Hello. I am new here and looking forward to hearing all of you have to say.
I’m Type 2 diabetic, age 63, live in Canada and wonder how the heck I’m ever going to ‘manage’ fasting! I’m willing to try and I guess willingness is half the battle.

Well Suzy its really up to you whether you want to reverse your T2D or not? Most people that do 5:2 don’t really fast, they just reduce what they eat to a 1/4 of their daily intake. Its really not that hard to do!! Really early on I decided to do water fasts as I found them easier to do than trying to count calories. There are some others on here that do water fasts. Not saying you need to do it, just saying its possible if you’ve got the right mindset.
I highly recommend that you Google Jason Fung and watch his videos on obesity and T2D. I lost 44 pounds, blood pressure has dropped to 120/70, trigs have dropped, HDL has gone up, cholesterol has gone down. My fasting glucose is usually less than 4.5mmol/L.
Give it a try it works.
