  • Hey everyone..

So im a very large very short 46 year old man. I have tried every possible diet. Slimming world. Weight watchers. Rosemary collins. Cabbage soup. I even tried a gastric band hypnosis. If i had kept off all the weight i had lost over the years i would now weight 2st!! But instead i weighed in this morning at 19st 12lb. I saw on horizon the infamous show on 5:2 dieting and its really hit the mark. I love food and all the bad stuff too. So i have decided to take the plunge and see if it works. Mondays and thursdays for me. So here goes.

Don’t treat it as a diet. Its an eating pattern that you will do for the rest of your life. Make sure its sustainable. Its Monday today and its my water fast day. Just served up dinner for the family. The temptation is no longer there. I can easily just watch them eat. It gets easier the longer you do this for.

Try and eliminate ALL sugar as well as simple grain based carbs like bread, pasta, pizza, cake biscuits rice etc. Avoid potatoes. Get your carbs from veggies. It will take you about a month to detox from sugar. It will be tough. Wont sugar coat it. After that it gets easier and after about 6 months it gets very easy.

It works if you give it a genuine try. 202 lbs down to 156 lbs and been in maintenance since March. Took a year for me to lose that weight. Good luck.
