  • Day 14 – USA/GA – FD?

Weigh-in: 232 lbs. Planning on a FD today. Only putting a question mark because of the congestion, the retirement of the director of one of our partners, and the ever possible invitation to lunch by my boss. However, all of those put together into derailing my fast today is very low. Still choosing the FD500 over the WFD; weight loss seems slower day-to-day, but looks at this moment to be working long-term when limiting UPFs on NFDs.

I believe I am returning to the land of the living. I was not all that sick, but was sick enough that I did absolutely nothing but sit, knit when I felt like it, and have the TV on for entertainment. I’m up two pounds, but am trusting that with some movement, they’ll fall away again, because I truly did not eat badly.

@bert1802 I’m enjoying the “music” you gave us the link for. It’s soothing and relaxing. I have a real problem believing it’ll cause me to lose weight, but it’s pleasant. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@funshipfreddie Your mosaic class sounds delightful!

I slept well last night, and took the last of my anitibiotic and steroid this morning, so it’s time to see if I can’t get some energy into these bones, tidy up the corner of the sofa I’ve occupied for the last few days, and come to life.

    Have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 14 UK f800

So glad you are feeling a bit better @stitchincarol

    And 🤞 @molij

Been run ragged today with loads of last minute organising DS27 has just shared needs to be done before he goes to Spain for a year Definitely putting time aside tomorrow for a good catch up

    Day 15, Germany, FD

Early ballroom lesson today and then a bit of shopping in the Netherlands.

@excelsior12309 We have good and bad mirabelles years. We don’t spray them either so in some the are full of small wurms, some years we have loads, some years we have hardly any.

@flourbaby What are you going to do with the plums? We are lucky to have neighbours with four children and a baking mum next door, being at a sports club also helps.

@funshipfreddie You are so right, I don’t really need to lose weight, I’m fine at the weight I am. I think I’ll just keep this weight as my maintenance weight and use 5:2 as a way to stay healthy. Thank you for reminding me why I’m doing this, it’s not about being slim but staying healthy.

@flourbaby – Uber laundry – just plain laziness, & an aversion to driving for more than 5 minutes 🥴️ But if you saw the state of our roads, & the way most lunatics drive here?! 😱 I can highly recommend retirement 🏖 Love the quote!

@stitchincarol – good to hear you’re on mend 🤗 The mosaic class was delightful. I’ve got a few ideas of what to do next, & there’s so much info on-line too.

Not in the mood for a FD today, but it’s got to be done. At least the weather’s improved & it’s good walking weather. The wind was awful the whole day yesterday, +75 km/h 🌬

Quick one from me today, deadlines, deadlines!

Yesterday’s NFD went well. I got home late and rather than prepare something I just had a piece of cheese & some nuts, not ideal, but enough to get me through the night and minimal food last night should make today a relatively easy FD🙏🏼

I’m at the house every evening, now the painting is complete, deep cleaning. Had hoped to hire a company, but of the 4 I asked for a quote …………. NONE got back to me!!!😡 Well, I’m happy to apply some elbow grease myself & pocket the cash!🤑 The house is grubby rather than filthy so it should be ok!🤞🏽

    Happy fasting folks!

Day 15 – Glasgow UK, NFD

    Morning all,

I returned to the 5:2 on the 5th August, so 10 days ago.

Last time round (about 10 years ago) I managed to successfully drop 1.5st/10kg/21lbs where I happily sat until the dreaded COVID took hold and all caution was thrown to the wind. My job changed from an active one to a sedentary, home bound one and slowly but surely all the weight I’d lost returned.

Over the last few years I’ve tried keto, high protein, 16:8 diets but none of them worked for me and so I decided to go back to what I know works, and here I am.

I’ve lost 3lbs in 10 days (four FDs so far), so it’s nice to see the scales moving in my preferred direction again. I have found the return to fasting quite enjoyable, maybe it’s the masochist in me, but it’s felt like reconnecting with an old pal! I just hope our relationship is as fruitful this time as it was last.

As a returner it’s so nice to see that the forum is still active and there’s still lots of peer support to be found in these pages.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day from rainy Glasgow!

    Day 15 North Wales NFD

Going to my sisters today until Tuesday. I have contacted the appointment department and they are going to text me an appointment. Will catch up with all the posts later. X

    Day 15 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 229 lbs. I usually have a soup and salad, but yesterday I had about half the salad, a boiled egg, and no soup. I just listened to my body instead of my cravings, realizing that I was satisfied with portion I had. So, probably under 300 calories yesterday.

    Day 15
    Ireland – CD – 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

Hi all! How great it is that you can hop over to the Netherlands to do a spot of shopping @snowflake56 😄 Great to hear that you are happy where you are and I would say the same as @funshipfreddie stay there for a while and see how you are feeling with a FD or two each week to see how well you maintain.
@funshipfreddie the mosaic class does sound really lovely and sociable and fun… all the things tou should have in retirement.. good luck with the FD 👍
@flourbaby same here with tradespeople and services – very hard to contact people and get quotes… it is so frustrating but good for you!!! 💪 🧼
Hi @jospeirs! 3lbs in 10 days is pretty impressive ⭐️ you are well on track. And there are others here who just love the feeling of hunger… you are in good company 😂
    🙏 @molij – enjoy the time away…
    Well done @northgeorgia ⭐️
For me… feeling good although super busy this week … a good controlled day today and then we are back to warrior like mindsets 🏹 this weekend.

Day 15 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

I’m down a few ounces, so movement away from the sofa is clearly helping remove that two-pound sedentary gain. Not feeling fine yet, but functional, so that’s nice.

The good news? Today is DH’s 70th birthday! We have big plans for today, and even bigger plans for Sunday.

The bad news? I woke in the night to see him reading his tablet. Wished him happy birthday. He thanked me. And thanked me with a smile for sharing my covid with him.

    sigh

So now I’m trying to figure out what I can do all at home to make it a special day, and I doubt there’s much, because he is asleep and doesn’t actually feel good.

GAH. There may still be some rescuing of Sunday’s plans, because it turns out he started feeling symptoms on Tuesday, and I was too sick then to notice.

This big milestone is not proceeding as intended…

Oh no @stitchincarol – happy big birthday to your DH 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈there is a whole year to celebrate! 😁

    Day 16, Germany, NFD

The plan was to pick the mirabelles but it seems we have a rainy day today. We’ll see.

@stitchincarol Happy Birthday for your DH! I hope he will feel better on Sunday.

@jaifaim Yes, the weight I am now is fine. I’m used to the FDs now so it should be no problem to do them twice a week, I just have to stick to it and see where it leads me.

@molij Enjoy the time with your sisters, it will be a good distraction.

@funshipfreddie How did your FD go? I forgot to ask, what kind of material did you use to make to make the mosaic, glass or tiles?

    Have a nice day everyone!

    Day 16 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 70.5 kg

@snowflake56 – My FD was a breeze; I hope yours was too. Staying away from sugar/refined carbs is definitely helping to keep the cravings away. I used both to make the mosaic coasters – small purple squares to put around the borders, with a larger diamond-shaped tile in the centre. Then I cut up some glittery mirror tiles to fill in the spaces. And I used sand-coloured grout. I’m going to make a couple more next week. Then I’m thinking of getting a large terracotta pot for my ficus tree & mosaicking the heck out of it 😅

    @jospeirs – 3 lb down in 10 days! 🥳️ 🎯

@flourbaby – that’s crazy?! 4 companies, & not one reply? Good for you – I hope you’ve saved a bundle. I think the worst spot I found after I moved into my place last year was the top of the kitchen cupboards 😱

@northgeorgia – well done! 225 just around the corner 💪

@stitchincarol – oh crikey?! I’m sure you’ll think of something to make Sunday extra-special. And I imagine you’re planning a special celebration for when you both retire later this year too? Happy birthday to your DH 🥳️🎈🥂

    Happy Fri-yay y’all! 🍹

    Day 15 – Ireland – NFD – 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

Have a lovely Friday all! Have actually found a scales in this house but not going to bother weighing… I figure it’s always worth using your own and I feel like I’m still in maintenance zone even though out of my usual routine here. Will see next week when I am back to mine.

This resonated though today @funshipfreddie… it is an easy slippery slope! Thanks for the reminder!

    Day 16 UK NFD

I do love to travel but find it takes me a while to get back to normality when I return , so no fasting this week but the good news is I’ve been steady , showing same on scales so aiming for 2 FDs next week

Oh no I expect Covid wasn’t the gift he was hoping for @stitchincarol I’m sure you’ll be able to make it special 🎉

Loving the mosaic updates @funshipfreddie sounds as though you’ve found inspiration

Finding any kind of trades is a nightmare at the moment @flourbaby Moving in must be fabulous but I don’t envy your task

3lbs in 10 days – if I can get my act together and emulate you I’ll be happy @jospeirs well done 👏

    Have a good Friday all

    Day 16 Mid-Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

It’s lovely to be in Mid-Wales with my sister. They have a beautiful place surrounded by trees and their own wood. Very good for the soul. I am trying to keep busy. We are hoping to do some family history and plan our holiday that we are hopefully having for a week the 7th September. It will depend on what the specialist says on the 3rd. Luckily we have insurance so we will be able to cancel it last minute if we need to. My hospital appointment has come through for the third of September so not too long to wait.

@northgeorgia are you over your congestion yet?

@stitchincarol happy belated birthday to your husband. So sorry to hear he has Covid. I hope he recovers soon so you can celebrate on Sunday. Glad you are feeling a bit better too.

@jaifaim hope your time away is going well.

@merryapple Thank you for the recipe. I have loads of courgettes at the moment so I am going to try it. Thank you for giving the grams as well as the cups. I have always found cups confusing and much prefer recipes that give grams.

@brightonbelle I am like you, when I travel or someone visits me it takes me a few days to get back to the rhythm of FD and NFD’s.

@jospeirs well done on your weight loss. I returned to fasting last month and I too have found it good.

@flourbaby glad your painting is complete. Enjoy the cleaning. I am not keen on cleaning but when I actually start I enjoy it.

@funshipfreddie love the quote today 😂 I like the sound of your mosaic terracotta pot for your fig tree.

@snowflake56 hope the sun comes out later so you can pick your mirabelles.

Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere.

Have a Good Friday everyone and a wonderful weekend

    Day 16 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 231 lbs. My congestion is better than earlier in the week, but still hanging on a bit. I decided to use Flonase last night and will dose again when I get home. I realized I was occasionally getting some phantom smells like of a smoky or stuffy room, so I’m thinking it should with the lingering crud.

COVID is starting to rise again in our area. Scary stuff. Happy Friday!

Day 16 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

All I do are NFDs, but each one has been quite controlled, so once life gets back on track, I’ll be ready to step in again to my regular routine.

We’re having a surprise potluck for DH at church immediately after service on Sunday, and I’ve ordered the cake and balloons and arranged for someone to pick them up and bring them, and think everything is on track. The plan is for a member of the congregation to step into the aisle to stop his progression out of church at the end of service, and for me to play “Happy Birthday” on the organ instead of a postlude. 😂😂😂 Doesn’t that sound like a fun way to say “SURPRISE!”? Now for him to feel better… I still felt non-functional on Wednesday, despite my best determination, and am far better today, so I’m hopeful he goes through the same progression in two days.

@brightonbelle What’s your DS27 going to be doing in Spain for a year? Will you be able to visit him, or will he be able to make visits home?

@snowflake56 Here’s a recipe that I’ve made with regular sized plums and it’s a SERIOUS keeper; it calls for smaller plums and it sounds as if your mirabelles are the size of the small ones it was intended for. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/3783-original-plum-torte?unlocked_article_code=1.DU4.Bpwl.n5BTRFAzQPUr&smid=share-url

@funshipfreddie Your plans for future mosaic classes sound perfect.

@jaifaim Good decision not to weigh on unfamiliar scales: who knows if they’re accurate and whether you’d know for certain. The best you could catch is if you suddenly shoot up or down a few pounds, and that’s the kind of information we need to learn to intuit–and it sounds as if you absolutely are!

@brightonbelle Yeah, traveling is fun for me too, but settling back in isn’t automatic and takes some determined focus.

@molij Enjoy your time at your sister’s; it sounds absolutely lovely!

@northgeorgia I actually heard yesterday that there are no more guidelines/rules on Covid, that it’s being treated as basically a cold, and clinics aren’t bothering to test for it anymore–which would explain why my doctor didn’t test last Saturday.

@excelsior12309 Do you know anything about current guidelines on covid, and practices regarding testing for it?

I had to get some groceries yesterday, and settled on buying DH some ice cream for his birthday treat…LOL, oh how birthday celebrations change with age and with illness when ice cream is the big treat! 😂😂

Have a grand one, everyone! Today, my focus is on enjoying my hunger: it is God’s gift that we can use to enjoy our meals when it’s time, and hunger also means we’re burning fat!

    Day 17 NFD 71.1kg

I think I forgot to push submit on my post y’day…
    I’m off up the Mount…
Catch up soon but have a busy day

    💪 to the WEEKEND WARRIORS!!!

    Day 16 – USA/TN – NFD

    Day 17 NZ 5pm 2nd post

It’s a test match at Eden Park All Blacks vs Pumas from Argentina this evening. The sky is low and it is absolutely bucketing down…
I have just come back from a theatre at the waterfront which was screening a doco on an artist friend who died in 2020. He made dystopian kinetic works using neon, meccano, welded steel etc after starting his career in the 70s doing performances like having a young Dr sewing sheep’s kidneys all over his body… Interesting!!!

@stitchincarol Happy Birthday to your DH!!! I do hope he is feeling up to a party by Sunday!! Your plans certainly sound fun!!
@molij Have a relaxing time with your sister!! The woods sound magical!!
    @northgeorgia🍾🥇Yeah!!!
@funshipfreddie Go ahead and UBER your laundry😁It is a perfect way to deal with it!!!
@brightonbelle OOOH!! A trip to Spain must be on the cards!! Where abouts in Spain? It’s my Holy Grail. I speak BASIC Spanish (without a lisp ie Sth American) and love Spanish recipes!!!
@jaifaim No scales means you focus on what you’re eating. Not a bad thing to do from time to time!!
@jospeirs You’re off to a great start!! Yes liking the feeling of starving oneself is a wee bit on the masochistic side. This is a thought I need to contemplate more closely…!
I failed my Thursday FD because friends took me out for lunch for my wedding anniversary. I have a great big bunch of yellow Daffodils in the house because they were our wedding flowers. They are so cheerful I don’t feel sad when I look at them… I repeated my FD y’day and ended up with friends coming over for chocolate cake and Drambuie… This evening I’m going out to dinner and have just heard fish and chips are on the menu…
    My Steely Resolve is weakening…

    🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹🏹

Hi all, a very quick post from me this morning. I always knew these middle two weeks would be busy …

@merryapple I’m thinking of you 🌼🌼🌼 and your lovely Billy Apple 🍎. Surround yourself with those friends and precious memories – you seem so strong most of the time but I’m sure there are difficult days too so thinking of you 💕🌼💕How lovely to have daffodils around you. So bright and beautiful!

Of course when we mention daffs🌼 I think of @daffodil2010 – hello out there our lovely friend 🇮🇪🌼👋

    Onward and downward ⬇️
We rise by lifting others 💕

    Day 17 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

@merryapple – you’ve been doing so well; hold onto the wagon! We’ve still got two whole weeks of Atomic August left. As someone else wrote recently, ‘Don’t give up what you want most for what you want now’. I think that includes Drambuie & chocolate cake 😛

    @stitchincarol – that’s a lovely idea, & sounds like something your DH won’t forget in a hurry 🎈🥂

@molij – love the quote about worrying, so true! Enjoy your time with your sister.

I’m finally getting a new phone today – for free! The phone I’m using is about 5 years old & is getting slower & slower, to the point where I want to launch it through a window. I recently found out it only has 2 GB RAM, so I’ve been using an even older phone that works okay, but is staying in one piece with masking tape 😅 So I called into the phone shop yesterday, expecting to cough up a small fortune. But the lady told me, ‘you were due a free upgrade – 3 years ago!’ Duh.

    Have a good weekend everyone 🌤 🌈

“The sugar you eat today is the sugar you crave tomorrow”.

    Day 17 Mid-Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Eating too much at my sisters so I need to be careful. We went out for a delicious Indian curry last night. Curry is a favourite of mine but I have to make sure I don’t eat it too late in the evening. We are going to a garden centre this morning. I do love a good garden centre.

@northgeorgia glad your congestion is getting better. I take Flixonase for mine. I have suffered with allergic rhinitis for years.

@stitchincarol your surprise pot luck sounds lovely for your husband. I hope he feels well enough to go.

@merryapple sounds like you have had a lovely time with friends recently. Happy anniversary, I love daffodils. We grow loads of different varieties in our garden. Hopefully you will be able to have a FD soon. Enjoy your fish and chips tonight. I usually choose that if it’s on the menu. Luckily I don’t go out for dinner very often and I don’t cook it at home 😂

@funshipfreddie brilliant news about your phone and all for free 😃

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

    Day 17 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 230 lbs. Actually, it rocked back and forth between that and 231. Which means another weekend resulting in a little weight loss after a refeeding NFD Friday 🙂

Tomorrow is a 50th anniversary celebration of one of my mom’s closest friends, so I’ll wait until Monday for my next FD. The congestion is slowly getting better each day.

    Day 18, Germany, NFD

We had a great day working in the garden yesterday. The plan was to pick more mirabelles but we did other things, so today we try to pick them. They are so high on the tree, I’m not sure we can reach them. This morning we’re going to the flea market at the sports club, it’s always fun and they always have delicious cakes.

@merryapple How lovely you friends took care of you on your wedding day!

@stitchincarol Thanks for the recipe, it looks like something the Germans bake. Have a great day today celebrating your DH’s birthday, I hope he feels better by now.

@funshipfreddie Don’t get to carried away with the mosiacs! On Channel 4 I saw a woman who tiled everything in her house, it looked great.

@molij Don’t think too much about your weight, just enjoy the time you spend with your sisters.

@jaifaim Weighing on different scales is useless as you’re never sure if they are precise and your mood sinks if you’re way higher.

My breakfast is being served, so I have to stop.

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

    Day 18 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

Switching phones is NOT for the faint-hearted, but I think it’s sorted 🥴️

@snowflake56 – enjoy the market. I can understand mosaic-making becoming addictive; but the whole house?! 😂 I’m sure I won’t go that far. Not inside anyway 😳

@stitchincarol – I hope your DH is feeling better & that his birthday celebration is fun 🥂🎂

It’s a glorious sunny day here today, so I’m off out. Have a lovely S🌞nday everyone

    Pocket List – Day 18 🥚
    @funshipfreddie

    Day 18-No. VA USA-FD

Well, weight has gone down about 1/2 pound, so I will take a decrease after being in the doldrums for a while. This persistent hot humid weather makes outside activities difficult. @snowflake56, I definitely need you to hop a plane and come to Virginia and weed my garden!!! Flowers are profuse, but weeds are , also, particularly thorny types that need gloves to pull up.

@stichincarol, I am glad you are feeling better now. The CDC.gov website has a page dedicated to preventing spread of respiratory viruses when you are sick; in essence, you stay away from others until your fever is gone for 24 hrs without use of medications, and then for the next 5 days, “take precautions” such as wearing a mask, avoiding large gatherings, being outdoors or in well-ventilated spaces, etc. They are trying to use the same recommendations for Covid, flu, and RSV viruses to limit confusion. If people have no fever, but feel crummy, they should stay home until they feel better, and then may mingle. We are definitely getting more frequent reports of Covid infections here.

@funshipfreddie, your mosaic adventure sounds like fun. I expect your homeowner’s group would frown on your covering your house with mosaics, but there are some interesting articles online about such houses!

@merryapple, so interesting to think of daffodils in August; of course your seasons are the reverse of ours. Now is the time for us to order bulbs which would be planted in November and bloom in March. I always try to order some, but I tend to over-do and then have 200 holes to dig when I won’t feel like doing it!

    Day 18 – USA/GA – NFD

    Weigh-in: 232 lbs. I might even do a B2B FD tomorrow/Tuesday, as I’m doing the FD500s again.

    Day 18 UK NFD

Had a delicious plant based Indian meal out with friends last night unfortunately that lead to far too many cocktails after 🍹so paying the price with a sore head today

Plan on a good FD tomorrow 💪

Hopefully got most of my sons stuff sorted , he’s going to work in a school as a teaching assistant, teaching English it’s in a fairly remote part of Galicia , a part of Spain I’m not too familiar with so looking forward to visiting once he’s settled

Line-dance class at 10:00 am and then I’ll go in the garden to do more weeding. Last Saturday I had a very playful jumping mouse near me all the time, it lives on the slope from the terrace to the garden. When I’m weeding that area it jumps out of it’s hole.

Only picked ~3 kg mirabelles yesterday, there are still so many left on the tree but we can’t reach them.

@lilymartin Welcome back! I’m sorry to hear you had such a rough time, I hope you are better now.

@excelsior12309 I’ll be happy to come over to you and do a bit of weeding! We have the same problem with bulbs, we buy them but never like to plant them.

We are back in the grip of winter with gale force freezing winds, snow in the high country, flooding and multiple chilly rainy fronts blowing through🥶 But I did get a walk in first thing!!
My erratic behaviour is showing up with the result of no losses… Time to get serious for the rest of the month!! I went shopping this morning and the fridge is full of fresh fruit, vegetables and lean protein so now I have no excuses…

@lilymartin I’m so pleased to see you!! And hope you are now well recovered… I recall you driving long distances for your work as well as having farming duties… Welcome back!!
@jaifaim Thank you…I try. A life well lived is always a cause for celebration with daffodils!! I do wonder how our Daffodil friend is getting on too as well as @penz.
@metatauta You must be getting close to your maintenance destination!!
@brightonbelle Luckily I ate fish and chips with one beer and one glass of Rosé… I was breathalysed 5 mins from home and passed counting from 1-10 into the device… Whew!! And it meant I bounced out of bed and went for my Sunday bike ride too!!
Didn’t Asterix and Obelix and Dogmatix come from Galicia or maybe they just visited!!!
@northgeorgia What goes up must come down!!
@excelsior12309 Thorns are a step up from prickles😬And you have hornets!! But if you manage to plant 200 plus bulbs every year Spring must be wonderful in your garden!!
@funshipfreddie I agree with @snowflake56. Decorating the outside of your house would be so much fun starting with the white gate!!! Or a birdbath which Boo Boo would enjoy!!
A free phone upgrade?? Wow!! They must be charging you extra on something else?!
@molij As long as the food is nutritious and eaten at mealtimes you’ll be fine!! It’s the EXTRA cheeses, chips and dips that do us in!!!
@stitchincarol Thank you for the link to the NYT’s Plum Torte. I have taken a copy. What an amazing history that accompanies it!!! I’m not sure my abundence of grapefruits will work but it’s the apple season here sp I’ll try that!!
I hope your DH is able to enjoy his 70th and all the well deserved attention that I’m sure he is attracting!!!
@flourbaby must be in the depths of either cleaning or moving??!!

All in all I hope everyone is on good form, has had a good weekend and is gearing up for the last 12 days of immaculate 5:2 behaviour!!

    Day 19 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 70.4 kg

What glorious weather we had yesterday! I did a lot of walking by the sea, could’ve stayed out there all day. My FD was a breeze. I stopped at a local café early afternoon for a coffee. I was sat at a table, catching up on my Scrabble games, when a waitress suddenly placed a large slice of Black Forest gateau in front of me. I told her I hadn’t ordered anything, but she said, “it’s on the house” 😳 Just my luck to be offered free gateau on a FD 😅 So I told her I appreciated the offer, but I couldn’t eat it. She probably thought, ‘ungrateful wretch’, but she just smiled & removed it. Phew!

@lilymartin – welcome back! So sorry to hear you’ve been ill, & having to quit work?! But it might be the best thing for your health to retire earlier than expected, especially if you work shifts 🤗

@merryapple – No losses – but no gains either. I just know you’re going to dip below 70 this month 🎯 Boo Boo would enjoy the birds, but not the bath! 😅 I’m definitely going to spruce up my patio area with some mosaics, but tastefully, so as not to incur the wrath of the trustees 😛 No, my monthly phone charge is virtually unchanged. I can’t believe how they manage to keep improving these gadgets?! The new one has 4 times the storage space of my old one, + double the memory.

Sending RESOLVE to the Monday fasters 💪🎯

    Day 19 UK FD

It’s Monday – it’s FD 💪. I really need to take a leaf out of your book @funshipfreddie – refusing free cake !! but I guess that’s why you’re in maintenance and I’m not

You sound to have had a rough time @lilymartin – welcome back

Realistic revised goal for August – to finish lower weight than started and then I’m gearing up for September no trips so I can put all effort into achieving an actual loss rather than the yo-yoing of recent months

Sending RESOLVE to the Monday fasters 💪🎯

    Day 19 – Glasgow, Scotland – FD

Fast Day for me. Hopped on the scales this morning to check that the weekend hadn’t inflicted too much damage – it did not, yay.

Got a reasonably busy day today, plenty to keep me distracted til tea time when I’ll enjoy some homemade veggie chilli and a modest portion of brown rice!

Good luck everyone fasting today and to those on an off day – enjoy!!

    Day 19 Mid-Wales NFD

    Day 19 – USA/GA – FD

Weigh-in: 233 lbs. It was a messed up day with the anniversary celebration, and I did a bad thing, bingeing a few Doritos and crackers while watching a series at night on TV (mom’s house). Horrible precedent to set! I’m going to have to bring my own “snacks” like carrots or something.

Planning on a FD today and maybe tomorrow. Will be a tough couple of weeks, I turn the big 5.0. on Saturday, so I’m sure surprise celebrations lurk…

Day 19 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

Drum roll, everyone! First, I haven’t said, but my weight has been fluctuating between 163-something and 164-something for the last two weeks. So, remember I’ve been saying I’ve been eating very decently? Well on Saturday (right before I drove to an all-day retreat, which is why I didn’t have time to post that morning), I was astonished to be down to 162.4–I had eaten very minimally on Friday and ignored Every. Single. Snack. on Friday evening at the beginning of the retreat. 😇😇😇😇 After eating more generously than I intended on Saturday (but still quite decent in my choices), I was up to 164.4 on Sunday. But this morning, after eating minimally yesterday (of all days, since that’s when we celebrated DH’s birthday), I am again 162.4. So that means I’ve lost actual pounds, not just water weigh like I do on a WFD! I’m totally chuffed!

And DH feels quite decent and yesterday went PERFECTLY. In fact, here, see for yourself: https://www.facebook.com/stmatthewchurchcedarbluffs/videos/468277402689455 Go to 1:15:15 or so, and that’s when he finds out. And that’s me that hollers “Pastor Staub.” The congregation was so very, very pleased that the surprise was indeed a surprise, and so was my husband and it was simply fun, fun, fun. After the potluck at church we hung out for a bit at home, then went down to Lincoln with our two sons, and drank a bit, ate a bit, played pinochle a bit, then came home. Totally fun day that my husband enjoyed tremendously well.

So, WHEW, we got through it with decent health, and now we get to move on to regular life again. 😉

@lilymartin Welcome back, but I’m so sorry you’ve been in the hospital; I hope whatever it was is now dealt with and gone. ❤️

@merryapple Happy Anniversary to you, and I’m saying WHEW! right along with you that were were able to pass the breathalizer test.

@funshipfreddie Wow, to be given free cake AND to return free cake? Amazing and impressive! And new phones are indeed overwhelming and intimidating, but once you’ve got everything sorted, they’re so amazing; enjoy!

@northgeorgia We’ll celebrate with you on Saturday!

DH’s mom was supposed to be moved to a memory care facility today (from her assisted living facility), but the staff was unable to wake her up yesterday morning, so now the move is on hold, very possibly permanently, and there’s even talk of hospice. We’re still driving over there (it’s about 50 minutes away) for the big family pow-wow of what to do, and to see her.

At some point, life will return to boring; I’m looking forward to it!

    Have a grand one, everyone!

I’ve been getting better and better at adhering to this sentiment, and am also working at eating only when at a hunger level 3: “Don’t give up what you want most for what you want now.”

    Day 19, London, UK, NFD

Sorry I’ve been MIA lately, yes @merryapple, I’m snowed under with moving & cleaning!!😩😵🥵

Also, it doesn’t help when, like you,. I forget to press the submit button, Friday’s post is somewhere in the ether and the weekend was a carpet cleaning, storage clearing nightmare!!!

Sufficed to say …………….. I’m exhausted🥱, but I can just about see that light at the end of the tunnel if I squint! FD tomorrow, I’m with y’all even if I forget to post!🙄

Welcome back @lilymartin, I hope whatever ailed you has moved swiftly along!🙏🏼
