  • Day 28-No. VA USA-FD800
Checking in for accountability today. What a chubby month this has been for me! I guess when I fall off the wagon, I have been cushioned by the extra three pounds or so…oh well, climbing back on today!

    Day 28 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 239 lbs. I made yesterday a FD500/800 (probably was like 525), so that should help get things going in the right direction.

Uruguay is a gem if you want to disconnect, not worry about a lot of sightseeing, and enjoy nature and the beach. No cars honking all the time, no haggling vendors on the beach, a lot of Italian-inspired dishes and grilled meats, friendly people, traffic that obeys speed limits and signals, and water straight from the tap that tastes better than in the U.S. Restaurant and grocery prices are the same as the U.S., some things maybe a bit more expensive, and for most people (including me), it takes a very long time to travel there. In my case, it was genuinely about 24 hours when I take the airport shuttles, busses, wait times at airports, and flights all into consideration. It was great experiencing all four seasons in one week! And somehow, on my last day in Montevideo, I went to five museums in five hours (and had lunch)! I would go back.

Sounds lovely @northgeorgia and glad to see things settling on the weight front

Definitely not my strength but giving a β€œcontrolled weekend β€œ a go 🀞

    USA. Day 28. FD

Thank you, Lilymartin, for volunteering to usher us through April. I can’t believe that we are already at the end of March but happy that it is Spring! I am not a Winter person.

Today, the inside of my entire house is being painted. I can’t wait until this is all done. I am told it will be done by Tuesday or Wednesday. Wednesday, I am supposed to be a surprise visitor to my grandson’t class where I will read the class a book. Even my grandson doesn’t know that I will be there. The last time I did this last year, he didn’t seem to recognize me. That surprised me, so later I told him how much I loved doing this and I would love to come back. IO really had to laugh when my 4 year old grandson told me that I had to let someone else have a turn because I already had my turn. LOL. Little children say they the darnedest things!

Well, tonight, with all my furniture moved all over the place, I am not even sure where I will sleep. The painters asked if they could come back tomorrow, Saturday, to work and I said yes. I am at the point that I will do anything to finish this!! Fortunately, painting is the last thing I have to do!!

Anyway, fasting today will be easy. Even my kitchen is filled with things and furniture that doesn’t normally go there, making getting around there and cooking difficult!

Adding myself to the pocket list:

Day 28 – Rural Nebraska, USA – OMAD

I just realized I read posts this morning, but never posted myself–oops! This is such a busy time, as I’m working on editing the Leaguer (I’ve talked about this in the past, if you remember, and am so very happy that it’s my very last one, as our move to our new house takes me away from a location that makes me eligible to serve as editor), working on taxes, working on negotiations with our seller (the furnace is old enough that it needs replacing and she won’t be happy to do that), and all the church and piano lesson stuff I always do. So you’d think that losing weight would be easy because I’m too busy to eat, right? No, I’m NEVER too busy to eat, LOL!

I’m doing OMAD today because DH has been losing weight, and I will NOT allow him to weigh less than I do!!!! ☹️🀣

    Have a grand one, everyone!

Stitchincarol I wanted to congratulate you on your new home and wish you the best with your renovations. πŸ‘πŸ»

    Day 29, NFD, Aus

Even though I start the post with the day of the month, I am still surprised that it’s going to be April on Monday! Thanks for stepping up to host @lilymartin.

I’m with you @ccco – definitely not a winter. Unless winter lasted about 2 weeks – that I could handle! The end is in sight for your rennos!

Woke to beautiful soaking rain this morning. Lovely!

Thanks for the trip report @northgeorgia – sounds like you had a wonderful break.

Day 29 country west Australia CD 81.5 kgs 179.3 lbs.
@funshipfreddie, I Had a very good FD yesterday, surprisingly easier than I had anticipated.
If I don’t have anything to eat in the morning, the rest of the day is often usually not too bad.
But that first bite and the leptin/ghrelin get to work and then it is a different story altogether !
I am finally winning the battle with the Fat Fairy though the superglue she has used to secure that spare tyre around my waist needs to be patented. It appears to be stuck fast !!!!
My jeans are getting looser 😁 and I almost need to use a belt but THIS time I will ditch the jeans when they are too loose ( oh happy day !!) and not make the mistake I made last time which was to keep bigger clothes ‘ just in case’….😱😱 and voila! here I am … again…..
@stitchincarol, busy times ahead. Good luck with your shift. How lovely to have your own space to do with as you choose.
@penz, we could do with some much needed rain. Temps in the mid to high 30Cs here ,still ,and we are about to head in to the second month of autumn. ( Where is the year going ????)
@ccco oh the disruption of having you9r house painted – but the result is so worth it. As you say, at leat it might keep you out of the kitchen !!
@north Georgia, your trip to Uruguay sounds fabulous. A Lot of travelling for you but such an experience!
Yes I am more than happy to host April as I have my 5:2 mojo BAAAAACCCKKKKK !!! It’s taken a while….
Shout out to @at to kindly set up the spreadsheet, please πŸ™πŸ™for this rather computer inept baby boomer !!😬
    Have a good weekend everyone.
Remember hunger pangs are the feeling of fat cells shrinking . And a growling stomach is the sound of fat cells shrinking….πŸ€”

    Day 28 – USA – NFD

Greetings, everyone! The past couple of weeks have been super busy for me, with multiple projects related to my business. I am very ready for March to come to an end. I even have Tuesday, April 1, circled on my calendar! Haha! I hope April is a better month, and I certainly plan to make it so. πŸ˜€

This weekend, I plan to mow my lawn, relax, read, and work more on a new song I’m writing (fun hobby, nothing serious).

Since I never drink alcohol, smoke, use any tobacco or vaping products, or take drugs of any kind, and I am sick of sugar-free gum, I broached the subject with ChatGPT regarding something that is safe and harmless to chew on as a diversion to food and eating. Real licorice twigs was mentioned. Lo and behold, they sell those on Amazon! Who knew? Of course, I’ve always known about licorice candy, but I didn’t know about real licorice twigs, so I bought those to try.

Best wishes to all! I hope everyone is having a safe, happy, and healthy journey.

    Kind regards,
    Joseph

    Day 29 – South Africa πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ – NFD

I’ve been busy watching Peppa Pig – in Spanish! Surprisingly entertaining, but she’s a bit spiteful with George πŸ˜…

@lilymartin – I’m the same with not eating in the mornings. I’m glad I don’t feel hungry then. But as soon as I eat something I’m ravenous.

@icystorm – good idea re the liquorice sticks. I remember having those when I was a kid. Biltong/beef jerky might also work, I think it’s fairly low in calories anyway, & takes a lot of chewing.

Another brunch date to rush off to.

    Have a good weekend everyone 🌀 🌈

    Day 29 UK NFD

NFD / CD yesterday ? Finding my way again to relax – but not too much , did go out for a few beers but stuck to my limit , which I’d set earlier in the day so small victory

Peppa Pig in Spanish sounds interesting @funshipfreddie my son who’s living in Spain says he watches the Simpsons in Spanish to extend his vocabulary

Ahh liquorice @icystorm when I was very young I used to live near Pontefract , where they used to make the β€œcakes” actually coin shaped sweets , you could smell them for miles , happy memories

Right , lots to do today must get moving Have a great Saturday all

    Day 29 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 241 lbs. Nope. Got to get out of the 240s as quickly as possible and into the 220s. This is madness! I want to leave April looking less like an Easter egg πŸ™‚

I think right away, I’ll start avoiding sugary drinks and avoid snacking. Probably need to increase water intake to help continue recovering from the travel.

    Day 30, NFD, Aus

The rain has stopped @lilymartin, otherwise I would send it your way. However, rellies in Brisbane report they have more than enough so if you know any Queenslanders, maybe you can appeal to them?

No news my side of the world.

    Hello all!

Active and busy weekend. πŸšΆπŸš΄β€β™€οΈ. Lost an hour last night and could have done with keeping it… πŸ˜‚

Today is Mother’s Day here so lots of lovely messages as I think of my beautiful mum who left us in February. πŸ’• We never really celebrated the hallmark days – mum and dad never really went in for all of that so it very much is a day like another today for me but I felt her with me earlier though.

Have a lovely day everyone and happy Mother’s Day even if it’s not your β€œday” to celebrate. 🌺 🌼 Celebrate them and spend precious time with them when you can.

Final check in for March tomorrow.

    Day 30 NE England NFD

Well March is nearly over, not quite panned out as I hoped. I will weigh in tomorrow morning.
Yesterday we had a red wine and pizza evening and today out to celebrate Mothers Day. 🫀
Daughter moves house tomorrow so we will be going to spend next weekend doing some DIY.

Thank you @lilymartin for sorting out April

@brightonbelle My Grandmother used to buy pontefract cakes, I’d forgotten all about them!

@northgeorgia Uruguay sounds great, glad you enjoyed it despite the travelling

    Day 31 – South Africa πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ – NFD 70.1 kg

Ending Mindful March 0.1 kg heavier than I started it. Not bad. I’ve only averaged about 7000 steps per day though, so there’s plenty of room for improvement next month 🚢

It was a hectic weekend here with the annual Iron Man event in our town. They take over the entire seafront, & I’m glad it’s over with for another year. I hope all the mums had a nice Mother’s Day. They only have it May in South Africa

@brightonbelle – Los Simpsons is a good idea. It’s not on Netflix though, unfortunately. There are a few similar animated series, & I could just about follow some of them with Spanish subtitles. But they talk so fast! πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

@iona72 – good luck with your final weigh-in! πŸ˜… I’m sure we’ll all do better in Awesome April – Easter Eggs & Hot Cross Buns permitting! 😱 πŸ‡πŸ£

I had a quick weigh in and despite having quite an indulgent Mother’s Day delighted to be 1lb down for the month , I usually weigh my lowest midday so may even be able to register another lb but I’m happy with the 1lb , particularly as I had a week in France πŸ₯πŸΎthis month

Going to get a few f800s in early this week as off on a trip to see FIL Wed/thurs

Thanks for guiding us @at and well done @lilymartin for April

Checking in with everyone in readiness for April. It will have to be a good re-set month for me. We had a lovely lunch celebrating my husband’s birthday (a few weeks late) at a beautiful restaurant in D.C. But the city was INSANE with cars and tourists, due to the cherry blossoms and the wonderful balmy weather. See everyone next month!

Sorry I missed yesterday! I am getting to the conclusion of my renovations, happily. I have been going from room to room putting everything back in the painted rooms, hanging pictures, refilling cabinets, etc., as the men complete their work in each room and push the furniture back in place. I want to be finished on my end at the same time the workers are finished. At least that is my goal and I seem to be getting there. I put up new valances on my living room windows last night and they are adorable. So far, I am very happy with everything.

In the meantime, back to my DASH plan. I ate too much salt in the last two days. I let my guard down and I gained 2 lbs. The speed with which I gained that tells me that it is water weight. I have become very sensitive to salt, so I have been writing down the calories I eat and the sodium I consume. Even fresh food has salt. Well, so far, I did learn that oatmeal and strawberries have no salt. LOL
Anyway, I immediately got back on track.

I can’t believe March is over already but I got a lot done, especially with my house, which makes me feel wonderful that I don’t have that burden hanging over me! In the meantime, I am very much looking forward to April. For me, April brings a lot of Spring/Summer socializing and a lot of gardening. I already have flowers out. I also removed a tree from my front lawn that I have wanted gone for a long time. I got it back like a bonzai tree but it is a Japanese Maple, which should get huge. It was there when I bought the house. I really wish people would sometimes give more thought to the plants they put in. While they may look nice when they are new, down the road they can be a disaster, like that tree. If it had been allow to grow full size, it would have upended my walkway and destroyed my lawn and I love beautiful lawns. As you all can see, I have been busy inside and outside!! LOL

Anyway, now with the onset of Spring, I will be much more physical and feel that will certainly contribute to more weight loss. Again, loving April (and playing golf with my grandson and daughter), along with playing golf in my ladies’ golf group. We start with a lovely cocktail party next week on Wednesday and the following week a lovely opening day luncheon!

Jaifaim, I understand your sentiments about Mother’s Day, Ours is in May. We never really did much with that, either. We did send Mother’s Day cards to her and my younger sister puts flowers on our parents graves. I put a wreath on their graves for Christmas. I think your mother is smiling at you now because she knows you are missing her and thinking of her. I truly believe that. πŸ™

Excelsior12309, April will be a good reset.

See you all in April! πŸ€—

    USA. Day 31

I haven’t seen the April thread yet!

Day 31 – Rural Nebraska, USA – OMAD

Depending on what weight I choose, and whether I choose today’s weight or tomorrow morning’s (once March is actually finished…) I’m either up a pound or down 8 oz. The good news in that is that I didn’t actually gain anything of significance, and given the month this has been (bought a house, had influenza A, lost power for 84 hours because of a blizzard, I’m working on taxes, it’s Lent, I’ve been training the new church secretary…) I’m okay with that. I’d rather be thinner, but I’m working hard on giving myself grace.

I’ll be around in April, even if I’m not as chatty as I’ve typically been; life is simply non-stop these days.

    Have a grand one, everyone!
