  • Hey everyone!

    Me and my boyfriend have tried so many different ways to try and lose a few extra pounds lately (he wants to loose about a stone and I want to lose half a stone – so not very far to go) but we’ve not having much success as things keep throwing us off the wagon such as weekend family meals etc plus we both enjoy proper food and the occasional weeknight drink. I suddenly thought about the 5:2 diet and how it could be the answer to our problems.

    I’m not completely new to 5:2, I’ve done it in the past and had success with it, but my boyfriend has never given it a go before. We’re thinking of fasting on Mondays and Thursdays so that the fast days are spread out over the week.

    I wondered if anyone else has had success doing it as a couple and if you have any advice? 🙂

    My partner and I started together initially. He liked the simplicity and the fact he only had to last for one day and then got to eat normally. He lost 1-2lbs a week.
    I have carried on because I have a lot more to lose. it’s handy if you can both eat the same food on the same day. I hate watching my partner scoff cake when I can’t have any!
    One piece of advice to you is although you don’t need to count kcals on NFD’s you need to keep an eye on how much you eat. Some people find they eat loads or binge on carbs. The advice is to eat ‘normally’ but eating ‘normally’ got us all overweight in the first place!
