Lost 5lbs on first day

  • So, I am a 31-year-old man who started the 5:2 diet on Monday, Jan 27th.
    Had two eggs (scrambled with a splash of semi-skinned milk) for breakfast, followed by a clementine.
    Aside from plenty of water, I then had nothing until 8pm, when I got stuck into a big heap of veg, stir-fried in one calorie spray oil.
    I definitely felt hungry, but never unwell or dizzy.
    I weighed myself on the morning on my first fast and tipped the scales at 14st 10lbs. 24 hours later I was 14st 5lbs, which seemed a huge difference for such a short period of time. Looking forward to fast number two on Thursday.
    Loving the fact I can eat normally five days a week!

    Don’t feel disheartened if the scales go up and down during the week (if you’re a daily weigher, like me). I’ve discovered the body does all sorts of weird things as it tries to hang onto those fat cells, but it does let go eventually!

    Slow and steady wins the race and other irritating idioms, lol.
