  • Day 6 – USA/GA – NFD – 239 lbs.

Well, I did OMAD yesterday with my chicken and hummus wrap and fresh herbs someone at work brought me. So delicious, but my mom made some pasta and really wanted me to try some. I probably had a two cup serving, but I think the bloat carried over this morning to be up by a bit over a pound. Anyway, I’ll continue the picky/occasional eater trend. I probably won’t OMAD over the next two days, but will continue mindfulness. I am trying to focus on protein and fresh vegetables/fruit over processed carbs while thinking about my TDEE.

    Day 6 NE England CD

I feel like I’m having a pretty good week. No movement on the scale but I can take that.
No snacking has been much easier than expected so should be no problem carrying that on!
Like you @northgeorgia I’m trying to focus on avoiding carbs, especially processed. Everyone is still excited and motivated with our exercise challenge so that’s great to see.
I’ve had my hair cut quite short today, hairdresser calls it a pixie cut, I feel like a new woman!!

    Day 6 – UK – FD

    A bit of a nonstop type of a day…….

Left home at 0830 to go help DD with her dog walking business (her DH has to use her car for work whilst his is waiting a repair job at the garage….

After a light lunch with her, I headed back home – luckily I remembered to pick up an order of bread rolls that we need for a cafe I’m helping to run at our Parish Centre tomorrow as a fund raiser – we sell a lot of bacon rolls to the local Park Runners and people who come to the Craft fair that is happening there tomorrow – then I baked a rhubarb and custard traybake, lemon and blueberry loaf, banana and chocolate loaf and a chocolate brownie…….also made a large batch of carrot and coriander soup for lunchtime sales tomorrow……another volunteer is doing another soup so we can offer a choice….

Tomorrow will be another early start to set up the cafe then I hope cooking lots of bacon/eggs for the rolls we anticipate selling – we open the cafe at 0930 for the park runners and keep it going until around 1700hrs when the craft fair closes too…..selling homemade cakes made by our wonderful volunteer ladies and also soup at lunch time

Just had a lovely hot shower and feeling a tad tired now and can’t face food after all that baking so that is a good thing as it will help me stick to my planned FD

    Day 7 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

@iona72 – I had a haircut too yesterday. I can’t say I feel like a new man, but I can now take off my beanie in public without scaring people 😅

@at – wow – that was a busy day?! And you did all that baking & still managed a FD?! You’re super-human!🥇

Sometimes I really hate technology. I just spent half an hour trying to log into my chrome book, because it was asking for my Google password, & then said my password was wrong – which it wasn’t 🤯 Anyway, I’m aiming to be a weekend warrior, with a good CD today & a FD tomorrow 🏹 I’m finding the ‘no snacking’ much easier than I imagined. It really is just a habit, & the solution is to be just a little more mindful when those thoughts pop into your head. It’s seldom genuine hunger when we go peering into the cupboards or the fridge.

    Have a great weekend everyone 🌤 🌈

    Day 7 – USA/GA – NFD – 238 lbs.

Down a bit from yesterday morning, and my average weight is similar to how it was before vacation. I know I have days ahead with meals as part of a function; I just have to remember to be a picky eater and balance out anything unusual with my other meals to be below TDEE. In fact, I’m going to look up my goal weight TDEE as a reminder of where my calories should be for maintenance when I eventually get there. I’m hoping to make a real difference this summer 🙂

    Day 8 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD 💪

Brrr! There’s a cold front sweeping most of the country, & weather warnings have been issued in several provinces. I feel like hibernating. I doubt we’ll have any snow where I live, but we’ve got rain on the way.

@northgeorgia. I think there was a typo in your last sentence yesterday. “I’m hoping to make a real difference this summer.” I’m sure you meant to write. “I’m going to make a real difference this summer” ✅

A very busy day helping run the cafe – what a great group of volunteers 🤗

Must have done around 50 bacon rolls – served a lot of tea/coffee and multiple bowls of soup and nearly sold out of cakes …..must have been the rainy weather that brought folks in so🤞we raised a good sum of money for the running of the parish centre

Tired out when I got home – had a lovely hot shower to wash the smell of bacon off me and enjoyed a big glass of wine with an easy dinner and then slept like a log……

@funshipfreddie – not superwoman at all…….just seem to lose my appetite when I’m cooking a lot of food……

Wanted to do a quick log in here before heading out with a friend for a gentle flattish walk to stretch the legs but the weather is not enticing wet with dark clouds but the weather forecast is for an improvement on the rain front at least

    Day 8 – USA/GA – FD – 239 lbs.

Don’t forget the importance of exercise! Something that gets you taking in oxygen more than usual. I’m not talking the negligible amount lost through “calorie burning” sold in the media; I’m talking about the scientific research that fat converts to water and carbon dioxide. To increase CO2 output, you have to increase the body’s need to use O2. This morning, for example, I was at 240.0 lbs. I got dressed and went out to pick up small limbs and sticks from last night storm (aside: the people in the north of the county and in the counties south of us suffered 80 mph winds that knocked down trees, damaged property, and killed one person driving in their car when a tree fell on them). It took about 30 – 45 minutes, a lot of walking up and down hills, dragging armloads back and forth, etc. When I came back in to rest, I weighed myself and was already down half a pound. So, it’s a good reminder that exercise plays a role in weight loss, just very different from the marketed perception.

Yes, I am making a difference, not hoping 🙂 I did “mess up” a bit yesterday with less defined meals and more snacking, but I forbade myself from falling down the pit of surrender. For example, I allowed myself a mini ice cream bar after a meal, but did not give in to the urge later in the day to grab a box of crackers or a bag of potato chips. I am sticking to the picky, occasional eater profile for the long haul. It would be great to see no more 240s by the time July gets here. Then I’ll start working on getting into the 220s.

    Day 9 – USA/GA – NFD – 237 lbs.

@funshipfreddie It was in my mom’s freezer. She also insisted on my FD I take some homemade spaghetti and meatballs and a couple slices of pizza my brother had bought. I ate literally one bite of spaghetti and half a meatball as it smelled so good, probably upping my FD500 to FD800, and those carbs causing havoc so late at night. I did not eat anything else, but graciously “saved it for later.” I’ll return a good portion of both to her refrigerator in a few days. I think it’s more about her not having space, with feeding her grandkids.

I have three lunch meetings at work this week, so I’ve got to calorie restrict on these NFDs. I never eat the huge slab of cake, for example, provided in the board meeting lunch that is coming up on Tuesday. I might avoid the potato chips this time, too. I remember they had those healthy salads a couple of times… it would be great if they catered those again 🙂

Anyway, some good news is that I hit 237 this morning. In the past two months, I have hit 236 twice and 237 four times. My goal for the month is 235, which I last hit in March. But I believe I can get to 234.

    USA. Day 9 FD

This morning, I found I was up two pounds. I know it’s my fault. I succumbed to ice cream!! The plan was to measure the amount but that never really works for me with ice cream. I hate to have to relegate ice cream to the “no buy” list. That’s where I put all the foods that I lose control over! 🤨

It’s been a whirlwind few days having DD, DSIL, and three dear granddaughters here

Huh. Day 9 That was as far as I got yesterday, LOL. They arrived Thursday evening and leftt Saturday morning, so it was a short visit, but was sure fun!

The church council has asked us to step up the pace, so we spent six hours packing today, and plan to do the same tomorrow and are hopeful everything will be out then. We do have lots of stuff, @funshipfreddie, but the real issue is that we were only moving a little bit at a time–only as much as we could get put away that evening. Today we had help, and had my Venza filled to the brim, DH’s Nissan pickup filled to the brim, and an Expedition and a big pick-up filled to capacity, so there’ll be no putting it all away today. In fact, I’m so tired, I plan to do nothing tonight, so I’m rested enough tomorrow to do it all again.

The good news is that even with eating too much while family was here, I was still 153.0 this morning, so all this moving is burning off the calories.

    Have a grand one, everyone!

It is SO cold here for today and the next few days. After months of hot/mild weather we are finally getting out winter and brrrr…. it might not be snowing but sleety mizzle, a lazy wind and generally miserable weather.
I am not complaining because it IS winter but the hunger dragons have gathered in their thousands and I have not slayed nor drowned them all. I do however have very efficient kidney function !!😁
‘Hunger is your body’s physiological reaction, appetite is your desire for food’ so I read in a health magazine today.
@northgeorgia, sending positive thoughts for good choices for your many lunches this week. And yes exercise is definitely important .

Checking in late today. The weather was atrocious this morning, so I left earlier than usual to drop off laundry & then make it to the mosaic class by 9 am. Not that I have to be there then; it’s not like we get detention if we’re late 😅 Anyway, the rain’s finally stopped, & we should be getting some warmer weather by the weekend.

    @merryapple – Paisley is adorable 🐕

@northgeorgia – I just knew your mom’s name would come up 😅 It sound’s like every day you’re navigating a dietary minefield. I think I’d have to move. By ‘picky eater’ – you mean ‘discerning’?

@ccco – you too with the ice cream?! I put it on the ‘don’t buy’ list years ago, except for very special occasions.

    @stitchincarol – I hope you’ve regained your energy & that you’re able to complete your big move today🤞 🏡

@iona72 – not snacking IS a revelation. Much easier than I imagined too. And I’ve managed to dodge the chocolate & wine gums for over a week! 💪

@lilymartin – Very cold here too! I don’t think it makes me any hungrier though. Maybe just a bit grumpy. Having more hot drinks might help? Or soup/broth? Exercise is important, but not when it comes to weight loss. Read this short article by Dr Jason Fung. In a nutshell he says, “there are so many reasons why exercise improves health, but weight loss is just not one of the reasons” https://www.thefastingmethod.com/the-exercise-to-lose-weight-myth/

Yesterday’s pocket list was very feeble for a Monday? Is the RESOLVE for June already waning? I hope not. We still have almost 3 weeks to make a difference, & to create some good new habits to take into July & beyond 🎯

The southern winds are going around in circles in the Tasman Sea then heading over us… Last night when I left spinning the Mini was marooned in a huge puddle. I gingerly waded out to it. The plimsole line was up to the top but not over of my ankle boots…😅
Your numbers are on the improve @lilymartin despite the cold carbo drive… Love the quote!! Appetite vs Hunger… mmmm??? Now there’s a million dollar question!!!
@funshipfreddie I didn’t exercise very much at all until I got most of my weight down. On the whole, I didn’t snack, cooked my meals and didn’t buy chippies, icecream or other temptations for the cupboards. If friends came to dinner, they had to wait for the actual dinner on the plate. No preloading with biscuits and cheese etc!! I’ve relaxed more now but that’s how I got here. Apologies if that sounds preachy…
@northgeorgia If being picky or just plain discerning is what it takes, you just do it!! ✅ But your darling mother does seem to put temptations your way. If you gave her one serve sized containers to fill for your fridge or freezer, how would that work????
@stitchincarol Have a heroic last big move day!!
I’m moving art work today with three men. It’s the packing crates that make it difficult. Must fly…

Day 11 country west Australia FD 84.3 kgs!
@funshipfreddie, I know a lot of people say exercise by itself is good for health and not necessarily weight loss but ,for me, I find the combination of both exercise along with watching what I eat gives me the best result. 🤔
When I record what I eat and how much exercise I do, the days with exercise always have better outcome with weight than not.
Yesterday was one such day ! Careful with what I ate but no real chance to even go for my walk due to work and weight up.
Yes, I know that our weight can vary by 1-2 kgs daily with water weight and other things.
And as Tom Venuto says ” you can’t outrun a bad diet”.
Re: hunger yes I have been having more hot Vegemite in water drinks ( 1 teaspoon Vegemite in a mug of hot water) but I ‘m a bit worried about the salt content as Vegemite is quite salty but does help to, if not drown the hunger dragons at least make them tread water with their wings in the air shouting ‘ help! We can’t swim”
@merryapple, sorry to her about your weather and justunderbootheight puddle! Could you please reverse the rain clouds and send some over here to the west? We’d be really grateful.😁
@northgeorgia, I agree that being ‘mindful’ as opposed to ‘picky’ means you are making wiser decisions regarding your health. Difficult in the short term but worth it in the long term to attain your goal.
WAs it @funshipfreddie who previously noted delayed gratification ?
I sometimes think about that when I am tempted to eat love TDEE or more than 500-800calories on a FD.
I won’t have it now but I can have it tomorrow/later/next/week… etc.

    Day 11 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

@merryapple – that doesn’t sound preachy at all. More like common sense. You knew what you had to do, & you got on with it. Instead of doing what most people do, looking for an easy fix or sticking their head in the sand. The weather’s been horrendous here too. Highways closed due to snow, & at least nine people killed in my province alone.

@lilymartin – I really wouldn’t worry about the salt. If your BP is okay & it helps you get through the FD, then go for it. Anyway, losing weight lowers BP! Exercise, especially on a FD, can increase hunger. And if you can’t sustain it? It’s a vicious circle. I mean, I think you said in an earlier post you’ve had no real results since 2017/18 so, I dunno, maybe you just need to re-think your strategy. From your post, I can’t tell if you’re putting yourself on the pocket list or/and the NSL?

    Day 11…….Florida……NFD

Sorry it’s been a couple days……. I have no excuse… every time I sat down to post, I was pulled in a different direction. I got up early today to specifically post.

Yesterday was an FD, stuck to it with no issues but I am looking forward to eating today. Last night, my tummy growled so it was making it a bit harder to sleep. Not sure what that was about….on FD I try to end with protein to keep the hunger at bay but I may need to reconsider the last meal on FD if it keeps happening.

My June challenge is going well. Monday, I finally took a rest day, after being at the office all day then setting up a showroom, I was beat. And in all honesty, I wasn’t in the right head space to do it either.
I find that if I force myself, when my mind is cluttered and unfocused, I give up permanently. So, I chose to do what right for me to keep me from quitting.

Quick question…. For those who walk daily. When did you start enjoying walking and looking forward to doing it. I find it quite boring, I thought getting out, getting fresh air and taking a break from the constant noise of life would be fun. I’m just not finding the joy in it yet! I’d like that to change.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not stopping. I have to do boring stuff all the time. Being boring has never stopped me but from all the research I’ve done a lot have said they enjoy it and look forward to their walks. I was just wondering when the switch from this something I have to do to something I want to do will happen

Okay enough rambling from me today!

    Day 11 – USA/GA – FD – 240 lbs

Just up a few ounces, but it was enough to push me into 240. But today is a FD, and although I have another lunch meeting Thursday, I’m thinking it will be an easier NFD. Mom had an unfortunate incident with a corner of a Ziploc bag scratching her cornea. She went to urgent care yesterday, no fluids are leaking, and they gave some antibiotic drops they say should heal it.

    second post country west Australia
@funshipfreddie, I should have made it clearer – on pocket list for both NSL and FD
You are correct in that I haven’t made a lot of progress because:
    1. I overate a LOT and did not stick to my TDEE.
I usually find the FDs take care of themselves but the NFDs, unless I am really mindful ,tend to blow out and like most people I overestimate calories burned and underestimate calories taken in.
    2. I Have puddled around with 5:2 and not usually fasted to only 500-800 calories when/if I have bothered to do a FD and certainly lost my mojo ages go and wasn’t doing 2 FDs a week.
Now that I am back on track with mojo raring to go,( I am almost at the end of a good FD to only 500 calories )I am interested to see what the scales say in the morning.
Re exercise: I had a pilates class today and only had coffee afterwards and did not feel hungry even though everyone else was indulging.
I find it much easier not to take the first bite of any food.
Most days I am usually fine but when I take that first bite, ghrelin steps in and then I get/feel hungry .
I suspect that I have overeaten for so long that my appetite has overridden the signals to my brain which should tell me when I am satiated.
My satiety point is WAY beyond what it ought to be and resetting that by fasting and eating only to my TDEE over a number of weeks is my goal. 😊
One reason/excuse that I gave up 5:2 many years ago, after having success with this WOL, was that I reached a plateau for about 3 months!! I was diligent in fasting, 2 FDs a week, calculated TDEE etc but my weight reached a certain level and DID. NOT.BUDGE.
MY DH was getting a bit concerned as I was eating only off a side plate, few carbs, little sugar , exercising etc etc.
If someone else had told me this story I would have been somewhat loathe to believe it, thinking there must be extra calories or little/no fasting.
Anyway after about 3 months I got fed up, fell off the wagon and rolled down the hill and out of sight.
I spent the next several years eating way too much, occasionally doing a half hearted fast here and there, occasionally popping up here to post and then last year joined back in and have posted since then but again, only recently, planning and doing 5:2 as it is best done.
I m looking forward to results which should start to be noticeable by end of June. 😁

    Day 12 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

@lilymartin – well done! 🎯 🥳 I’m the same on FD’s. I don’t touch a morsel of food until the evening, otherwise I’d be ravenous for the rest of the day.

@bert1802 – interesting question re walking. I only paid attention to walking/steps after I finished working. Before that I was on my feet & rushing around all the time. I deliberately never used the elevators when I was living/working on ships, & I went to the gym quite often. But that all changed after I retired, So I got a Fitbit & started keeping an eye on how many steps I was doing. I aim for 8000 a day, and it’s surprising how quickly they add up. Yesterday, with the line-dancing thrown it was about 10,500 steps. Most of the time I enjoy walking if the weather is pleasant. I live close to the sea, so getting fresh air & sun on my skin makes me feel good. And just knowing I’m doing something good for my body is motivation enough. Moving is essential for good health anyway. I don’t want to lose my mobility when I’m older. If you find it boring you could listen to music or podcasts/radio via your phone or an mp3 player & earphones. I’m learning Spanish, so I usually listen to podcasts in Spanish while I’m walking. And there are some shops just a km away, so I nearly always pick up something I need, even if it’s just cat food or milk. I only use my car two or three times a week. Just try to make it a habit. I know you’re still working though, so, easier said than done. And get a fitness tracker if you don’t have one. But I think all smartphones have some form of built-in trackers now. Or find a walking buddy? Just Do It ✅

    Day12-No. VA USA-FD
I am joining the fasters today. @lilymartin, I laughed at your description of falling off the wagon, and rolling down the hill and out of sight. I am in that position now, emerging into the daylight and getting back on the wagon!
@merryapple, I hope your severe storms have abated. I have not been eating carefully, but no cocktails with tiny umbrellas or giant burgers! But dealing with the snacking thing…that does require determination at times. I wish to be on the no snack list, also. I know from past experience that it really helps.
@funshipfreddie, thanks for your leadership this month!

    Day 12 – Ireland – NFD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

    156.5 lbs

Hi everyone, I am so conscious that I keep posting saying that I’m back and then disappear again… this has been my toughest year to date… adjusting to life without mum and the inevitable changes that brings (family dynamics and continuing the process clearing and saying farewell to the home place) have affected me more than I thought they would…

I’ve been knocked a little out of kilter and my habits have been affected. I’m still mindful of my food and exercise but posting and other habit which are good for me have dropped off but I am here today and hope to be here again tomorrow. 📝 thanks for being there and keeping the challenge going. As you say @funshipfreddie Just Do It ✔️.

Day 12, Nebraska, USA – NFD

Next week I’ll be back to teaching piano lessons, and so back to fasting— I’m looking forward to it.

We have odds and ends to pack up today and then we’ll do the gardening stuff in the garage tomorrow and then we’ll be done at the parsonage; on Monday or Wednesday, we’ll get all my organ music moved.

THEN we start putting it all away. Our shower pace allowed us to put it away with each load so the chaotic mess is daunting… oh well, eh?

Eventually, I’ll be back to posting daily.

    Day 12 – USA/GA – NFD – 236 lbs.

@lilymartin I had a similar experience, except I continued doing well enough on 5:2. I suspect as the plateau kept going and lots of outside stressors overcame me, I slowly began increasing my binge on NFDs with lots of unhealthy portions and choices sneaking in over time. I’m going to go for OMAD NFDs during the week when possible, and when not, I have to be mindful and balance out the TDEEs over the course of other NFDs in the week.

Day 13 country west Australia CD to TDEE 83.3 kgs 183.26 lbs 13.09 STONE !!!!!!!!!!!!
That is the first time I have actually converted my weight into stone and I am embarrassed to find that I weigh more than football players and some rugby players 😱😱😱😱 especially as I was 9 stone 6 when I got married. 134.4 lbs or 61.09 kgs. If I needed a wake up call this is it.!!!!😲😲🙄🙄
I find that if I want to lose weight ( I most certainly do )!! I can only have good FDs 500 -800 and CDs ONLY to TDEE.
If I go over TDEE on NFDs then it sabotages the work of the FDs.
Time to pull up my big girl’s pants, as someone on this thread used to say some years ago, and JUST DO IT.
@funshipfreddie, thanks for the kick in those same pants with your leading us this month.

Have been out for a little walk before work begins and have pulled up my big girl pants.. yes life is tough and crappy at times but we’ve only got one of them.. it’s actually amazing how your frame of mind can change to day to day.. definitely age or time in life plays a part.. Anyways.. here I am. Big Girl Pants pulled up and I’d like to join the NSL next week as a goal.
    Have a lovely Friday gang.

@lilymartin – you’re welcome! Anytime you want a kick in the pants, you can count on me! 😅 And, ditto what @jaifaim said – you CAN do this! 💪

@jaifaim – there you are! 👏 I was getting worried . See you on the NSL soon 🤗

@merryapple – there’s a horrible typo on the spreadsheet by your name/today’s date?! Or someone’s playing a bad joke on you..🤔

    Day 13 – USA/GA – NFD – 238 lbs.

Next FD will be Sunday. It’s actually prep day for a procedure, but I think even so, I’ll keep it under 800 for the day.

    USA Day 13. FD

Good morning, everyone (for those of us who are still in a morning). Good day to everyone else.

Phew, I have been way too busy lately. I am about to go out for my walk before the heat becomes too intense.

I would join the NSL but I really can’t. One of the ways I have been trying to cut calories is to make my main meal one that I can eat a piece of at different time of day. This really cuts the calories, even the food I eat this way looks quite odd! LOL This morning I have a glass of orange juice and one corn on the cob. Later, I might eat some soap. The meat or fish would come at lunch time. Dessert might be my mid-afternoon snack. If the calories permit, then late afternoon I might eat one item more. I am still on the DASH diet, which is going well. This is me trying to think out of the box. Now, I just need to see where this takes me. By carefully measuring everything, my food choices can be anything I want. Hopefully, this was help me to not feel deprived. So far, I am never hungy. My biggest problem is the evening where I will either stress eat or eat out of boredom. I am usually too tired to do much at that hour, so I am working on a way to control this. 👍🏻

@lilymartin, it looks like you have a grasp on your situation. I wish you lots of luck.

@jaifaim, I agree with you about how a change of mind can change from day to day. Sometimes to me it also seems like minute to minute. Good luck!

@funshipfreddie, you are so right. Everyone is different, which is why we just need to see what works for us.

It’s already hot but out for my walk I go. 🤗

Day 14 NZ NFD New Plymouth ???

We’re on a Thelma and Louise road trip to pick up a Westie puppy💝 called Pinky Pie. Sadly not for me but my friend, Anna, who wants to change her name!! I’m also doing a wee bit of art gallery business. There are serious road closures/repairs going on so what used to be a 4 hr coastal trip took us 7hrs. The new route takes us inland on the Forgotten Highway through wild high sided gorges to a 3 building (pub, post office, gas station) settlement called Whangamomana in the middle of nowhere. They have declared themselves a republic and elected a goat as the mayor!!!
Thank you @funshipfreddie!!! I was zipping around getting packed… I wonder about my ability to to record numbers or is is my phone doing my thinking for me🤔
Hey @jaifaim Great to see you check in!!
Yeah @lilymartin!! Great to see you getting results!! I dropped my BMR in the 80s by doing one of those awful liquid powder diets into starvation mode, like you must have if you were eating off a side plate!! Thank goodness we have better knowledge of things like insulin now… and youtube clips by people like Dr Fung.
Gotta go to meet ms pinky pie!!

    Day 14 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

@merryapple – I hope you enjoyed your road trip. ‘Pinky Pie’ – that’s just plain cruel 😅 And I wouldn’t mind swapping our current mayor for that goat. Nice number! Looks like you’re at your June goal already 🎯

@ccco – sounds like a plan! Although, if you don’t feel just a bit deprived on a FD, then maybe you’re doing something wrong. Check how long you’re going without eating, & see if you can improve on that. And if you know you’re eating out of boredom, well there are lots of things that can relieve boredom! Listening to great music works for me. I think I’m going to leave myself off the NSL on fast days too. It kind of goes without saying really; if I’m on a fast day, then I’m not going to be snacking.

Top Tip from Dr Jason Fung – “after fasting, pretend it never happened. Eat normally, as if you had never fasted”.

    Have a good weekend everyone 🌤 🌈

Morning all and lovely to see you all too. I’m going to aim to keep my daily posting habit.

Well done on the DASH diet @ccco!

Enjoy your road trip @merryapple and I agree with @funshipfreddie – how awfully cruel it is to name a dog with a name like Pinky Pie!!! Poor little pet 🐶

@funshipfreddie I’m listening to a great dance 🕺 playlist here as I do housework – the only way for me! And it’s too wet there today to hike, cycle or garden. Are you still line dancing?

    Day 14 – USA/GA – NFD – 239 lbs.

Meh. No real change over last Saturday, but overall is a 2 lb. drop over last week — I just have to stay mindful and I think OMAD, especially on most NFDs at work, will be helpful.

    USA. Day 14. FD

Good day, everyone! I broke down and weighed myself and Yay! I am down 2 lbs. The trick for me is to make sure I am not losing and gaining the same two pounds over and over again.

Hope every is having a great weekend!

    Day 14…… Florida……..NFD

My last couple days have been a bit busier than usual and I had to make some changes.

The changes are not major but more like small adjustments to make life a bit easier for me. I was really struggling to get my walk in daily. Pretty much, I hated it and nothing I did helped. I spent majority of the time pushing myself and telling myself I could do it…. etc., then I’d finish and complain to the hubby.

Last week, I came home and he said he did some research and said why don’t you try walking in the morning before your day starts……. Well, I really had nothing to lose, so I started walking in the morning…… The conclusion, morning walks are so much better.
First, I don’t have to push myself or tell myself, I can do it. I cut 2 min of my mile time plus, I’m not hating it but I’m not quite liking yet. Progress!

@funshipfreddie…..I have a tracker that tracks steps/miles, heart rate, difficulty….. etc.
I also do listen to music/podcast etc. I started walking not only for my health but my mental health especially. I’ve made some changes and it seems to be getting better.
Conclusion, in my own mind. Is I was thinking this was what it had to be set in stone so to speak but I’m coming to the realization that it’s fluid and I can adjust it to my specific needs and wants. The same way this life style works…. It’s not set in stone, it’s fluid and allows each one of us to adjust it to our own individual wants and needs.

Today is an NFD for me…..I feel good today

    Have a great day

    Day 14 NE England

Been super busy lately, which has meant all out of sync with meal times – which I have realised doesn’t work too well for me.
Also had issues with water supply to the house and a blocked drain, just to keep us on our toes.
Hoping for a better week coming up and more routine.
Slipped off the NSL for 2 days but determined to get back on track.

@merry🍎 what a fun filled life you have!!

@funshipfreddie Jason Fung really talks sense to me, I’m a big fan 👍🏼

Glad you had a good day @bert1802 – one day at a time 🎶🎶 as the song goes. Yes morning activity is the best for me and I find it so hard to fit in later on in a day.

Getting up now to walk with friends. It’s looking rainy but hopefully it will hold off….

    @iona72 I hope things calm soon for you… 🙏

    @ccco – congrats for the 2 lb down! 🎉

@bert1802 – I’m intrigued by just how much you dislike walking! I hope you can come to enjoy it. And it sounds like you’re on your way to doing just that with the morning walks. When you look at all the health benefits it gives us – physically & mentally – it’s definitely not wasting time

@jaifaim – I hope the rain held off for you. Yes, I’m still line-dancing, & still enjoying it 🕺

We’re having wonderful weekend weather here, after last week’s torrential rain. Clear skies today, & going up to 25 C, so I’m off out to rack up some steps🚶

    Day 15 – USA/GA – FD – 241 lbs.

OK, I behaved horribly yesterday. I feasted and feasted. It was completely psychological, knowing I have to fast and drink that awful prep liquid tonight. No, I don’t feel happy that I did it, but here we are. Three pounds heavier over last Sunday morning. With all the stresses going on in life, I just need to remember that I need not punish my body with bad eating to deal with it. I’ll quickly set myself on the proper pathway this week.
