I hope this is what you meant!!
I’m heading to bed but can set up a sheet tomorrow

    Day 1 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 236 lbs. Successful WFD yesterday before my biometrics this morning. Need a good reset month!

    Day 1 North Wales NFD

Hi everyone, I have been reading your posts every day even though I have not been checking in. I have enjoyed reading them. I have been fasting every Monday and Thursday when I have been able to. The Operation was successful and I get the results on Thursday. I have been feeling extremely tired since this operation. I think my body is still recovering from the operation in October and having had this latest operation just three weeks ago I think my body is saying I need to rest more and recover. This operation had damaged my vocal cords and I have been struggling to talk. The surgeon assures me that they will recover but it will take time. I intend to do this month as best as I can. Take care everyone. Xxx

Here is the link to the Spreadsheet for Astro April @lilymartin – I’n going to try and join in regularly this month and my apologies for going AWOL during the March Challenge – thank you to all the regulars for keeping it going – you know who you are 🤗

Day 1-No. VA USA ‘Joining the challenge for this month!

Day 1 – Rural Nebraska, USA – WFD

“Hunger is not an emergency” is going to be my mantra today. Got lots done yesterday, and ended the day feeling as if I accomplished nothing. Gonna do some more work on tax bookkeeping this morning before I head out to teach piano lessons.

Have a grand one, everyone! Oh, and thanks, @merryapple, for getting everything set up (again 🥰)!

    Day 1 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

    Thank you @at & @merryapple! @lilymartin let us down – again…? 🤔

About me:- David, 63, originally from Manchester, England. Retired & living in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Been 5:2-ing/IF-ing since 2014 after watching Michael Mosley’s documentary, ‘Eat, Fast & Live Longer’. I joined the Challenges after I quit working in 2018. I do basic 5:2, having around 600 – 700 cals on FDs – one evening meal – and I have an eating window of around 12 noon to 8 pm – two meals + a snack – on NFDs. Currently weighing 71.2 kg, BMI 22.

Wishing everyone a Stellar ⭐ April Challenge. I’ll copy the ‘rules’ & abbreviations for any potential newcomers.

    Pocket List – Day 1 🍓
    @stitchincarol – WFD

These monthly challenges were started by @coda in May 2016 and have been going strong ever since. Goals can be overwhelming when viewed as a whole. But by breaking them down into small achievable pieces, we are able to stay focused and motivated to accomplish our goals one step at a time in bite-sized monthly challenges.

There are no rules, but as a general guide, here are some tips for any new people:

    1. Posting – This is our only true rule: please start each post with the day of the month, where you are, and if you’re on a fast day (FD), non-fast day (NFD) or controlled day (CD). We’re located all over the world and in different time zones so it helps us keep track of which day we’re talking about, who else is fasting with us on a particular day etc. Look at the various posts, and you’ll soon see the pattern, and will learn how useful it is for reading.

    2. In your first post, please introduce yourself to the group – this helps us to get to know each other, which is especially helpful for newbies. Perhaps say something about where you started, your journey so far, what you’re aiming for or how you are benefiting from fasting. You might like to include your starting weight or your goals for the month. But you don’t have to – share only what you are comfortable sharing online.

    3. Spreadsheet – below is the link to the March Spreadsheet – It’s in alphabetical order by username. If you find it helpful, you can use it to record and track your progress as well as keeping track of how others are doing. It can help with perspective, accountability or planning. And if you need help just ask – there’s always someone happy to help. But you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. It’s just another tool you can use if you choose.
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17-IBPQOxK5UBUK-Vx7pqINE0bJqNaUSTrky_EqH0vNU/edit?usp=sharing

    4. Frequency – Some people post daily, others check in every few days. Some are brief, others are long and chatty. If you’re posting for a second time in the same day please head your post e.g. Day 1 – 2nd Post. Past history shows that posting every day truly does help with motivation for staying on track with your goals, so please don’t feel shy about suddenly posting daily; we love new members!

    5. Content of your post– Comments or questions, complaints or celebration – anything you’d like to share with the forum. Recipes, tips, tricks and bright ideas are always welcome. Remember: we all have good days and bad days, days we fall off the wagon or days when we are hanging on by our fingernails, days when our mojo deserts us and days where we feel completely in control. So DON’T GIVE UP – whatever it is, you are not alone!

    6. Community – This is a worldwide forum so there’s usually someone online. We all do our best to offer advice, support and solidarity.

    7. Pocket lists –A ‘pocket list’ is a list of the names of people who are sharing the same goal on a particular day. It’s great psychological support in mentally keeping that list in our back pocket, knowing we’re not alone. Anyone can join a pocket list or start a pocket list. Typical pocket lists are for a FD but in the past they’ve been used for people doing daily exercise or planks, or DTF (dry till Friday).

    8. 5:2 basics – answers to many FAQs plus top tips:
    https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

    9. The “rule”. The F word (FAIL) is prohibited!! We all stumble in our journey – it happens. But acknowledge it, think about what you can do next time, and continue. We’re all here to help!

We tend to use a LOT of abbreviations in these posts. Here’s a guide to some of the more frequently used ones:

    @ccco

I hope everyone is having a lovely day! I can’t believe it’s April already but I love Spring!

    Day 1 – Ireland 🇮🇪 -FD

    I am baaaaaacccckkk!

It’s been a whole year since I last posted, and about the same length of time where there have been no FD’s and not really caring either. A year ago my head was not in a good place. I slipped away from this WOL for a time.

I also lost this IPad (which I only used for posting on this forum,) and then found it, battery dead, a couple of weeks ago. When I recharged I went straight here and was so happy to see familiar names still here chattering away. So I told myself 1st Aprl for the restart.

It’s my mothers anniversary today so a good time to get back in the mode of health and weight loss for a future better me. Plus I tried on my motorcycle gear in readiness for our 2025 season and I had problems with the Zips!! Operation Motorcycle Gear is ON!!!!

I am 57, F, live in rural Meath just outside Dublin with my DH, we used to have a beautiful cat Missie, but sadly we had to let her go over rainbow bridge last May (still heartbroken over it), still working in Finance, quite a few major things happened in the past year but thankfully no health issues, my Dad at 88 is still going strong….and surprisingly, although I am 30lbs more than I want to be for goal, I only gained a few lbs while on my year hiatus.

I did ZBC yesterday and had a protein dinner, and today I fasted right through until 16.30 where I broke my fast with my homemade kefir. Drowned myself with water and herbal teas. Going to have a small chilli dinner. Have not felt deprived at all ( which was my issue last year.)

And the mantra “Hunger is not an emergency” is my motto for this month ☘

So I am back, feeling ready for this, and so glad you guys are all still here. I am on the pocket list

Gotta dash, line dancing day 🕺

    Happy Hump Day! 🐫

    Day 2 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – 16:8

Fasting until later today, not sure when I will break the fast but will keep going until I feel the need. Great to be back!!!

Ha ha @funshipfreddie, I had seen the camel emoji yesterday on my iPad when writing the post and knew it had a reason but could not remember what! Then I see your post with Happy Hump Day 😄 So one hump or two ? 🐪

Thanks for the welcome back @stitchincarol, @brightonbelle @funshipfreddie…..it’s like slipping on a pair of comfortable slippers coming back to the forum, all so familiar, all so good, I feel I know ye all so well over the years. @funshipfreddie off line dancing, @stitchincarol still busy busy busy with piano lessons and other things….ahh it feels like home. ☺️

Hunger is not an emergency. 💃

    Day 2 – Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

    Day 1 – FD

    156.4lbs

Hello all! Great to be hear and to see the team effort to get April up and running…

I went looking for the usual intro yesterday to post it here but then noticed @funshipfreddie had posted it 👏👏👏 and then promptly got caught with work and didn’t even get to post my own intro. Life 😂

Welcome back @daffodil2010!! So great to have you back with us after your turbulent year. 🤩

@molij rest and recovery is so important- wishing you only the very best. 💕

    My intro for any newcomers:
The first challenge I joined was October 2017…and I’ve been intermittently fasting in all senses of that phrase 😂 since. Sometimes it’s hard to do but you fall off and you just climb back on again… 🧗‍♂️

My name is a little play on words as I am a french speaker so “J’ai faim” means “I’m hungry” but also stands for Just Another Intermittent Fast And I’ll Maintain…it makes me smile 😃

Maintenance is haaaard! But glad to be at 156 ish now… after tricky months – I’ll get to 155lbs again this month and ideally down to 152 this year – then aim to bob between 152 and 155lbs forever and ever. 💪

I love being outdoors even in our lovely Irish weather and cycle, walk, swim in the sea but I’m trying yoga classes and other mindful exercises these past few weeks as I work through the grief of losing our beautiful mum in February 💕.

I stay away from alcohol 🚫 most of the time and have reduced added sugars ✅ and eat gluten free 🌾 because of intolerance symptoms – no gut issues – more gluten ataxia symptoms for me 🤕. My little icons help me to stick to clean nutrition. I’m also not trying to keep the cholesterol down.

But….. life is for living and like others I tend to have one blowout (EFS) day a week where I might have some treats like crisps etc.

Ok off we go happy humpday all.

    Onward and downward ⬇️
We rise by lifting others 💕

    Day 2 NZ NFD 70.6kg

Apologies for my radio silence… Like @lilymartin I had IT problems, thanks to the constant upgrading of software… It drives me nuts – change for the sake of change… I have already managed to lose this morning’s post because I accidentally closed the window on my iPhone… Enjoyed reading all the chatter from last month.

I can’t shake the extra holiday kgs and am still over my no-go line of 70kg… I think I need to actually feel hungry when I eat rather than going by the clock. I have been eating well – loads of lovely autumn vegetables and fruits, esp persimmons, fejoias and guavas from the garden. This could be a volume problem!!

I’ve done the hard yards in the garden these last two days doing autumn pruning and clearing the neighbours’ invasive vines… It is so dry here that I have had to water my drooping tree ferns but the weather is about to turn with an “atmospheric river” sitting in the Tasman Sea between Oz and NZ. The sky is low, the light silvery and wind gusty. Check out windy.com and you’ll see what we’re in for…

@molij So good to hear you’re through your surgery and are on the way to putting it behind you. I’m sorry to hear about your voice. Some of our ICU patients used to have a similar problem. Resting it and steam inhalations were the main recommendations, I recall. If it doesn’t improve by a couple of weeks, ask to be referred to someone who can have a look at your vocal cords.
@daffodil2010 Welcome back!! You did make me laugh describing your motorcycle zip scenario!!

    G’night one and all!!
    Great to be back!!

    Day 2 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 239 lbs. Gastroenterologist appointment this morning, then a work potluck lunch. Tomorrow will be a FD.

Day 2 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

My weight is at 157.0 this morning and I’m trying to work out what’s happened. I haven’t eaten well, but I didn’t think I’d eaten so badly to weigh that much after a successful WFD. 🤷🏻‍♀️ On the other hand, I did eat that badly two weeks ago, so maybe that’s catching up with me. I’ll just keep on keeping on.

The negotiating on the house is at a successful end, and we’re close to simply being ready to close, which will be on Friday, April 25.

@lilymartin and @merryapple how frustrating your tech issues had to have been, and @merryapple, that’s some serious wind that’s coming your way!

    Okay, back to taxes…

Day 2 NE England IF 16:8

Hello everyone, and @daffodil2010, nice to meet you!
Here we are in April already. March proved that I am very good at maintenance, but I should still be losing! I think the issue here is, after my recent blood tests showed I’m not longer pre-diabetic, I became a little complacent and let some of those old ingrained habits creep back in. So in April I am aiming to be more aware of that and make more effort to keep on track.

    Day 3 NZ FD 70.9kg
Crap! Just lost my post and have to go out…
    Something to do with editing…

    Day 3, FD, Aus

I’ve been so bad posting regularly of late. That must change!

Nice to see you back @daffodil2010!

Wishing you a speedy recovery @molij and that your voice returns quickly.

    This one, you mean??? 😇

It’s a FD except that it’s a dear friend’s birthday and we’re going out for lunch… hmm… the road to hell is paved with good intentions…
@stitchincarol So great you have found a lovely house with what seems to me not too much effort. Your open plan upstairs is going to look very chic with a grand piano in it🤣
@Iona72I’m with you – more EFFORT required!! It’s toooo soon for maintenance eating… 6kg to go…
@funshipfreddie The article is suggesting 4:3 is the successful way to loose 7.6% of body weight over 12 months…🙁I did throw in a few extra FDs on my downhill slide, usually to compensate for a big eating day… but I❤️eating like everyone here!!
@jaifaim It sounds like you had a lovely local holiday and are feeling restored. We are neck and neck 70.9kg =156.4lb!! I’ll race you to below the 69.9 / 154 mark!!
Liberation Day is here… It looks like NZ is getting 10% tariffs.

    Day 2 – USA – NFD

Greetings, everyone! It’s great to be in Astro April now! I lost 3 pounds in March, and I intend to do better in April. Finding that spark to make it happen is challenging these days, but I still try! 😀

I read posts daily, and I’m trying to catch up with responses now! 😀

@funshipfreddie – Regarding the licorice twigs, they arrived! They’re like wooden sticks from a tree branch. I think I’ll go back to sugar-free gum. LOL! I strongly agree with your comments: “Goals can be overwhelming when viewed as a whole. But by breaking them down into small, achievable pieces, we are able to stay focused and motivated to accomplish our goals one step at a time in bite-sized monthly challenges.” Well said!

@brightonbelle – The Pontefract cakes sound interesting! I hope your CD went well for you!

@penz – I sincerely apologize for not responding to you earlier. On Day 26 (March), you asked me about testifying in court. I’ve been doing that for so long, and speaking in front of large groups for so long, that it’s old hat! The uncertainty of when I will be called to the stand is annoying. One would think judges and attorneys would have schedules they adhere to, but they don’t. Testifying in legal matters is only about 2% of what I do. The other 98% is conducting metocean studies and writing reports for clients. It’s a lot of fun, and I enjoy it even after 39 years in this career field.

@merryapple – Thank you for setting up the forum for Astro April! Your autumn veggies and fruits sound delicious! I hope the wind has abated for you. I envy you heading into autumn and winter—winter is my favorite season, and summer my least favorite. I also saw your Day 3 post about losing a post. Frustrating! It’s happened to me a few times, too, so now I always copy mine before pressing send. The servers here are very unstable (sorry to be negative!). Definitely copy your post and paste it into Notepad or any text editor before pressing send—otherwise, it might vanish into the ether again! 😀

@northgeorgia – I’ll also be on an FD tomorrow as well, and looking forward to it!

@stitchincarol – I’ve noticed each time you mentioned ‘tax preparation,’ and I will say I share your pain. I just wrapped up my quarterly taxes. I’ll stop there and spare everyone because I could write a book about the annoyances of taxes. I hope your house closing goes smoothly later this month. 😀

@jaifaim – On Day 26 (March), you wrote: “It’s tough to stay focused but you’re really doing very very well and inspiring us as you go…” Thank you, and the same is true for you as well! I love your sayings: “Onward and downward | We rise by lifting others.” Wonderful thoughts and words to live by! I enjoyed learning about the meaning and different aspects of your nick. Very cool! 😀

@iona72 – That’s great news that you are no longer pre-diabetic. I like your dry humor with “March proved that I am very good at maintenance…” Believe me, I know what you mean. Yet, I know that just capturing that mental spark of motivation is all it takes to set significant weight loss into motion. I’ll keep trying.

@daffodil2010 – I’m sort of a newbie here, too, although I saw that you’ve posted here in the past, so welcome back! Your 16:8 sounds like a good plan. Happy IF-ing!

@lilymartin – Thank you for hosting Astro April! I know your tech issues were frustrating, but it’s cool to have you here and hosting! I look forward to a successful month with you and all IF-ers!

@excelsior12309 – It’s good to see you in the Astro April challenge with everyone! I wish you and everyone great success toward your goals this month!

@at – Thank you for maintaining the spreadsheet! I think I populate spreadsheets in my sleep! LOL! I will eventually join that with you and everyone who participates, but thanks again for maintaining it! 😀

@molij – You’ve been through a lot, and I certainly wish you a speedy recovery! I hope you receive great results on Thursday (tomorrow). Sending positive thoughts your way!

Best wishes to everyone for a great and successful journey during Astro April!

    Kind regards,
    Joseph

    Day 3 -Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

Morning all. Going to keep to 16:8 as much as possible, so nothing until my tuna and egg salad for lunch, then chicken for dinner. Cutting out the white carbs as much as possible too.

I need to catch up on everyone’s news, house purchases, health, Holidays, I have missed a lot the past year. Great to hear you are all still here though!! I will pop back in later after work to catch up.

@icystorm I was a regular on this forum from July 2017 where I lost 30lbs with this WOL, but gained it all back and disappeared in a huff this time last year 😆 Nice to meet you too.

    Later my friends.

    Day 3 – Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

    158 lbs

No idea what is going on with my numbers. 🤷‍♀️

@molij – I am thinking about you and hope you receive good news today 💕

@iona72 – fantastic that the results brought such good news for you but you want to stay there and not risk getting that news again? And you can do that 🤩 I might have misunderstood but if you still need to lose then I would say you have not actually been at maintenance but have plateaued? So you may be at a weight where you have sort of got stuck? Maintenance will be when you reach your goal weight and then stay on or near that weight.. I find it difficult but others here are managing it really well.

@icystorm – thanks! Well done to you and we will make big efforts this month 💪 won’t we @merryapple 🤩

@stitchincarol yes thanks I have quite a few holidays to take now as I stayed close to home for the last part of the year 💕 💕. Off to Wales tomorrow to walk some of the Pembrokeshire coast with friends from near there …and then will be cycling in May and maybe a bit of yoga after that we will see… Yes let’s chase 154 together!!!! 🏃🏽 🏃🏽
I’m not going to say who my money is on! 😂

@northgeorgia hope all goes well today ✔️
    Hi @daffodil2010 ☀️

    2nd post Day 3

Yeah!! @stitchincarol That’s it!! Thank you!!

I’m just watching Netflix’s Poisoned: The dirty truth about your food. OMG you all have to watch it… V interesting about E. coli, Salmonella etc and the role of the US regulators. I have never seen farming practices like this… NZ has outlawed high density chicken farming. The cattle’s situation nearly made me cry to see them living on vast feed lots right next to the lettuce farm… I now know to ask for a hamburger cooked to 155 degrees F in the USA and don’t eat Romaine lettuce…
    On that note… G’night!!

    Day 4 UK NFD

Quick check in , hopefully get time to have a good read of comments tomorrow on train home

    Day 3 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

@merry🍎 – NZ & the UK lucked out with the tariffs, compared to some countries anyway. S Africa got 30%. The Rand has sunk to nearly R 25 to the pound & R 19 to the US$. I don’t think it helps when we pretend to be neutral, yet cosy up to the likes of China & Russia. I hope you enjoyed your birthday lunch, without blowing your FD! 😅 Just saw your post re Netflix’s ‘Poisoned’. Sounds fascinating. I started watching the British crime drama ‘Adolescence’ last night. I tried watching it dubbed into Spanish & was surprised I could follow it. Brilliant acting though.

Going for a ⭐ stellar FD today. Despite maintaining successfully – so far – bad habits are creeping back in, not least my sugar addiction.

An interesting article about the shingles vaccine & dementia:-

Hi, day 3, SE England, FD. Newbie (ish).

I’ve been on and off here for the last 10yrs or so, originally bought the book off the back of the Horizon TV program and lost some weight through fasting (5:2 and 16:8 mainly). Long story short, have tried in the meantime some other methods (keto, LCHF, SW etc.) and although they all work in the short term, incorporating fasting seems to have the most impact. My struggle is with the post FD frenzy – need to figure out how to keep a lid on that. Hoping that rather than lurking here and reading all of your monthly “diaries”, by interacting and putting myself “out here”, I will find a way around it.

So, Hi from me and have a good day.

    Day -No. VA USA-FD
Joining the fasters for today. Welcome, ANiceCupOfTea! Many of us have had the ups and downs of trying different methods to control weight over the years. I like the IF method, and if I stick to the program, I have found it works, even as I get older and the metabolism slows down.
@merryapple, it is amazing we don’t all collapse from food poisoning on a regular basis! It is us vs. the various bacteria and viruses, all the time. Factory food production is upsetting to hear about and to see, I agree. Now that our new Health and Human Services director has endorsed using beef tallow in frying instead of vegetable and seed oils, I wonder where all the extra beef will come from?
I am not proud of our new tariffs, particularly on the unpopulated islands near Antarctica. Penguins must pay their fair share, apparently. Maybe not thought through, similar to the beef tallow!
@daffodil2010, welcome back and I think of you when I see all our lovely daffodils in bloom this time of year!
@stitchincarol, good luck with the new house. How exciting for you!
    @icystorm, your dedication is inspiring!
@funshipfreddie, isn’t it time for you to show a new mosaic creation?
Best wishes for fasting energy today!

    Day 3 – USA/GA – FD

Weigh-in: 240 lbs. Probably a FD500 today. I don’t like today’s number, but overall, things are starting to look better over last week. Now to keep the momentum going downward this month.

Day 3 – Rural Nebraska, USA – WFD

Even after eating yesterday, I’m down half a pound this morning over yesterday’s weight after a WFD. I was so upset by that number, and now I know it was either a very odd water-retention weight, or perhaps I should have stepped on the scale a second time to see if the weight changed. However, even though it’s better, it’s certain not close to achieving a 140s weight, so I’ll continue to do my best at diligence.

My best, however, keeps getting distracted by taxes and house paperwork. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ll be so glad when all this is over and we can simply face the stress of packing up and moving. 😂🤣😂

    Welcome back, @anicecupoftea!

@daffodil2010 You’ve mentioned “tuna and egg salad” before I realized, but it’s not something I’ve ever heard of or had. Do you mix it all up with a mayo dressing, or keep it separate and use an oil-based dressing, or what?

@northgeorgia When do you get the results of your tests yesterday?

Okay, off I go! Have a grand one, everyone!

@stitchincarol, paperwork – ugh! good luck with that. Just do what you can every day and I am sure the numbers will level out .😊 You must be so busy and thoughts going in all directions.
@northgeorgia, sometimes the numbers can be our downfall and not always truthful ! I hope the momentum keeps going this week and see where you are in 7 days.🤞I hope the Gastroenterologist appointment went ok?
@excelsior12309, glad to have you back. Interesting about the beef tallow !! It will be interesting to see how that pans out.🤔
@funshipfreddie – the vagaries of living in the country here in WA. Talked with the local Australia Post manager today ( where we get our mail). I had to buy something and he asked me to use cash. His EFTPOS machine has been down for a week now and because it is in the country no-one is interested in coming out to get him going again.
Poor man has not been able to do most of his business during the past week. So people have had to either wait or drive 40 kms to the nearest town !😱
Good luck with your stellar FD.😊
Hi @anicecupoftea and welcome. A lot of us have been in the same boat. 5:2 works and then some of us fall off the wagon and the weight comes back on….
Fasting is very good for the body generally
But I find that I have to be more vigilant on NFDs than on the FDs. So now I have FDs and CDs – trying to keep to my TDEE on the CDs certainly helps. And yes, posting on here really helps with accountability and can be motivating. Happy to have you with us for the journey.😁
@brightonbelle, glad to see you checking in.
@merryapple, thanks again for starting the thread. Yes it is very interesting to watch / read docos and articles about food. Makes me wonder how we get ourselves to eat anything !! But sadly, I still do and too much at times …..😲🙄
Sorry to read about your tech problems – tech will either drive me insane or be the death of me !!!😱😱🤬
@jaifaim,don’t worry too. much about the numbers, just keep on keeping on with 5:2 and see how it goes over the longer time.
@daffodil2010, welcome back !! I think our journeys have been pretty similar. Good to have you along and happy to hold your hand. Together we CAN do this. !😁
@icystorm, well done on the 3 lbs loss and hoping you find your mojo in April.🤞
@iona72, Aiming to be Aware April for you ! That sounds like a good start. We’ll help you.💐
@penz, I think a lot of us know how life happens and we sometimes don’t post as much as we would like. Let’s make Accountability April a better month for posting and checking in .😇
@molij, best wishes for a good recovery. I hope your voice returns OK.🙏Take it easy and rest and allow your body to heal in it’s own time.
So that’s a wrap from me today and hoping the tech keeps going well. 🤞🤞
Have a good FD to those who are fasting . Good decision making to all who are on CDs/FDs/NFDs.

FUNSHIPFREDDIE, I just read your article and I hope that research is correct. That would be so helpful. I have had the original shot and the two new shots, as well. Nevertheless, I got shingles during Covid. I do recognize that when the shot is offered, they say that the shot may prevent shingles and not that it will. I kept that on my mind because I also knew that stress can trigger it. Of course, we all know how stressful Covid was. And those tariffs are something else!!

@stitchincarol, congratulations on that weight loss. Every little bit helps.

ANiceCupofTea, welcome back. I have been here a long time and I like it here. Good luck in your journey.

Merryapple, I saw that movie, too, and you are right!

Excelsior12309, good luck with today’s FD.

I had such a busy day yesterday and, although I am still tired, I find that is exactly what I need. I never think of find when I am busy. I was a secret visitor to my grandson’s school class and read them a book. I and they loved it. It was so much fun and always a blessing to see how much my grandchildren love me. The teacher took photos. While weight wise I didn’t look bad, I look so old!
I don’t know when that happened!! LOL All the dieting and exercise I do won’t change that. I just have to keep doing the best I can!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

    Day 3 NE England NFD

@jaifaim You make a good point, I don’t class it as a plateau as I’m not really sticking to the plan, but as you noted, I’m not at goal either!🤷🏻‍♀️ and I have eaten rather too well today but I did do 23,000+ steps.
I really hope to do better over the next few days. We are going to visit our daughter in her new house at the weekend and will be wallpapering the nursery for her. That will keep me out of the kitchen.

    Day 4, NFD, Aus

Accountability April it shall be, @lilymartin!

I wanted to weigh this morning to see if I have retained the loss I experienced from being ill, but I feared the result. So I avoided the scales! Maybe next week after my Monday FD…. What a wuss.

I’ve got stable internet (thank you) but somehow my email address has got out there and I have recently started getting all sorts of US-based spam that does not get caught by my spam folder. Very frustrating.

Love the idea of wallpapering to keep out of the kitchen, @iona72. My windows are in dire need of washing… maybe I should try the same technique!

No need to apologise, @icystorm, we all get busy and miss posts. But thank you for answering my question, very interesting. And lucky you for having a job that you still enjoy after so long.

Well, RW&PN for me! Have a great weekend everyone.

    Day 4 NZ FD 70.5kg🔻

I’m trying a third FD this week after reading about 4:3 c/- @funshipfreddie. I’m off to a book launch this evening at the art gallery and EtOH might be involved along with nibbly food… I think I’ll prepare a salad to have before I leave.
It’s too wet for exercise but the good news about a windy weather front is that it blows through quickly. Tomorrow I’ll be out and up the cone!!
Hi and welcome aboard @anicecupoftea. We’ve all been there!!
@stitchincarol Remember your 1-5 hunger scale and eating when you’re quite hungry not v hungry. I might try this because I think feeling hungry prior to eating might help kickstart the downward slippery slope…
@lilymartin Thanks for the big post to everyone! How are you going?
@excelsior12309 The body’s defence systems are awe inspiring on a good day but nothing can cope with the consequences of those insanely bad factory farming practices…
Here’s a measured report on tariffs from RadioNZ if you’re interested.

@funshipfreddie I thought your sweet tooth was all to do with KitKats… How is the wee darling?
@penz I bought some yeast to make pizza with you in mind!!. But now I’m going out so I’m going to miss the joy of a🍕 and 🍷 night chez nous!!
@iona72 Great plan!! Wallpapering not cooking!! You’re inspiring me!! I’ve been thinking about painting my boudoir yellow with white trim. In the winter I have red sheets and duvet on my bed and in the summer, white.
Yellow is such a happy colour!! I’m thinking of you @daffodil2010!!
@ccco How lovely the children appreciated your stories!! You are a grandma so you can look older and wiser!!
@icystorm Thanks for your advice! @jaifaim tells me to do the same thing!! 3lbs is the same volume as 3 pounds of butter – not to be sneezed at!! If you’re making good food choices just keep at it and a Woosh will occur!!
@northgeorgia Hope your Dr has given you a clean bill of health. Your holiday sounds fab!! I have been watching Netflix Sth American Street Food with a sense of nostalgia since I spent time in the places they filmed in – Lima, Bogota, Oaxaca, La Paz, Salvador, but not Buenos Aires. So delicious!!
@brightonbelle Great you’re back and getting ready to get going again!!
@jaifaim Are you getting you going 🚲 this weekend?!

It’s the weekend!! Be WARRIORS 🤐 and have fun!!

    Day 4 – Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾

    157 lbs

A quick check in! Dashing to the airport shortly and so looking forward to seeing pals over there. 💕

@merryapple enjoy your book launch and any added extras! 🥂

I’ll not be 🚴‍♀️ this trip … have cycled this coast and love it so much so looking forward to hiking some of it over the next 5 or so days and hopefully we will have dry weather. If is such a beautiful part of the world – of course @molij thinking of you as I think of Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. Sending a virtual hug. .

Have a great day everyone and I will check in as I am on a bit of a roll and need to stick with @brightonbelle for the 👙 target and @stitchincarol for the 154lbs target this month.

    Slán!

    Day 4 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 71 ⭐

What a pocket list yesterday?! Double figures – it’s been a while since that happened. I achieved my stellar FD, & was patting myself on the back for reaching + 9000 steps. Until I saw @iona72 clocked up + 23,000! 🤯 A gold star for you! ⭐

@penz – accountability April – starting next week..? 😅 You’re funny! As for the spam mail – don’t just delete them. Maybe you already know this; but you should just move them to your spam folder. This will help your email provider better identify & filter future spam messages from the same senders.

@lilymartin – how did we ever survive without the internet/wifi?!

@excelsior12309 – I haven’t really made anything post-worthy recently. Just lizards, house-numbers etc for neighbours. We’re having a small ‘art fair’ later this year to mark the 40th anniversary of the retirement village I live in. Anyone who paints, draws, knits or does anything creative has been asked to exhibit and/or sell their creations. So I’m going to make lots of coasters & other knick-knacks to flog at the fair.

@merryapple – my sweet tooth IS all to do with Chunky KitKats. And anything else involving chocolate & wine gums. The KitKats were on special again recently, & I just couldn’t resist. I ate two in one day! The shame 😳 At least I’m resisting the peanuts, & I’ve been teetotal now for 2 & a half years! The wee darling – Boo Boo you mean? She’s fast asleep on my lap after putting away two breakfasts. I think I need to introduce her to IF 😅 A Friday FD?! Go for it! 🎯 💪

    @jaifaim – enjoy your trip! ✈

I’m off to Doppio Zero for brunch again. Happy Fri-yay y’all! 🍹

    Day 4, SE England, FD
Trying a back to back FD today – been going since Weds evening…. it’s really bizarre that after a certain time point, there is just no hunger at all – feel like I could go for days. Planning a stop tomorrow lunchtime though and then back to a 5:2 next week but not b2b.

Been thinking about triggers having read some of your posts – there are things I need to avoid to prevent the “bruce bogtrotter” effect once I open the gate. Honestly don’t think I’ll ever be able to moderate some items so need to just put them aside. Easier said than done.

Thank you for all of the welcomes, I’ve been lurking here for a bit so feel like I know you all somewhat – sorry if that seems strange. Just needed time before joining in.

Have a wonderful day, I hope the sun is shining wherever you are (insert sun emoji) – don’t know how to do this….

    Second post
No problem @anicecupoftea – some of us lurk from time to time too. Good to have you with us amd there is no judgement here. ☀️
    Enjoy your brunch @funshipfreddie 😋
You’re right it was an impressively healthy pocket list yesterday- well done everyone! 💪

    Day 4 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 237 lbs. The doctor visit yesterday was to gain access to the exclusive club (according to my attending nurse LOL): the colonoscopy screening club! Anyway, the appointment is set for mid-June. Now I’m off to the dermatologist. Same thing — I haven’t been in over 10 years (oops, time gets away) and I didn’t care for my last visit, so I’m changing back to the practice I saw about 20 years ago.

    Day 4 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

Yesterday was a very good controlled NFD day with two walks and lots of fluid…and this morning after my walk and leaping about to my metabolism exercise I am so happy to confirm a 3lb loss since Monday 😀

So happy was I that I decided to skip breakfast again ( I love breakfast and it’s not my natural state to not have it), and waited until lunch to have chicken, cucumber and black olives with little gem lettuce. Halo is shining. 😇

The weigh in was a round number, planning to move down to the next decade by early next week, must control myself this weekend.

And it’s the weekend. @penz with Red Wine& Pizza Night comes to mind 🍷 Ha ha.
But will be mindful and stick to a homemade chicken curry or something.

@funshipfreddie happy to hear BooBoo still going strong with you. I often thought of how the cats of the forum were getting on over the past year, there is also @flourbaby and BoBo and somebody had a Wilbur that ruled the house?
I remember my Missie daily, but no more pets for me. 😔

    Day 4 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 153.8

Whoop-whoop!! That’s the first time I’ve hit 153-anything since January, and more than compensates for the ugly weights I had earlier this week. I’ve decided to add a third FD to my routine, as @merryapple is saying, and as your article suggested, @funshipfreddie. This week, it will be Saturday, but my plan is to schedule it whenever it works in my life. So, @jaifaim, at least for this morning, I’ve blown right past the 154s!! And have a lovely time on your hiking trip in Wales!

@anicecupoftea I too have been astonished at how the hunger level is not necessarily reflective of what you’ve eaten. For me, it’s that I go to bed ravenous at the end of a WFD and wake up with zero interest in food, LOL!

@daffodil2010 Well done on your 3 lb drop this week! The dramatic results when first resuming fasting are very inspiring, aren’t they?

I continue to be buried in paperwork, both the bookkeeping I’m doing for taxes, and also the digital copies of my MIL’s will, her death certificate, etc (because we’re using the money from her as a large part of our down payment), as well as statements of our own…it’s truly daunting. Tonight we go to a lovely seafood restaurant in downtown Omaha, so a longer drive than usual, but we’re SO looking forward to it! We got a coupon for everything half-price, a one-week promotion to celebrate their new menu, so it was impossible to ignore the offer! Here: https://www.plankprovisions.com/main-omaha Yum, yum!

    Have a grand one, everyone!

Day 4 country west Australia NFD
On a very quick 2 day break with DS and family by the beach for 2 days so no FDs for a few days but then a definite FD starting next week.
@stitchincarol😇😇, well done on the 153. Long may that number continue !! Especially with all the crazy busyness of your life at present!
@daffodil2010😇😇for you too on your 3 lbs loss. Some of you are doing extremely well with your health and weight loss.
@northgeorgia 😇😇on the 237 lbs and also on being proactive with your health checks. I absolutely HATE 😵‍💫the colonoscopy prep but so worth it to get everything checked out.
@funshipfreddie, yes what a pocket list !! Well done to all those doing a FD. 😇😇 Halos left, right and centre today !!
It sounds as though you and the rest of the residents are going to be busy with making
lots of things for the sale. Hope your creative flair gets a workout !😊
Glad Boo Boo is going OK.
Don’t feel badly about the KitKats – they are delicious. Food is just food and you are vey good at FDs and B2B FDs so I’m sure a couple of KitKats won’t derail you !😁 No shame needed.
@anicecupoftea, as @jaifaim said, many of us have lurked with and without intent at times. But it is so good to have you join us. We all help each other through the ups and downs of this journey. 😊
@jaifaim, enjoy the hiking/trekking for 5 days. May you be blessed with sunshine, good company and lovely views.🚶🏾‍♀️🌞
@merryapple, good luck with the 4:3. 70.5 gs sounds pretty good to me 😇- looking to get in to the 70s myself !! Enjoy the book launch. A salad sounds ideal.
@ccco so sorry to hear your had singles even after the injection – it can be very painful, shingles that is.
How precious to be able to read to your grandson’s class. What fun times and so lovely.😊
    Have a good day everyone.😊

Merryapple, I read that 4:3 article that FUNSHIPFREDDIE sent us, too. It is tempting. I think I will do it from time to time. I have to be careful because I can get too tired, if I don’t eat enough! Good luck with your effort. Let us know how it goes. I also read your New Zealand article. I wanted to pass it on to my younger sister, who is a professor at the University of Maryland and a political reporter in D.C. but I wasn’t able to share. In any case, know that al of us here, as well as everywhere, are concerned about all of this. I hope this doesn’t last long. Even the price of second hand cars has gone up already, just like during Covid. My nephew’s car is old and he wanted to buy a new one but it is too expensive, even for an older one. He will have to dip into his education funds. He is saving to get his Masters and PhD. Also, thank you about your grandma comment. I am definitely enjoying being a grandma, plus they are among the few that still tell me out loud that they love me. They are so sweet and cute and never fail to make my day! Enjoy your book launch!

    Jaifaim, enjoy your trip!

NorthGeorgia, good luck with all your appointments.

FUNSHIPFREDDIE, I think you should exhibit at that art fair. I have seen some of those art fairs and was impressed with many of the projects I saw. There really was quite a bit of talent there!

Daffodil12010, it’s great that you are getting all those walks in. I haven’t been able to take any recently due to my renovations but they are done and I wil be back on the roads again! I love taking in nature during my walks. Also, congratulations on your 3 lb. weight loss!

That sounds great, Stitchincarol. That encourages me for my fasts.I have the same reaction to a WFD. Afterwards, my hunger is dampened. I don’t quite understand why but it’s useful. Good luck with all that paperwork. That can be daunting.

I hope everyone is having a great day today! 🤗

    DAY 4 NE England NFD

I was supposed to be fasting until lunch today but I just couldn’t resist breakfast, unusual for me. The rest of the day has been more controlled but I’m having a glass of wine this evening. Not quite so many steps today @funshipfreddie currently 16,926!!
The weather has been lovely this week and set to continue so hope to get some garden work done next week when we are back from decorating duty!
Have a great weekend all, stay strong. 🏋🏽‍♂️
