  • Well half way into the 9th week actually. Weight loss so far about 8 Kilos. I say about because it was nine kilos after last week but varies quite a bit for me during the week. Here is hoping that we secure the 9 kilo mark this week!

    Plateau.

First few weeks the weight loss was fairly steady but the last 2 weeks there doesn’t seem to have been much change(in weight). I am hoping to change this with a bit more exercise.

    Afternoons and evenings

The actual fast days are getting easier as I get used to them. Some strategies that I have found work are keeping yourself busy with interesting tasks. If I am busy I think less about being hungry!

Drinking plenty of water, mineral water, mineral water with a squirt of lime juice.

Side effects for me are generally ‘brain fogs’ and slight headaches.

Evenings present the biggest challenge when I used to snack. No more of that!

    Mealtimes

I do most of the cooking at home and have invested in the cook book (recommmended) I follow the recipes strictly but supplement for my wife and kids. They get the caeser salad with more chicken, a hardboiled egg and croutons. The fish stew comes with plenty of rice to fill them up etc. They are very supportive on diet days and are enjoying some more variety in our meals. My wife and kids have optimal height and weight.

We are slowly working our way through the book but favourites for the family are the caeser salad, spicy dahl, fish stew, salmon with beans and tomato.

I find most of the recipes that we have tried pretty tasty.

Breakfast for me is two boiled eggs and plain toast. I have not looked to vary this yet.

    Goal Weight

My goal weight is 78kg so overall I have 51 kilos to lose and it is going to take a while.

I will update once the next 10 kilos has been lost!

Good luck to all on the diet. Thanks for all your posts which have been very helpful to me.

Just curious about the brain fogs . Are you gluten free
? Or gluten sensitive? White or wheat bread?
Do you drink caffinated sodas on feed days.
And congrats on your loss so far. Glad for you.

Hi Sam. Re Brain fog. No I am not gluten intolerant or gluten free. I do have a coffee on fast days in the morning and no caffeine soda whatsoever on any day. I like mineral water with a squirting of lime juice on diet days. I don’t get hunger pangs at all so it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t have some side effects. What I describe as brain fog is a mild headache and some vagueness. Should mention that u drink plenty of water on fast days probably 3 to 4 liters. On non fast days I eat white and wholemeal bread sometimes multi grain. Cutting down on bread though.

Good luck with your fasting efforts Samm. This is one diet I have been able to stick to and hope it works for you.

So three more weeks since I first posted here and we are another 3 kilos down. Waist, neck, bust and stomach measurements have also reduced. Total weight loss so far is 11 kilos.

The real reason for this post is that due to my schedule I have been mixing up my fast days and this week I have just finished consecutive days fasting which was definitely harder but good to know that I can do it if I need to. The flexibility of this part of the regime is excellent as you can look at your week and vary your days if you have to and if you really need to, do consecutive days.

This is going to come in handy come Christmas which is on a Thursday this year. I am thinking that I will fast on Monday and Tuesday so that I am not impacting on everyone else for festivities over Christmas.

Hopefully I will be a few more kilos lighter by Christmas and then the challenge will be to not put too much on. See how we go and will report results.
