Hello, I’m 39 and a mum of two children. I’ve started the fast diet on and off over the past year or two. This time I’m going to make more of an effort to keep it going.
So far, I’ve found it easier the second week than starting off. I’m not so hungry and feel like my body is getting used to it more. I have a bit of weight to lose- I’m short (about 5ft 2) my BMI was 29.9 when I started and now is 29.1 (according to the Tracker on this site). I have also had an illness this week so might have contributed to the weight loss so far.
One thing I have found useful is to go to a cafe on Fast Days which does this Super Salad. It has chicken, avocados, small pieces mango in it along with a lot of greens and sprouting seeds etc. I thing it is probably under 400calories but it is very filling. So if I just have coffee in the mornings and have this around 1pm, I’m nor really hungry again for a few hours. Also, as a mum, it is lovely to have someone else look after you and make it for you. It is a bit expensive, but I’m giving up wine too, so putting the money I’ve saved into this.
In the evenings I sometimes have a bowel of berries (blueberries, strawberries and Total Zero fat yohurt (which is really nice) with a drizzle of honey.
I’m trying to make the Fast Days a ‘treat’ for me also to an myself off seeing carbs like cakes and biscuits a treat…maybe I can make the healthy things a treat and retrain my brain.
