  • Hi all, could you tell me if you use low fat or full fat in your food. Or do you mix and match with them both but still staying within your allowance of kcal when not fasting? I was thinking about using more full fat so that I was not getting to much sugar in my food, I know I wont be having as many kcal to eat but surely is better to have less sugar. I am interested in what you all think and what you do.

    Hi pia:

Current research supports eating a high fat diet: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/02/health/low-carb-vs-low-fat-diet.html?_r=0

There are also links on this thread that explain more: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

    Good Luck!

I quit sugar and eat higher fat though still not a great deal. I am not doing low carb but since i tried low carb, i’ve been persuaded that fat is not the enemy.

Fat makes your food taste better and i’ve also read that low fat diets may actually increase cholesterol. (The art and science of low carb).

If you want less sugar in your food, you have to put less in and choose to eat less processed food.

If you cut your total carb intake, you may have to increase your fat intake to make sure you end up with enough energy. This assumes your total calories are no more than you need to start with.

On fasting days, keeping carb foods of the starchy kind low, keeps hunger at bay.
