  • My basic metabolic rate is 1412 cal and my TDEE is 2189. Does that mean on non fast days I can eat up to 2189 calories? What if I do not want too, do I have to consume that many calories to reach my goal weight which would be 140.

I am 46 years old,I am currently at a weight of 170, and I want to get down to 150 pounds by at least May.

On my fast days I have no problem keeping with in the 500 calories, I even have energy, and I do work out on my fast days.

Can someone help me to understand the TDEE better and the best way to reach my goal by May.

    Thanks in advance!

All weight loss diets work on the same principle which is eat less calories than your body needs. The average weight loss for women following 5:2 is 1lb per week.
Your TDEE is the maximum amount you should eat and it is not necessary to eat that amount if you don’t want to, and if you don’t all the better as you’ll lose weight a little bit faster.

I have calculated my goal weight BMR/TDEE and I try to keep below it so that when I reach my goal I won’t need to make any more adjustments.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for the feedback, Amazon!!!
