  • Hi everyone,
my names Kate, I’m 29 and live in the Uk.
I’m very excited to be here and to maybe have found something maintainable!
I’m excited to be trying Something new. I have tried to lose weight multiple times with varying degrees of success. (At my highest I was 14 stone, so I have had some success but am stuck above 11!) I would just like to find something maintainable and be happy in my own skin . I guess I’m nervous cause I really want this to work and am willing to give it my all,
I did 2 trial fast days to see how I would react….terrible headache was the main thing, but took some advice from here and upped water and drank some chicken stock and felt better the ne t time.

I am 5’2″ andcurrently weigh 11st 9lbs (difficult to type) and have terrible body confidence.
My goal is to get to 9 stone and hopefully be healthier and fitter too.

I just had a few questions, I hope that’s OK in this first thread.

Do people eat their full TDEE? And is it calculated from your current weight or goal weight?

Many thanks everyone. Sorry for the mammoth post,

    Kate

    Hi Kate

    I’m also new here – I’m 54 and 6ft tall, so a bit of a contrast to yourself, i weigh 185lb or 13st 3lb and i really should be 11st 7lb – but I’ll never get there! I’m aiming for 12st.

To answer your question as best I can, most people seem to use their goal weight TDEE as a guide to the 5 days calorie allowance.

I personally didn’t eat the full amount on all 5 days when I successfully did this diet 2-3 years ago and did lose the weight, the exception being Sunday dinner and I usually went over!

I think the important thing is to find your own level, but your goal TDEE is a good starting point to work with.

Hope you do well on this life change – let us know how you get on 🙂

    Hi there GreyMumma,
    Thank you for responding 🙂
That’s great advice. I will start with calls for my goal weight and see how I get on. If I feel that I need more I will have more but just don’t go over my TDEE.
    Thanks again.

Hi I’m starting tomorrow after seeing a work colleague have great success with this diet over the last year. I have some time off work until I start a new job so now seems a good time to get into shape and lose the stone and a halfI have put on since Christmas.
I will watch your progress with interest and hopefully it will keep me focused. Tonight I am weighing in at 11 stone 7 .
    Good luck

    Oh I’m starting tomorrow too!
Having a fast day tomorrow. What are you doing?
I will be watching for you too 🙂 good luck
I’m going to try and do some hit too. :s
    Thanks

Hiya, my TDEE when I started was 1,750 so I set my goal calories to 1,650. In all honesty, I found that I would struggle to hit my target because I think your stomach gets used to not being packed full all the time. Now I’ve lost a substantial amount of weight I’ve dropped my calorie goal to 1,600, but again I usually only reach about 1,450 on a non-fast day, so don’t feel too guilty if I have a bit of a blowout at the weekend.
