  • Hello there! My name is Cat and I am new to the forum 🙂

I have been doing to 5:2 for a while, but I was wondering if I could possibly ask for some advice.

I am going on holiday to France (mostly camping) for a month in a few days, and I am not sure how to keep up the 5:2.

I usually eat a big egg white omelette for my dinner, but I won’t be able to do this whilst camping.

Could anyone help me out with a sample daily meal plan that involves minimal cooking, or fridge use – but is very filling.

Thanks very much in advance 🙂 xxx

That’s a tough one. Do you at least have a cooler? Boiled eggs and vegetables like carrot and celery sticks, cherry tomatoes, etc do well. Maybe cottage cheese. Roast chicken.

Maybe meal skipping would be easier. What are you doing for food on non-fast days? Maybe just less of that?

We did a long road journey. Fasts were easy. Have basic salad makings (lettuce, carrot, tomato, cucumber etc) and small tins of fish (eg tuna on spring water). Salamis will keep unrefrigerated so are possible too. Just use a very small amount for flavour. If you can freeze a freezy block, heat sealed packs of smoked salmon are great too. A bag of nuts and some apples are other good standbys that travel. Just avoid the bagettes! 😉
In New Zealand, we would buy freshly smoked fish and add it to our stash of salad makings. 5 minute meals.
    Have a great trip. PVE
