    154.5lbs

@snowflake56 ah yes I remember those biscuits! Unfortunately off the menu for me now anyway as I am gluten intolerant…that doesn’t make eating a whole pack any better though as there are not necessarily less calories…
I had a good FD yesterday so back into maintenance range. The goal is not to move up out of it so I need to keep an eye…
@stitchincarol my gosh… so much music! And an enormous spreadsheet – what a job!
Hi to those checking in! Great to see you @ccco and @metatauta 👋
@northgeorgia it is great that your body is in tune with your goal!! Seems mostly a drop direction looking at your trend… 💪

@flourbaby like you… I’m tight on time and focus this week too … you’ve got this!

@funshipfreddie and @snowflake56 I’m off to look up your dances now… this forum is so educational 🌎

So.. one thing I’m not sure I’ve experienced is the joy of feeling hungry that some of you report … my aim … next week is to see if I like that feeling… or not… I don’t know if I will…. But I am curious 🤔

Hi to all the Atomic August gang…. Even if you are not posting I know you are there and we’ll see you soon. ⭐️

Super busy day today involving work, travel, a service later in my hometown remembering one of my beautiful friends who passed recently… I’ve lost three beautiful friends this year to cancer.. it’s been a sad year but all phenomenal people gone way too soon (all in their 50s). It makes me realise how precious this one life is and how lucky we are. I am grateful!

    Day 9 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 69.8 kg

I thought I’d struggle with yesterday’s FD after having one on Tuesday too, but it was a doddle. Doddle = Brit speak for very easy 😅 Below 70 kg for the first time in a couple of months 🎯

@jaifaim – why did you buy those those biscuits?! I wouldn’t dare 😱 I’m impressed that you actually let them sit there for so long 🍪

@stitchincarol – something tells me @northgeorgia would be horrified if he reached the 120’s! 🤣

@snowflake56 – I’m dying to learn the Jerusalema. I heard that was one of the first dances our group learned after the lock-down, which was a couple of years before I moved here. I think I’m going to learn it myself via YouTube, & then persuade our group to start doing it again. I just Googled Bastogne biscuits; they look both delicious & deadly, & they’re available on Amazon for…$14!

    Happy Fri-yay y’all! 🍹

    Day 9, London, UK, NFD

Yesterday’s FD went a bit off the rails, self-sabotage!! I never know why I just end up saying “Sod it!!”, especially at 7pm!!!😡😡 I’ll need to look out for the triggers!

@funshipfreddie and @snowflake56 I’m envious of your dancing, perhaps once I’ve moved in I can look for a local class, although coordination is NOT my strong point!!🤭🤣

    I refuse, Refuse, REFUSE to Google those biscuits!!😓 @funshipfreddie, you’re a braver (wo)man than I am!!!

@stitchincarol, I’m exhausted just reading about your music task!! Well done on completing it, as a professional procrastinator, I guess I would still be talking to myself about how to START it!!😁😁

Ok, back to work, I’m sooo happy it’s Friday, not wanting to wish my life away, but at 5pm I get to think/sort/do house stuff!!!

    Keep the faith folks💓

    Day 9 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 232 lbs. Oops, did I make a typo again? LOL! I want to get into the 100s really bad but not that bad 🙂 Cut me off at 150 please!

Day 9 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

Oops, nope, @northgeorgia, the typo was all mine: 220s not 120s, LOL!

Just to clarify, I started my organ index back in the late 90s, and have printed off new ones every few years with the addition of new music. I did lots of fussing with some of the details this time, which required me to look at what wasn’t clear on my printed copy, and then open the file cabinet to see what the music actually was, and that was the great feeling of accomplishment that I finished it. And, @snowflake56, I do indeed struggle not to buy new music: it’s a delicate balance between it being an obsession, and new music fueling my enthusiasm for playing for church every Sunday. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was aware of a slightly uncomfortable throat when I went to bed last night, and this morning it’s red and raw and my voice is only half there. I’m hopeful this goes away as fast as it came on, whatever it is, but it’s certainly removed most of my interest in chatter.

    @merryapple Wherefore art thou???????

    Have a grand one, everyone!!

    USA. Day 9 FD

I guess I am out of practice in following this program. I truly did lose weight due to my medial issues but now, I seem to be faltering and regain! 🤨. Well I am starting a new pocket list and, with fervor, I am back on the wagon!

    Pocket List Day 9

    @ccco

    Here’s to a lovely day!

    second post

@ccco Tell us about your FDs and your successes and in what way you’re faltering. I’m a bit concerned that you posted you were fasting on Day 5, 7, 8, and now 9–a few days each week is healthy, but four days out of five is extreme for anyone, and as tiny as you are (you’re below 120lbs, right?) and given the health challenges you faced in June, are you sure you’re getting enough of the nutrients you need? And protein? How many calories are you eating on your FDs? What foods are you eating? Please forgive me if I’m overstepping, but I’m truly apprehensive for you. ❤️

Day 9 North Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 FD

I had a lovely time with my youngest daughter and her family despite the weather not being very good. They all went home this morning so I am doing my fast day today instead of yesterday. I have eaten quite a lot over the last few days so it’s going to take a good few fast days to undo all the damage I have done. I also need to get back to not drinking alcohol in the week. I have had a very stressful morning trying to sort out my neighbours continuous glucose monitor. He is 91. He gave me a phone number to try and order a replacement. 4 phone calls later and still no success I had to resort to ringing his surgery. That was a palaver too. Anyway it’s sorted now. Why do they make things so difficult for the elderly. 😩

@fatrabbit I loved the book called the Salt Path, such an inspiring story. I follow them on instagram too. Have you read the second book?

@bert1802 hope your ducks are getting back into a straight line this month.

@metatauta I hope you have got your grips with your new iPhone. I love the iPhone. I bought a new one recently so I could take loads of photos of our new granddaughter.

@northgeorgia I do hope you are better now.

@excelsior12309 sorry your weight is stuck. Hope you get some losses soon.

    @merryapple I love a salty hit but I hate marmite 🤢

@stitchincarol hope you feel better soon. Well done for your 3lb drop.

@flourbaby it’s horrible when you self sabotage a FD, you go all day without food and then go silly in the evening. I too need to be aware of the triggers that cause it.

@funshipfreddie well done for getting below 70kg.

@jaifaim so sorry to hear about the loss of 3 dear friends to cancer. Cancer is such a cruel disease. I lost a dear friend too last November to cancer. I still can’t believe she has gone 😢 Alcohol too affects me and makes me make poor food choices.

@snowflake56 I try really hard never to buy biscuits or cakes. To be fair I am not really tempted by them. I can resist chocolate too if I eat some at least once a week. Crisps and nuts are another matter though, I really do crave them at times.

    @jospeirs welcome to the group.

@brightonbelle have a lovely time in Porto.

    @ccco I echo @stitchincarol concerns

Have a brilliant day everyone. Remember we are stronger than we think 💪💪💪💪💪💪

    Day 9 – UK – FD800

First FD managed since Day 1 (apologies to those who kindly added me to the FD pocket lists I had planned to do) – summer is such a busy time, unexpected visitors and too much socialising – more visitors this weekend, distant family visiting from Australia so today’s FD was much needed before their arrival tomorrow

Had a fab 1/2 day Pilates workshop yesterday using a stability ball for a full body workout – certainly challenges your balance and also activates your core as a result!! no flare ups of my sciatica, although my teacher was very good 🤗 at advising me throughout to avoid certain moves that might trigger things

    @wriggler and @jospeirs – welcome on board
@merryapple – I suspect it was the length of the journey and my physio agrees, her advice is to have a 10 min walk about every 1-1.5hrs of driving in the future, which I will certainly adhere to as this episode was not much fun – glad to report that I seem to be back to normal – will test it tomorrow with a longer hike involving a climb 🤞
@stitchincarol – we are so lucky where we live to have 5 x Michelin Star restaurants within a 5 mile radius and several others including a 3 star one about 20 miles away – it’s always nice to have a treat for birthdays and our wedding anniversary…..

Must try to log on daily as this seems to help me stay in control and motivates me 😇

    USA. Day 9. FD

My FD did not go well. It’s much harder now because I buy snacks for my grandchildren and then I eat them. Before I had grandchildren, I didn’t eat snacks because I had no need to eat them. Now I have to hope the children like to eat things that I don’t like! LOL. Tomorrow is another day! 👍🏻

@funshipfreddie – that’s a very valid question! I didn’t buy them 😂 Friends brought them over when visiting months ago and I put them on the highest shelf (there are two other packs) as I have coeliac friends so good to have if people visit… might rethink this 😂
    Late night. Wonderful day. 💕

    Day 10, Germany, NFD

@stitchincarol I hope your throat will be better soon.

@molij I didn’t buy the biscuits, my DH buys them because he likes them but I eat them. I eat a few nuts every day in yoghurt with berries, it prevents me to nibble on unhealthier things like biscuits.

@flourbaby Just give it a try when you have any spare time in the future, my coordination isn’t very good either but it’s a good practice.

@funshipfreddie The Bastogne biscuits aren’t expensive in the Netherlands, only ~ €1,75 (is this 35,01 ZAR?).This one is good to try out Jerusalema https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11e4sW-Q4Ns

    @jaifaim Any cycling this weekend?

    @ccco Please take care!

@at Lucky you, the only good restaurant we have here is an Italian one.

    Have a nice weekend everyone!

    Day 10 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

@at – good to ‘see’ you! I hope your Day 9 FD went well.

@jaifaim – I find the whole coeliac/gluten intolerance situation very interesting. I swore myself off bread years ago, after reading ‘Wheat Belly’ & ‘Grain Brain’. It has gradually crept back into my diet, but I usually stick to rye bread. Apparently even some people with a gluten intolerance can tolerate rye or sourdough bread. Some researchers believe that eating gluten can potentially increase the risk of memory loss, dementia symptoms and Alzheimer’s.

@flourbaby – my co-ordination isn’t so great either. I nearly threw in the towel after a few lessons, because I felt like such a prat! There are so many different dances, it’s a bit overwhelming at first. The others have been doing it for years, so you’re not going to pick it all up in 5 minutes. But then I found some really good YouTube tutorials. It’s so much easier being able to practise alone. You start to see that there are a lot of common steps, & you get used to some of the terminology, e.g. grapevine, scuff & hitch. Give it a whirl! 💃

@snowflake56 – One good Italian restaurant – I think that’s all I need 🤪 Yes, €1,75 is about R 35. Much better than US$14! Buying cookies on-line is not a good idea 😅 That’s a great video, thanks! And 385 million views! It’s a remarkable coincidence that they’re all wearing white/denim 🤔 You’d think they could’ve put down the snacks first though; talk about eating on the go?! 🤣 Not sure I’d pick up the moves from watching that though. I need funshipfreddie-style baby steps:-
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtuVWAQzGtE&t=5s

@stitchincarol – urgh, a sore throat?! Few things are worse; I hope it’s easing up 🤗

@molij, @fatrabbit, I was just checking out ‘The Salt Path’, because a friend’s birthday is coming up & I think she’d enjoy it. Apparently it’s being made into a movie, starring Gillian Anderson & Jason Isaacs

    Have a great weekend everyone 🌤 🌈

    Day 10 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 230 lbs. That’s right, after two days of not fasting, I hit my lowest weight of the week this morning LOL!

I am slowly getting better… this congestion is hanging on for dear life, no matter what I do, but other than that I’m fine. Monday will probably be my next FD.

Day 10 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

My sore throat and laryngitis got even worse overnight, so I drove to the clinic first thing this morning and came home with an antibiotic to fight the infection (not strep, thankfully) and a steroid to restore my voice and ease the sore throat. I don’t feel fine yet, but I can make a sound, so that’s good as far as I’m concerned. DH may possibly be inclined to quote our friend from years who said, in similar circumstances, “All good things must come to an end,” but he’s wise enough to keep those possible thoughts to himself. 😂

I ate so little yesterday since nothing appealed against that throat that I’m down a few ounces today; I’m working hard to stick to Hunger Level 3 today, and not go nots.

I’ll try to read and post tomorrow; have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 10
    Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

Hi all, no cycling today… a leisurely walk with my sister and catch up afterwards with the rest of my siblings.
@stitchincarol I hope you feel better soon. 😂 I’m sure your DH is missing your chatter 😂
    And @northgeorgia I’m glad you’re feeling a little better.
@funshipfreddie yes it’s a super interesting subject and there is no doubt that gluten affects me currently and I don’t doubt that if I reverted back to eating it I would have serious issues in the future. It’s my head, brain etc rather than stomach or digestive issues.. it’s the one thing I am absolutely 100% committed to staying away from (well cigarettes too but that’s been 24 years). There is NO chance I would knowingly choose food which contains gluten now.. although from time to time I am accidentally “glutened” (because gluten is in so many foodstuffs) and I know all about it within about 8 hours max. For me, it results in debilitating headaches, loss of focus and brain fog, low motivation, clumsiness, dexterity.. I think how I’m affected is actually “gluten ataxia” but I do not have a formal diagnosis nor am I a medic 😂
@molij well done on assisting your elderly neighbour- I was saying to a friend recently how difficult it must be for older people now as everything is online or worse, on a phone app… it can be such a pain even for those of us who like technology. It doesn’t bode well for us in the future – does it? Yes it has been one tough year – I actually can’t believe all three are gone to be honest… friends from different stages in my life but all gregarious, supportive, incredible human beings. I am so very sorry for your recent loss too💕💕

Day 11 North Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Stressful morning, I went on an 18 mile bike ride and about 9 miles from home I got a flat tyre. It was completely flat. I had a 1 pm hospital appointment today so I knew I couldn’t push it home as I would not get to the hospital in time. We don’t have a bike rack on any of our cars and without the front wheel being removed there was no way of getting the bike into the car. I called my husband to come and rescue me and my son in law to get him to explain how to remove the front wheel. It was the back wheel that had gone flat. Luckily a cyclist went past and he was able to take the front wheel off so we could get the bike in the car. The bike is an electric bike, big and heavy so it was a bit of a struggle. We made it home safely and I was on time for my hospital appointment. I am so glad this happened on a Sunday. If it had happened in the week there would not have been many fellow cyclists around.

@northgeorgia glad you are getting better.

@stitchincarol glad you have been given antibiotics, hopefully the sore throat and laryngitis will get better soon.

@funshipfreddie I will definitely watch the film of the Salt Path I love Gillian Anderson. It is a brilliant book so I am sure your friend will enjoy it.

@snowflake56 glad you didn’t buy the biscuits 🍪🤪

@at glad you have not had any flare ups with your sciatica.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone ☀️

Day 11 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

I’m up a pound or so, which I suppose is merely food-bulk because I had three meals yesterday, because I wanted those pills in me as soon as possible, and I was firmly enjoined to take them both with food. My meals were otherwise entirely reasonable, and today, I’m back to no breakfast.

I don’t feel particularly good, however. Was at church by 7:45 as usual, played for the 9am service, it was done at 9:55 and I was home by 10am. I never just leave and am never home by 10, but I don’t wish this crud on anyone, so I just took myself away from everyone, which made me sad because the grandkids of one of my friends are visiting (grown, with kids of their own) from Michigan and I so love visiting with them. Sad…

    And that’s my chatter.

    Have a grand one, everyone.

    Day 11 – USA/TN – NFD

@molij hope all went well at the hospital and glad to hear a fellow cyclist helped you out…. Most are more than happy to help other cyclists in distress… 🆘♥️
Had a little cycle today… needs to clear my head.
    See you all tomorrow!
Well done as always to the Sunday fasters!!!

    Day 12, Germany, FD

My weight doesn’t shift very much and my motivation is slipping. Line-dance this morning then picking mirabelles, we have loads of them this year.

@merryapple Where are you? I hope everything is fine and you’re just busy.

@molij That must have been stressful, I’m glad it turned out well.

@stitchincarol I hope you feel better soon!

@funshipfreddie Yours is a better video to learn the steps, she’s good!

Yesterday’s FD was different than usual, when I had lunch at the mall. Just a cheese & tomato omelette – no toast of course. Then I had an apple & some soup in the evening. Around 700 cals.

@snowflake – she is good! I like her phrase, “if you’re moving, you’re doing it right” 😅 Maybe read something fasting-related to boost your motivation? Jason Fung’s ‘The Obesity Code is excellent. Only the last chapter is dedicated to fasting, but it’s worth reading.

@flourbaby – I hope your decorating is going okay & that your move date is on schedule. Five more days?

I’ve got two weeks worth of laundry to schlep to town, so I’m going to get moving. Sending RESOLVE to the Monday fasters 🎯💪 Remember – it’s just food! 😛

    Day 12
    Ireland – FD – 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

Hi all, let’s face the week head on …
@snowflake56 i hope the line dancing works to re-motivate you today – it will be fun in any case 💃🏻. How lovely to have a day of fruit picking planned! Yummy!
Yes I have a lot going on at the moment… between some staff pressures which are manageable but make it a little more difficult to plan right now and then my own normal life pressures.. I’m on the road a lot as need to be with mum more now as her illness progresses (I do have siblings who help…) so my car is always packed with what I might need. I’m lucky to have many places to stay at my home place if I need to work etc but it’s not quite like being in your own house/home office. So yes, I feel like a nomad and I wasn’t cut out for that even if I do love travel 😉 Precious times with my maman though so it is all worth it. 💕💕
Good FD @funshipfreddie ⭐️ yes you are so right! It is just food! There is very little to tempt me here today so hopefully I can make it a good one! No scales here either so will be clueless until next week I think…

    Day 12 NZ 10pm Monday! FD 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Hello everyone! Time just slipped away on me because of a busy schedule. I’m working on Billy’s exhibition which is taking up a lot of my time in quite varied ways. I am also being entertained by friends😄… I need to learn to do a quick check in and not worry too much if I cannot respond to everyone!! I do enjoy the posts and have had an enjoyable evening reading them all to catch up! This evening I have made a chocolate zucchini cake with horrendously calorific icing for my Texas friend’s birthday. I have to make sure he leaves with all of it!!

Well done @funship Freddie for dipping under the 70kg mark!! I’ll be trying to catch you in the second half of this month😁
@jaifaim It’s lovely you remember your dear friends… I think the best thing we can do is let them inspire us to live our lives well🙂
@flourbaby The easiest solution is to put yourself to bed before the clock chimes 7pm🤣!!
@stitchincarol I hope your laryngitis improves soon. In the meantime I’m sure you’ll let your fingers do the talking!!!😂
@molij I dread having a puncture!! I must ask the AA if they look after ebikes!! So nice that you had help from a passing biker. The ebikes are rather heavy… I managed a bike ride first thing on Sunday morning to a dog park for a walk with the gang followed by coffee and my favourite cheese scone!!
@northgeorgia You’re so close to cracking the 230s!!! An old guy told me this morning that there is a big fish in a tank at a local bar down the road that is 40 years old and is crazy about bananas!!
@snowflake56 Just keep at it. A loss will happen!! What are mirabelles?! I was slightly mystified by everyone eating and carrying their plates during the line dance but it did look fun!!
@at So many Michelin stars so close by!!! What temptation!!
@ccco I’m with @stitchincarol You take care and maybe get some advice from your medical team. It’s not a time to be chastising yourself when you’re in recovery mode. Just make sure you’re eating good nutritious food!😘

    Steely Resolve!!!
Have a good day everyone. I’m off to bed!!

    Day 12 – USA/GA – FD?

Weigh-in: 232 lbs. Ugh, I wish I could shake this congestion! Anyway, other than that I’m feeling fine.

I might crack the 230s again today, if the FD goes as planned. Lately, it’s just been a couple of pounds or a little less, which means I might get to 231 or 230 at best. But one never knows! If I did a WFD, I’m sure I would — but I’ve found my weight doesn’t go insane if I stick to 500 calories or less on FDs. I probably will try some occasional WFDs in the future, but not while I’m sickly 🙂 According to what happened in July, I’m approaching a whoosh period where my average weight should drop a few more pounds, which should put me averaging 229 in September. Fingers crossed!

My weight is like gasoline/petrol prices. It goes down a penny at a time, but goes up a quarter of a dollar overnight 🙂

Another stressful day, I went to the Doctors this morning to get the results of my scan yesterday. I have been referred for an urgent 2 week appointment with a specialist which is a worry. Trying to stay focused on my fast day and hoping the appointment comes through quickly as I am going away in 3 weeks for a fortnight.

@northgeorgia hope your congestion goes soon and I hope you get a whoosh period.

@stitchincarol hope you are feeling better. So sorry you missed your friends grandchildren.

@funshipfreddie enjoy your laundry. Not one of my favourite jobs.

@snowflake56 hope your motivation picks up. What are you going to do with your mirabelles?

@jaifaim it’s so hard being on the road a lot when your parents are ill. I used to travel frequently to see my Mum when she was ill. I used to go at the weekend because I was working all week and the Friday traffic was always horrendous. It used to take me 4.5 hours instead of the 3 hours it should have taken. Glad you have siblings to help.

@merryapple your chocolate zucchini cake sounds lovely. I would love the cake but not the icing as I don’t really like icing. I do however love cream.

@funshipfreddie & @snowflake56, I’ll certainly have a look for a local class once I’ve moved in and FINALLY settled into my new home, although knowing me, I’ll find a million odd jobs to beautify my home that’ll keep me busy!! Trying to organise a cleaning company to do the carpets, kitchen, bathroom & conservatory ………………… everything’s just a wee bit grubby🤢 apart from the 3 newly decorated rooms! He should be finished tomorrow🙏🏼😊😊.

@jaifaim, yes, Yes, YES!!! Whatever time you spend with your dear maman now is priceless, in what I hope is the very, very distant🤞🏽 future, you’ll want just 1 minute more!😥 When I think of the days I would say “I’ll visit mum & dad tomorrow”, I think I should have said I’ll visit mum & dad today AND tomorrow😥, c’est la vie, what I had was precious, what I didn’t have ……………….. I didn’t have anyway. The house purchase palaver is very emotional at the moment, they would have been so proud, very happy and of course, eager to offer advice & decorating tips down to the location of the sofa!!🥰🤗🥰 💔

@merryapple, yes the 7pm munchies are 100% boredom based!!

Sending some positive vibes your way @molij. As you said, stay focussed …………………… it’s nothing until it’s something. And it may not be anything!!💪🏼💪🏼

Ok, today has flown by, time to get ready to leave work ……………… 51mins & counting!!!😁😁

“Families are like fudge – mostly sweet with a few nuts.”

    second post

Well, crap. I was determined to stay cheerful despite how tired and awful I felt…when the “tired” part of that popped into my brain surrounded by neon lights.

    Yup. Positive for Covid.

So now I won’t bother to feel guilty for sitting and knitting all day with some fun TV programs to entertain me…but I’m sure tired of being sick, and am losing my determination to stay cheerful, LOL!

    Day 13 11am Tuesday NZ NFD 70.7kg

    Morning all!
@jaifaim Your mother must be very proud of you and your siblings. You are taking beautiful care of her.
@stitchincarol NOOOO!! That raspy voice is so distinctive of COVID… Make sure you keep up with both carbs and proteins esp with a temperature. Covid is very efficient at cannibalising your lean body mass.
Enjoy knitting if you can concentrate… That lovely fair isle will be ready for the cold months hopefully with two sleeves!! I have finished spinning my silver Gotland wool but I am a little short for a jersey with cables which is what I wanted to make… I have approached the sheep owner in the hopes of getting more of the same fleece and she is looking. I need about 1.2 or 1.3km minimum and I have finished up with 0.948km… I might have to knit it it on larger needles with less cables… or cast on and make a band for the sleeves and body with darker wool… Hmmm!!
@molij I hope your test results turn out to be fine. Remember, like @flourbaby says, it’s nothing until it’s something!! Just keep riding your bike and enjoying the fresh air!!
You have reminded me I need to go buy some cream too!! The icing is melted chocolate, butter, icing sugar and black coffee… I very rarely ice cakes for obvious reasons.
@snowflake56 That’s right! Mirabelles are plums!! Such a pretty name for them. I make plum jam with star anise, plum and brandy jam and bottled some or as @stitchincarol says, canned them in glass ie bottled!! When I need to cut back the calories I make vegetable soup, which is quick, easy and filling. I know you’re not keen on vegetables but maybe you could add some rice in to thicken the cooked vegetables and blend everything up???
@flourbaby You sound lovely and excited about moving in. I imagine you looking for a gorgeous art deco table and chairs for your dinning room!! It’s a very elegant design period.
I have just purchased a large vintage Turkman red wool Persian rug with black and white for the sitting room at auction. It took me ten+ years to find one at the right price and size and colour way. It was super fun looking!!
@northgeorgia I have my fingers crossed for you to break the 230 barrier!!!
    Big Hi!! to @bert1802, @fatrabbit, @metatauta, @brightonbelle, @at and @excelsior12309

    Consistency and Control to all!!!

    Day 13 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

@merryapple – is that a challenge? I can be VERY competitive 😛 You wouldn’t want to take me on at Scrabble either 😅 Zucchini & chocolate?! 😳

@molij – sending you good vibes for your appointment 🤗 Laundry isn’t my favourite job either, so I drop it off & pick it up the next day. I was even toying with the idea of chucking it in an Uber, but then I relented & did the 28 km round-trip.

@stitchincarol – oh no?! Wishing you a speedy recovery 🤗

Gotta dash. I’m attending a 4 hour art/mosaic workshop thingy this morning, & it’s a half-hour drive to get there. It might be fun…

    Day 13, London, UK, FD

So the result from a weekend of NFDs was ever so slightly delayed!!! 2lbs up and NOT happy!!😡 I have to be realistic though, I’ve only managed 1 successful FD this month because I started a bit late on Day 4, so I’m keeping the faith and I WILL have 2 successful FDs this week, the fridge is groaning under the weight of eggs so I’ll have no excuse!!💪🏼💪🏼

@merryapple, my furniture has been in storage for nearly 4 years, had it had the usual wear & tear I could justify new everything!!! As it is, I doubt I’ll need to replace anything other than my bed for a while yet, unless I suddenly come into money, then my frugal nature will take a backseat & I’ll spend, spend, spend!!💎🤑💎🤑

@stitchincarol, I hope you recover soon, I think you’ve suffered through the worst of it without knowing!!! Sending some healing vibes your way, just take it easy & make sure your DH is at your beck & call!!😂😂

    Onward & downwards folks!!💪🏼💪🏼

    Day 13 UK ??

Just a quick check in , back later than expected yesterday but a good nights sleep and I’m raring to go , thinking maybe a fast day but not sure if that’s doable , maybe I’ll try and if it’s a fail I’ll do one tomorrow

I’ll catch up on posts this afternoon ☀️

    Day 13
    Ireland – CD – 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

Hi all, I am happy with my Monday FD.
A few good walks yesterday and an early morning trot on the beach today. No scales here so in blissful ignorance this week.

@molij I’m so sorry to hear you have an urgent follow on… I do hope it is nothing sinister and as the others have said try to focus on your daily routine and don’t worry too much… I know it is far easier said than done…💕

@stitchincarol oh no… I did wonder if it was the dreaded Covid but many people are not testing now and didn’t want to ask 😬 I hope you rest up and eat well as @merryapple says … hopefully you will be over it soon.

@merryapple we are but we are so happy to do so… she is full of love and although not totally with us she knows she is in her safe and comfortable home 💕 Alzheimer’s is the longest goodbye.. I know many of you have walked this path (most recently @flourbaby 🥰 they would be so so proud!) so you understand and I hope I never come across as if I am complaining… I am so so so blessed to have this time. 💕

@snowflake56 how was your dancing?💃🏻 Love the word mirabelles far more than plum 😂

@funshipfreddie ah stop!!! Uber the laundry to its destination – that’s the best I’ve heard yet 😂😂😂😂😂

@northgeorgia keep at it! You’ll crack it and @brightonbelle it’s great to see you back. ⭐️

    Onward and downward ⬇️
We rise by lifting others 💕

    Day 13 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 230 lbs. Oh so tantalizingly close, but a few ounces holding on. It will happen 🙂

Still congested, but like my weight…things are slowly improving LOL

Day 13 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

I’m trying to pretend I’m far better, but I just refreshed my browser when I meant to click on the other tab, and so lost all that I’d typed already.

So instead of trying to recreate any of it, I’m just going to report I’m slowly improving, and then sign off and pick up my knitting.

Perhaps I’ll feel like chatting later.

Day 13 North Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 NFD

Thank you all for your messages of support. I am trying to stay positive as best I can. It’s not helping that I am going to my sisters on Thursday until Tuesday. I think the distraction will be good for me but I am worried that I might miss the phone call. My neighbour is going to check the post for me incase my appointment comes by letter.

@northgeorgia glad your weight loss is improving.

@stitchincarol so sorry you have COVID. I did wonder. Hopefully you won’t feel ill for too long. Enjoy the knitting and TV.

@jaifaim blissful ignorance about your weight is good. I didn’t get on the scales last month and I am not going to this month until the end. I get so disappointed when I don’t see a loss or if I see a gain.

Hope everyone has a good day x

    Days 12, 13 – USA/TN – NFD

    Day 13….florida….NFD

    https://youtu.be/B-KDDHum3cg?si=Qjsy3z5x04RarjQa

I a bit behind in posting but I lost another lbs this week. Slow steady wins the race
Lots of flooding with the tropical storm, my prayers to those who are suffering because of the aftermath she left behind.
Above is the link for everyone on the sound waves I am listening to at night in hopes it will help in my efforts to lose a few lbs.

Well I am off, in Orlando this week for work and meeting family down here on vacation ( they live way up North less than 10 miles from the Canadian boarder)

    I’ll catch up soon

    Day 14 NZ NFD 70.8kg

@funshipfreddie Interesting article! I did the math… The participants lost 1kg every 8 days over 2 months… Whew!! I’m happy to hear that fasting improves the axis between gut bacteria (microbiome) and my brain!!!
Now to Scrabble!! If only you were closer!! Have you ever played naughty Scrabble?? Whatever word you put down you have to define it in naughty terms!! It’s hilarious what people come up with!!
If I can get to 69.9kg by the end of the month I’ll be very happy!! It’s possible and🫰probable if I stay the course…

This is a wonderfully moist cake if you like denser cakes!! It’s popular here when the zucchinis in your garden suddenly and unexpectedly turn into marrows!!
The icing at the bottom makes too much. I always mean to halve it but forget!!

    CHOCOLATE ZUCCINNI CAKE
    170C
    24cm cake tin
    Bake 50mins

    Cream
    125g butter
220g or 1 cup brown sugar
100g or 1/2 cup white sugar

    Add 3 eggs

    Add 1/2 cup yoghurt
    1 teaspoon vanilla essence

    Sieve and Combine
    300g or 2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup cocoa (Valrhona is best)
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon mixed spice

Plus 3 cups (350g) grated zucchini

Sprinkle on top 1 cup chocolate chips
    Or Ice (see below)
    Serve with cream

    CHOCOLATE ICING
Melt 100 grams chocolate in a double saucepan. Cool
Beat 40 grams butter till smooth. Add to chocolate
Add and beat 2 cups sieved icing sugar

@flourbaby I’m frugal by nature except with cooking gear!! I used to buy coveted kitchenware to reward myself for loosing weight… In hindsight I should have been rewarding myself for keeping it off!!!🤣 Having said that, I do cook everyday so it’s been worthwhile for me.
@bert1802 Well done!! A lb is a lb or a block of butter!! Enjoy meeting up with your family. I have been across that NE border into Canada several times and its bringing back lovely memories.
@molij Could you possibly use your cell phone number for your appointment??
    @northgeorgia 💪 Tantalizingly close!!
@stitchincarol Take it easy… Isn’t there a song about this?!
@jaifaim Nothing like blissful ignorance!! It does help to focus on choices rather than scales!!
@brightonbelle You sound lovely and energised!!

CONSISTENCY and CONTROL to one and all!!

    Day 14, Germany, NDS

I couldn’t post yesterday morning, a Windows update blocked the computer. I had such a busy day, ballroom lesson, sports lesson, computer club and bowling. Today it’s just line-dance for me. It was very warm everywhere except at the computer club, outside it was 33°C, we don’t have that very often. We picked the first 8 kg of mirabelles, small yellow plums. It will be hard to pick the ones higher up on the tree, we’ll see.

@funshipfreddie I’m reading the food rules by Michael Pollan at the moment. Perhaps I should just stay at the weight I am now, my body seems to want it? It’s our line-dance day again, have fun.

@jaifaim Time spent with parents is time well spent, without them a large part of our own history is gone. It’s the same with friends, my best friend for 41 years died 3 years ago, we shared so much time together and I still miss her so much. I agree, mirabelles sound romantic, way better than plums!

@stitchincarol I’m sorry to hear you have Covid, I hope the worst part lies behind you now. We eat the mirabelles but give most of them to friends and neighbours. One year we had 48 kg, this year we have about the same I guess but most of it we can’t reach.

@molij That’s not good news, try no to panic (harder done than said, I know). I find the waiting time the worst, as soon as you know what can be done, you can move on and concentrate that. Why don’t they call you on your moble phone? My motivation to lose weight is bit lost but I’ll just go on as I know it’s good for my health to do so.

@merryapple Yes, mirabelles are small, yellow, sweet plums. I’m not fond of rice either, I only eat it in nasi goreng. I do eat vegetables but I way less than I should. Go for the 69.9kg, you’re so close!

    Have a nice day everyone!

    Day 14 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

Mad weather here?! Yesterday it was a toasty 27 C. Winter is back today, max 15 C + gale-force winds 🥶️

The mosaic making was fun. I can’t believe how fast the 4 hours went. A stunning place too. I think I might make it a regular Tuesday morning activity. I’m very proud of the coasters I made 😅 It was just me, & about 15 females! I said to them, ‘so I guess the other guys come to the evening class?’. They all laughed & one of them said, ‘you’ll be bringing ear plugs next week’. Some of the stuff they’re making is incredible; some of them have been going there for a decade. There was a lot of free food there too, cakes & pastries. I was tempted, but… 😇

@merryapple – thanks for the recipe. I’ve never played ‘naughty scrabble’ – but I can imagine 😂 17 days to get below 70, easy peasy! 💪

@snowflake56 – I’m sure I’ve read at least one of Michael Pollan’s books. Can’t remember which one though. His golden rules are- eat REAL food, not too much, mostly plants’. Excellent advice. You’re at a health BMI, about 23.7? So if you’re happy with how you look & feel, then why not? Just stick to your FDs for the health benefits.

Gotta get ready for 🕺 Happy Hump Day! 🐫

    Day 14, London, UK, NFD,

Yesterday’s FD was epic!!! I was so busy at work that I managed to swerve lunch and took my soup home for dinner, closing the kitchen at about 360 cals. I must get around to using those eggs though! Perhaps tonight’s dinner.🤔

@brightonbelle, your mojo is positively glowing!!🌟

@jaifaim, it never seems like complaining, I love to hear about your care for your mum, it warms my heart!🤗🤗🤗

    @bert1802, a lb is a lb is a lb ………………….. in a month it’ll be 4lbs!! 🥳🥳 & in a year 52lbs!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

@merryapple, I think for me the rewarding comes in shoe form!!! Although, now I have a garden, I’ve spent a FORTUNE on garden ‘stuff’……………………. And I haven’t even moved in yet!!!🤣🤣🤣

@snowflake56, the new garden has 2 very laden plum trees, one with what I believe are Victoria plums(?) deep purple slightly smaller than a lime, and another pinky red variety, not as sweet and a bit smaller. I’m going to have to identify the varieties properly at some point before the birds (and me) scoff the lot!🤭

@funshipfreddie, I forgot to comment on your considering choosing “Uber Laundry” …………………… the height of decadence ……………………or laziness????!!!!🤣🤣🤣 I really need to retire, just so I can try line dancing and now mosaic making………………… I’m green with envy!!!

Must dash, the pile of work on my desk is NOT going to do itself!☹☹☹

“Remember that happiness is a way of travel – not a destination.” – Roy M. Goodman

    Day 14-No. VA USA-FD 800
Weather having a little “cool” break with temps in the 80’s but much lower humidity. My fasting has been a bit raggedy, but weight is stable, so there’s that. I will do a more controlled fast 800 today.
@flourbaby, how is the painting of the new house coming along? That will brighten things greatly. Then you will surely look at some of your furniture and say, “oh, I can’t live with THIS old thing!”
It is exciting to have a new garden, too!
@jaifaim, your mom is indeed lucky to have such a caring family.
@merryapple, the recipe for the zucchini cake sounds delicious. I would have to go buy some in order to make it, however. I do remember as a child growing them and finding the gigantic ones that did not seem to be there the day before, and then WHAM–a 15 inch monster. My father used to say, “Plant the seeds and stand back!”
@snowflake56, we used to have plum trees, but they never yielded much and what they had often were misshapen by disease or bugs. We didn’t ever spray them, though, that might have helped, but I didn’t like the idea.
@stichincarol, I hope you are feeling better today. Stupid Covid.
    Down we go!
