  • I am in my first week of 5:2, doing my second fast day. I struggle with dizziness and irritability. I wanted to go swimming but was concerned about how dizzy I get. Loud noises make me irritable and jumpy. I could easily get cranky if I don’t choose self control with that.
Hunger is not a problem. Iced tea using chamomile, green tea and rosehip tea with lemon and lime juice and sliced ginger is very helpful to satiate any hunger. I’m drinking loads of water as well as plenty of iced tea.
How long does it take to notice any weight loss? How long before dizziness/spaced out feeling passes?

Welcome, Percious. The way I have noticed the weight loss is going down my belt a notch at a time. The dizziness and spaced-out feeling is lessened every week. On Monday, I did a zero cal day for the first time and the dizziness came back in spades.

Good luck. In time you may actually look forward to fasting. I do now. Make me feel in control of my life.

hi limeywestlake. Thanks for your encouragement. My first week down and I’ve lost 3 kgs. I seem to have broken my carb addiction. Dizziness reducing on fast days and mostly gone on food days. Amazing. Have battled with hypoglycemia symptoms most of my life. I never thought I would be able to fast. But I can!

That’s awesome. Keep us posted about your 5:2 journey. I have lost 15lbs in about 10 weeks. I have another 20 to go.

well done. I have lost 4.7 kg in 18 days. Carbohydrate addiction is broken. I have never been able to go more than 3 hours without food due to hypoglycemia. Now I can go 10 hours without food twice a week. Incredible. So simple and so effective.
