  • Hi everyone
Took the bull by the horns on Monday of this week.
Loking forward to my change in lifestyle.
Live in the Borders of Scotland. If there is anyone out there who wants to get in touch, etc.
Good Luck to me and everyone.

Hi maggot just starting this out today myself wouldn’t mind a buddy 2 keep me motivated living in Dublin.

    Hi Maggot and Sg2016,

I will be starting my first day tomorrow and would love to share my experiences with you. When I told my husband and 16 year young daughter about this they thought I had gone crazy, so I am reaching out for support 😉

Living in Rotterdam, but have studied in Brighton (ages ago)
    Happy fasting!
    Annemarie

Hi folks I’m on week two and live in Ireland. So far I’ve lost 5.4 llbs and am feeling very motivated. I find this forum really helpful in keeping me going. Annemarie, I get that reaction from some people too .

Its a fairly standard reaction. And when it starts working and you start losing weight they become even more worried and beg you to stop as they are concerned about your health. Its crazy but that reaction is pretty standard.

    Hiya Sg2016
Here’s to us both doing well. Opting to do my 2nd fast day tomorrow. The 1st one went quite well.
Going to pat myself on the back and celebrate on Saturday with a glass of white wine spritzer!
Would love to have you as a buddy in Dublin.
    Maggot

    Hiya Annemarie
    You are definitely not crazy.
Here for you when and if you need some help/motivation. We will show your husband and daughter who is the crazy one 😉
    Regards to Rotterdam.
    Maggot

    Well done Estherorraine,

Hope I can manage as well as you.

Thanks Maggot . I think it was first week luck. I’m also using my fitness pal calorie tracker and aiming for around 1500 calories.Hope all is going well with u.

Hi all, completed yesterday without much trouble and am doing the same as you maggot might aswell get the second fast day over with today and Annemarie I wouldn’t worry what others think….especially if it works. Anyway good luck with the fasting guys.

    Goodmorning everyone!

    Thank you for the support!

Today is my first fasting day, so far so good (hahaha, just woke up!)
I am off to the sauna today, so I don’t expect much difficulty, as that always feels healthy.

I am not doing this to loose weight, I feel good in my body. I think the fasting will help in getting clearer in my mind and perhaps I will loose some ‘old’ patterns/habits that are still in my body. I want to help releasing them by giving my body a break.
So for me this fast diet is more of a mindfulness training.

    Good luck to you all!
    Greetings from sunny Rotterdam
    Annemarie

Hi everyone I am making the commitment to get organised and start, this will be a tough journey so hopefully we can all keep ourselves motivated, I am looking at knee surgery and am hoping to avoid it by losing some weight, have tried everything else. good luck everyone

Hi everyone, I am just beginning today. I have just eaten a hard boiled egg and two raw and unsalted almonds. Off to the supermarket for salads and avocado, on foot. I know I can do a one day 500cal fast day but dreading the weeks ahead. I would say ‘good luck’ to us all but luck isn’t the problem here, is it? So, good perseverance everyone!

    Just started 2nd Fast Day.
Just planned my 500 cal meal for tonight. I find skipping breakfast (I do have the 2 cups of coffee though!) and lunch works for me and I don’t find it any hardship as long as I keep myself busy ….. Going to do some weeding in the garden today. 😉

So far so good. Definitely getting out into the garden today sometime to do soe weeding to keep my mind and body occupied. Watching tennis this arvo. Hope Andy doesn’t give me anymore heart attacks 🙂 😉

    Hiya Cath56 and Junk Lover,
Welcome aboard for this joint (no pun intended Cath56) ride. As you say Junk Lover, motivation is definitely the right word. Let’s get the motivation going. Embarking on my 2nd Fast Day today. I find writing down my meal plan for this evening along with the calories helps me no end with my motivation.

I hear where you are coming from Annemarie. I am doing it, in part, to try and lower my blood pressure and try to keep off any future medication. I get tested again in September so watch this space.

Junk lover, good perseverance is definitely the right mantra !! I had a treat day today and had some bread . I found that day after a fd my cravings rear their ugly head. Maggot I think ur right that waiting to have ur meal later helps but I found it very stomach acid inducing , so junk lover, like u I started my fd day with an egg then soup for lunch and a 300 call dinner. Everything settled down stomach wise after that but I find that I am hungrier this way !!! Enjoy the tennis maggot x

Had a great day at the sauna, but had (and have) a headache all day (and I have been drinking lots of water). Had yoghurt with some small pieces of fruit in it and a few nuts…
When I am eating I appreciate every single bite, flavour and even the texture of the food. So that’s really nice.

But I am looking forward to tomorrow! That’s what I like about this way of fasting. Just one day, tomorrow morning: a croissant! Monday will be my second day.

Maggot, skipping breakfast was the easiest part for me too today… but dinner time now… I’ll have to start weeding or watching tennis, I guess 😉

Cath56: good luck with your knee and steady PERSEVERANCE for all of us!!

Yes, I did it (..Perhaps I should say: I didn’t.. I didn’t eat..) I am proud of myself, had some tough moments this evening (when I could almost hear this chocolate bar talking to me..) Hope you all did well, too!
    Have a lovely weekend!

Annemarie, I also suffered a couple of days’ headaches. Presume it has something to do with withdrawal/change/etc. OK now though. Hope you are too?
1st week over tomorrow – looking forward to getting on the scales. Feeling good.
Had pat-on-the-back glass of white wine spritzer last night. Very proud of myself – normally get carried away with my red wine!! All those empty calories!!

    Hi Maggot,

thanks for asking! Feeling good, no headaches. I appreciate food more now that I have fasted for one day. Tomorrow my second day. Looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time 😉
(love the expression ‘pat-on-the-back’ glass of wine!)
    Persistance everyone!

Chuffed to bits. 1.2 Kgs loss for my 1st week and am feeling good.
How is everybody elxse doing after the last week?

    Hi Maggot,
I feel great. Today went really well. No headaches. Enjoyed the few nuts and yoghurt. I really appreciate food more and I feel healthy. Also (but that could be wishful thinking) it seems I am clearer in my mind..
I wonder what the future will bring!
Good luck and happy for you that you lost so much weight already!
    Annemarie

Well done Maggot and Anne-Marie. I’m doing my fast today as yesterday I was celebrating my wedding anniversary. Using my fitness pal calorie counter I discovered that I had eaten 3500 calories in one day. That’s a real eye opener !! Fasting today so the scales will tell me tomorrow.

EstherLorraine, good luck! It was our wedding anniversary too yesterday!! (9 years). But I fasted anyway 🙂

Ha Annemarie you did better than me . If it wasn’t nailed down I ate it. Doing well today though .

Hi all, well done maggot!not really sure about kgs but I now it’s harder to loose a kg den a pound 😂 and fair play Anne Marie. Haven’t bin on d forum in a few days but my second fast went smooth just weighed myself dis mornin and lost a little over 3 pounds so am chuffed :-). Gonna fast today.

well done sg2016 I bet ur even lighter today. I fasted yesterday as well and have now lost 6.8 llbs in three weeks. Chuffed here too .

Hmm, have weighed in after first fast of the week and have put on 1.4 llbs. Clearly I’m eating too much on non fast day. Must not get disheartned 🙁

Hello everyone! My partner and I started the FD last week and yesterday completed our 3rd fast day. We both want to lose some weight and gain the other health benefits that come from the FD. So far I’ve found the fast days quite easy and seem to have more energy on those days. I’ve also found that I’m eating less and more healthily on the non-fast days. Early days yet but I’m pleased with how its going so far.

Anyway, nice to meet you all and I look forward to being part of the same journey!

    Hi everyone
I started yesterday with my first fast. I am doing my second today as off to France tonight for the weekend. I have found it better to liquid fast until evening meal as long as I am busy. I must say even though my tummy is rumbling occasionally, I feel so much more alert than if I was constantly eating (ex slimming world habits)

I have checked the calories for a Leon superfood salad and that will be my meal tonight at the Eurotunnel 😀

Hello little leaf and smiffysmum. It’s nice to all be in the same boat (or train ). I’m doing my second fd of the week. I have a reckoning with the scales tomorrow. Wish u all well.

Hi Everyone, so Monday I saw the feature on This Morning with Michael Mosley, bought the book, have read it through and today was my first fast day!
Not feeling too bad, quite surprised I’m not grumpy and thinking about what’s in the cupboards (can’t get rid of it as have husband and two teen boys to feed)
As they say, I think it’s the thought that tomorrow will be a normal food day (without going mad) and it doesn’t feel depressing like other low cal diets I’ve done that just went on day after miserable day!
Next Fast day will be Friday to get my two in before the weekend, but feeling determined so long may it continue 🙂
