create brand new streams down the hillsides!!
I wish you every success with your garage sale!! What a relief it will be when the house is empty!!

@stitchincarol – nice pictures! I could only see two though, because I’m not on Facebook. I hope your rain stops soon & you can get back to moving your belongings. It really is eye-opening during a move to discover how much we accumulate?! And how many items we can’t let go of because, well, it might come in handy one day. Even if we haven’t actually laid eyes on it/them for months or years 😅

@merryapple – it’s cold here too! 13 C (feels like 10 C 🥶) 50 km/h winds. At least the rain has stopped & we’ve got some sun now. That’s a lovely picture of you in your shawl. My hands were very busy at the class yesterday. I grouted 12 coasters – a very messy job – & started working on 4 new ones. Handing them over to whoever buys them is going to be painful.

Hey guys….. didn’t mean to drop off the face of the earth. I’m still here, the last couple days I was not feeling well and took everything I had just to be me.
Still feel a bit funky but I am at least coming out of it.

I’m going to attempt today to return to civilization and I hope to get caught up with all the posts

Not sure if it will be a NFD, CD or FD, but it will be a day that’s for sure

    USA. Day 21. FD

Finally, I have finished all my outside gardening and work. I even painted two pieces of outdoor furniture. They look really nice now. This means I can spend more time doing everything else like playing golf and recently Mahjongg, American style. I just learned. This is also the time of year that I do all my medical appointments before the summer months. I am still doing the DASH diet but I had to give up replacing the salt with potassium replacements. My blood tests showed my potassium level to be abnormally high! Well, at least I tried. I just won’t use salt or replace it. I just found out that I don’t need the salt anymore and that I can now actually taste the food itself. I will take that as a win.

Welcome back Bert1802. I hope you fully recover very soon.

FUNSHIPFREDDIE, I am sure your coasters are just lovely. 👍🏻

In the meantime, I agree with everyone about trying to unload items you no longer need or want. I am a bit of a hoarder because I, too, keep thinking I will need something that I gave away. 😟

Day 21 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

The funeral is over and done with; I’ve stopped at home for a bit before walking up to the Legion Hall for the catered lunch. Tonight a friend is taking us out to dinner. Hopefully, my restraint of the last two days will help minimize the damage of two meals in one day, plus, I’ll limit my choices at each meal.

    @merryapple Your shawl is lovely!

I’m not sleeping well at all from the stress of trying to pack and sort through things and get rid of lots…I toss and turn as I think of what to pack and in what order, and eventually I give up, and pull out my Kindle. Gah. Those of you who have recently moved, or are preparing to do so, know the full pain of what I’m going through, LOL. At least I discovered the reason my back was hurting so much was because the sofa, where I normally sat in the evenings, had given up the ghost of providing any support; I’ve moved elsewhere in the living room for evening relaxing and I feel hugely better.

    Have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 22 NZ FD 69.1kg 🌋🏃🏼‍♀️

10*C 96% humidity 🥶 Walking at 9.30am, a whole hour later than usual!!
I forgot to say I made my skirt too, not that you can see it.!! It’s based on a kilt – wrap around with a fringe down the vertical edge. It’s a long midi length and I wear ankle boots and socks with it.
@funshipfreddie Letting go of things you make is hard, but then you make more!! I hope you’re documenting them so you can go back and look at the photos.
@stitchincarol I’m glad to hear you have found the source of you’re sore back… easily remedied too!! And sorry to read about your packing and unpacking dreams. You would think your dreamscape could find something more interesting to wake you up for!! At least you know why you’re having them and that they’ll resolve…
@brightonbelle I admire you for quietly editing your collections… I talk about it but definitely need more ACTION!!
@ccco Your salt/ potassium swap sounds somewhat dangerous. I’m glad you found out that your K+ was high via a blood test!!

    Day 22 – Ireland 🇮🇪 -NFD

I have not posted in a while, so busy in mornings now that I cannot post and then I forget!!! Still here with you guys, in Club Tortoise (Tortwa) and grinding on.

Weight not doing much, so won’t mention it. ☹️

I have taken today off. Some of you may remember I had a 17 year old cat Missie, and this day last year we unfortunately had to get the vet to our house and off she went over Rainbow Bridge. It was the best thing for her, but devastating for us. A year later, I am taking this day to relax and remember by poor old girl. I have a Little Missie day lily growing outside which should bloom soon, so a permanent reminder ☺️

Getting my hair cut soon, then a nice lunch in my garden quitely contemplating. Still doing 16:8, no bother to me now.

Have a great day all. Xxxx

    Day 22 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

@stitchincarol – I know just what you’re going through, I really do. When I was preparing to move about three years ago I couldn’t switch off & I had problems sleeping. I got tranquillisers & sleeping pills from the doctor. I stopped taking them after just a couple of days though, because they made me feel worse, & I nearly fell asleep while I was driving! 🤯 But looking back now, it seems ridiculous. It all worked out, & it will for you too! Maybe writing things down would help? To-do lists? My biggest headache was organising my cat’s move here, because I couldn’t have her with me in the car for the 13 hour drive.

@daffodil2010 – good to hear from you! I hope you enjoy your day off, despite the sad anniversary 🤗

@bert1802 – good to hear from you too; I hope you’re feeling 100% by now 🤗

@ccco – my coasters are stunning, though I say so myself! 😅

@merryapple – that’s true – I WILL make more! 😅 And yes, I’ve taken pictures of everything. But I need to slow down & just work on one thing at a time. The tiles, glue, paint etc are taking over, and I need to get a sideboard or some kind of unit, so that I can keep everything in one place.

Day 22 country west Australia EFSD!!! 84.5 kgs. Nuff said…..
Looking forward to a FD ( non-negotiable )tomorrow.
Unplanned lunch out today and the choice was between a sausage roll or a BLT – or I could have had nothing.
Chose the BLT which was heavily carb based as on Turkish bread but lots of lettuce, crisp bacon and no dressing so it was worse than I wanted but not as bad as anticipated… excuses…excuses…🙄🙄
@bert1802, so sorry to hear you have been unwell and hoping you continue to improve 💐
@daffodil2010, I am glad you can take the day to remember Missie.🐱Our pets are so dear to us.
I had my hair done today on a whim as I had to be in town for a few hours waiting for the car to be fixed and my lovely hairdresser was able to squeeze me in. It is now short and spiky in a ‘ wash and go’ cut which suits me perfectly on the farm.
@merryapple, your weather sounds awful !! It’s really windy here hoping for rain as it is so dry but I think the wind has simply blown the rainclouds away.😔 It is certainly wet on the west coast. Some places expecting 100 – 400 mls today/tonight on top of the floods they had yesterday 😱
@stitchincarol I hope you finally manage to get some sleep this week. 🙏 Glad you found the source of your back problem.
Would love some of your rain!! Perhaps not 5 inches in 36 hours!! But we are SO dry here.
@brightonbelle, yes It sounds as though many of us are trying to get rid of ‘stuff’.
I am off to a boot sale this weekend to try to sell/get rid of some of my excess clothes and knick knacks. I have several boxes of things to sell but it doesn’t seem to have made any impression…
@ccco what an accomplishment to have finished your gardening and painting of some of your outdoor furniture. Good luck with the dog-sitting.🐶
@northgeorgia, I hope the bill goes in favour of you and your project.🤞🤞 Enjoy your time off.
@funshipfreddie your coasters sound great. You’ll have to take some pics.

    Day 22 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 237 lbs. Got a little travel for work to do today, and a lot of travel with family to do this weekend 😉 My next FD is in June, so I’ll have to be mindful the rest of the month.

Day 22 – Rural Nebraska, USA – OMAD

Okay, NOW we’re retired. 🥰😃🥳🙌🙌🎈 DH was at church, doing his usual work hours on Mon and Tues, and the funeral was yesterday and took up much of the day with the long luncheon afterward, and that was the source of much of my stress, I’m sure, that he was still working. Today, we take another load down to the new house, and bring back the lawn mower because the lawn here needs it desperately.

Dinner out last night has been postponed to Friday, so I–miraculously!–weigh the same for a third day in a row. I said OMAD for today, but I may change my mind and eat a small lunch; I already know what I’ll have for supper, so I should be okay for total calories.

Thanks, @funshipfreddie, for your encouragement–and all of you, really. You’re right, I DO know it will all work out, but as a planner, I do better knowing exactly HOW it will all work out, you know? LOL, this is supposedly an easy way to move, but I’m beginning to think that perhaps it’s easier to pack everything all at once, move it, then unpack it all at once, instead of the piece-meal approach we thought was good. Who knows.

@daffodil2010 Good to hear from you! And the fact your weight isn’t “doing much” sounds good to me: you COULD have gained back all you’d lost so far! 👍💪

Okay, I’m off to start loading the car with as much as I can find to take down. Have a grand one, everyone!

Good day, everyone! It’s raining outside, so that means I have more time to write here today.

Stitchincarol, I commiserate with you about all that rain. We seem to be in the same situation. My son just told me that he and his wife took some things they didn’t need or want anymore to some kind of fair here where you can sell things rather than have a yard sale. I have never been to one but he said it went well. I guess that is a good idea because people are deliberately going there to buy something, although sometimes, if you live in a populated area, people can walk by a yard sale, become interested and just drop in. I hope your garage sale goes well. I have moved my family and myself a few times, so I know what an undertakinng that is. I wish you well.

Merryapple, I know you are right about that salt for potassium swap. It isn’t so popular here anymore but I thought I would give it a try. I am glad my doctor checked my potassium levels. In the meantime and I should not be surprised, after not using salt for a while, I don’t miss it, so I will move on with my DASH heart diet without it. I have become so sensitive to salt now that I immediately swell. That can’t be good! I am glad to see that you sew your own clothes. I did so when I was younger. I also liked designing my own from time to time. Today, however, so few people seem to sew, so I can’t find the quality and quantity of fabric I like, so I stopped. I would love to make something for my granddaughter, though. It would be special

FUNSHIPFREDDIE, my arhtritic hands don’t let me do much handwork anymore like you do. I did make some bracelets for my grandchildren recently in a jewelry makig class. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to handle the beads but I managed and I think they appreciated them. I used to knit at my church in a group who knitted for the homeless but I finally had to give that up, too. I still enjoy making flower arrangements. I take a class before every holiday, so I always have something for the occasion

NorthGeorgia, good luck on your next FD.

Lilymartin, thank you. This year I had double the work, since I was too sick last you to do all my daily spring jobs. It is such a feeling of accomplishment to finally have finished all that and my vegetables are getting so big already. I can’t wait to see the little faces of my grandchildren when we harvest them. This is a first for them and I think they will love it!

I hope you all are having a great day! 🤗

FD Friday upcoming and then I’m away for a few days in France, sightseeing…. just hope I can find enough options to keep me away from going completely bonkers on croissants….

have a good one all 🙂

    Day 22 NE England

I can’t seem to get back to normal after our trip away. Feeling generally a bit down, thinking about family members who have passed away lately, and worrying about elderly parents. I don’t seem to have much energy for anything.

@iona72 Post holiday blues must be a thing. I hope your parents are comfortable and cared for. Think of us shivering down here in the depths of the Southern Ocean and you might just feel brighter!!
@anicecupoftea You are so lucky popping over to France. All we can do is pop over to Oz with snakes and cane toads😬🤣 Oh and lovely people like @lilymartin and @penz and cuddly Koalas and Wombats😁 and Tasmanian Devils.
@ccco You are going to have so much fun in the garden with your grandchildren. You have done incredibly well post surgery with all you have achieved. BRAVO TO YOU!!
@stitchincarol Sending 💪 for all those boxes!! I don’t think there is any easy way to shift. But like @funshipfreddie says it will be over soon…

Got on here this morning and realized I never hit the post bottom yesterday….. lol is this a sign of me losing the last few marbles I have.
Today is going to be a FD or at least try my hardest.

Yesterday I had small bout of the illness that effected me last week. I had no illness sickness except I couldn’t keep my eyes open and super lethargic. So, while I being a bump on a log, I did some research and reviewed my food log.

Months ago, I found out that I have a gluten intolerance not celiac, so I’ve gone gluten free and started to feel a whole lot better but the doctor did say that once we removed gluten from my diet other intolerances could pop up and to keep a food diary. So I could spot any changes and make necessary changes to avoid feeling as horrible as I did which made me seek out medical advice.
The days leading up to my sleep for day’s episode, my food take while healthy, they were very heavy meals, items such as stuffed peppers, a large salad, etc.
then yesterday, I had a large breakfast which included eggs, hash and gluten free bread. Then the symptoms came back.
I didn’t actually start feeling better with the original illness until eating was too much work and ate very little. Yesterday was a NFD day and symptoms started again.
Conclusion, I have reached is that even on NFD, I have to watch my quantity consumption and eat smaller meals perhaps more frequently. Well that’s the plan anyways
So for the foreseeable future, I’m going to watch and track my food intake and see if my changes are effective.
Today is a FD and let’s see how this goes….

I hope everyone is doing well!

    Day 23 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 239 lbs. I might have time to check-in tomorrow, but if not, see you all in June 🙂

Day 23 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

My painful back has returned. Just too much lifting and carrying? Hopefully, because that will mean an end to the pain is in sight.

My weight is up half a pound this morning, but I’m going to weigh again in awhile and see if it has dropped. Dinner last night was actually a goodbye party with our circuit pastors and their wives, but I ate exactly what I’d planned (half a burrito, some chips and salsa, and a margarita, and two eggs for lunch), and my fitbit says I burned just shy of 2200 calories, so I’m not worried I did any actual damage. Tonight will be the bigger challenge because of the restaurant involved…

But first, it’s time to do more sorting and packing and head down to the new house to unload and put it away. We’re getting VERY impatient to get furniture down there!

This is my limit for posting on my phone. Have a grand one, everyone!

Stitchincarol, sounds like you are getting down to the nitty gritting with your move. Sorry about your back, though! When you get your furniture in there then you will feel like you finally have arrived!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day!

    Day 24 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 242 lbs. Fake weigh-in lol because it was late night eating perishables in the refrigerator and little sleep before the 8 hour drive down to Florida this morning/afternoon.

I’ll join you all again in June! @stitchincarol Hoping your back gets back to normal soon!

    Day 24 UK NFD

So pleased to see a very modest loss this week , my challenge is now to remain static over the weekend

    Have a good Saturday all

    Day 24…….Florida……NFD

    Good day my fine friends!

Today, was my one month weigh in and I’m happy to report a 4.6 loss on the scales! I will take it!
I had a good FD yesterday, today is an NFD but going to try and control the intake of foods.

It’s the holiday weekend, so not much is going on in my world just relaxing and enjoying my mini vacation from work and working on my little side hustle. something I really enjoy!

@northgeorgia…….. safe travels into Florida. Not sure where your headed but its been stupid hot down here lately and the humidity is a killer so please drink enough water.

    Well, I’m off
    Enjoy your weekend

    USA. Day 24. WFD

I can’t believe how close we already are to the end of May! Time does fly!

Today I am doing a WFD. I haven’t done one of those in a long time. I thought it was about time.

    Pocket List-Day 24

    @ccco

@northgeorgia, have a nice trip to Florida.

@brightonbelle, every bit counts. I keep going up and down. Frustrating.

@bert1802, I am spending the holiday the same way. Most of my family is out of town, so I, too, am spending a quiet weekend. I am also spending it babysitting my daughter’s dog, who is good company, even if I have to get up extra early to take her out.

For all Americans on board, Happy Memorial Day!

    Day 25 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

    @northgeorgia – safe travels 🚗

    @bert1802 – congrats on the 4.6 lb⬇! 🥳

    @stitchincarol – I hope your move is going smoothly & isn’t too stressful 🏡

    @ccco – I hope your Saturday WFD was a success? 🎯

Our last week of Motivated May – let’s make it count! 💪 Another glorious, sunny, late autumn day here, so I’m off for a long stroll. Happy S🌞nday!

    Day 25-No. VA USA-NFD
Fast Day tomorrow. Having a long weekend, doing lazy things around the house. Going to a tapas restaurant for lunch today with DH and DD. She lives north of us, near Washington.
Healthwise, weight is stable, but I am not losing this month. Perhaps a motivated fast day tomorrow will kick start things!

    Day 25 UK NFD

Like many of you off for a nice walk I’ll be on the list tomorrow 🚶‍♂️

I see everyone has planned a relaxing Sunday. Me, too!

    Have a great day!

    Day 25 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

Near the end of May alreadY. Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. I am relaxing and thinking positive thoughts ☺️

    Day 25…..Florida…..NFD

Another quiet day at home, we talked about going out for the day. I declined the opportunity, being the holiday weekend everything is going to be crazy busy and I just didn’t want to fight through the crowds.

Yesterday, I came in around 1500 calories for the day which for a NFD, not to shabby. Today, although a NFD, I don’t think it’s going to come in as good. I guess, I’m just gonna take the ups and downs, this is life.

    Well, I’m off….. have a great Sunday!

    Day 26 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 71.7 kg

I had a very easy FD, & we had a lovely summery autumn day when it reached a toasty 26 C. Cool & windy today. My weight’s creeping up, despite the good FD, so I’m aiming to be very disciplined for the final week of Motivated May 💪

I guess there won’t be a lot of fasting going on today? Memorial Day in the USA & a bank holiday in the UK. A pocket list of one so far for Monday….

    Day 26…… Florida……FD

Not much going on today just relaxing at home preparing for another week of work. It’s been a good weekend so far I don’t really want it to end but life must go on.

I plan on a FD today, not sure how difficult it will be but we’re gonna give it a chance

Yesterday, I watch this thing on you tube and the women on their video said……..”You need to show up today for the person you want to be tomorrow”.
That the only thing I really got out of the video but that saying really spoke to me.

So, my new goal in my journey is to show up today for the person I want to be tomorrow. I’m going to repeat this to myself every time something gets difficult or hard.

Hopefully just hopefully, my path gets an easier!
