  • I’ve been trying on the fasting occasionally over the past year but haven’t gotten beyond the first week; I found no weight loss so stupidly would change to a different method, i.e. calorie counting then swap to upping the exercise. What has happened is, I’ve put on some weight, not too much as I’m active all the time but enough to start to notice it. I’m happy being comfortable which can be anything from my so called ideal weight to a stone overweight. It’s when I start to notice it, i.e. clothes too tight, huge increase in appetite which leads to me craving and eating the bad (1100 calories on a KFC burger recently, food I don’t normally eat). So, I’m going to stick to it now, no matter what, for three months. I’m going to start the first two weeks with 4:3 although if it’s too difficult, back to 5:2. So glad I found this place to help.

Hi Yoginell, a friend of mine started 5:2 a couple of months ago and lost nothing for first month, then suddenly started losing every week, just stick with it. good luck.

    Hello and welcome,
You may not find weight loss if you up your exercise, but you will be trimmer and will burn more calories even at rest, than if you didn’t.

May I suggest that you measure all vital statistics with weight and a clothes try on once a week? There will be weeks when the scales don’t move, but the inches will shrink. The average weight loss will be at most 1 lb a week.

So, change your goals and be more realistic on what weight you are aiming for in the next 3 months. We all have plateaus, that is part of losing weight. The key is to keep going and ‘see’ the changes.

There are 24 inches/15 lb less of me.

Plan your fast day meals ahead and make sure that you have it in.Food shopping is best avoided on a fast day.

Thanks so much Redswallow, that really helps.

annette52, I will do that, thank you! Starting tomorrow with a really busy day so hoping it will be straightforward. Fingers crossed. 🙂
