  • I’ve recently started a 2 meals a day fast diet. Yesterday I ate at around 6:30pm, after taking a 8 mile walk. Then today I have eaten a slice of toast for my breakfast and a frozen Chicken Kiev for my tea. I don’t consume fizzy drink or caffeinated drinks, I drink plenty of water throughout the day. I think I want to start skipping breakfast and just eat lunch and tea. What would the recommended hours between the two meals.
    Thanks.

    HI Alisha,
Are you asking for advice on how to eat those 500 calories on the 2 fast days as you do 5:2? (Just checking because a ‘two meals a day fast diet’ sounds like it could be something else!).

If that is what you want to know, the answer is that everyone works out what suits their life best. So long as you keep to under the calorie limit you can do whatever you want!

When I began I had a small bowl of porridge for breakfast, and a bowl of soup in the evening. However I just couldn’t cope without my many cuppas during the day, and they have milk in them. So now I just have cuppas through the day and then my bowl of soup in the evening.

A lot of people find skipping breakfast works best, and some people find it easiest not to eat anything on a fast day at all!

If you want to eat a lunch and a tea meal, it is completely up to you to decide how many hours to put between them! You might need to try it a few different ways before you work out what suits you best. Good luck with it!

I find it’s easier to push through the morning without eating, because I’m never starving the second I wake up. I usually push until 2pm, have a small lunch, then save most my calories for dinner at about 7.30pm. I usually aim for 450 calories on a fast day just in case. Have found it works fine for me, rarely go to bed hungry, and if I do I just eat a riveta (30 calories) or a bit of weight watchers bread (51 calories) then I reach my calorie limit and can sleep 🙂
