  • hi, I’m new here and have a few questions if anyone has the time to answer.
I ate last night at 11:30 pm and today is my fast day, what time shall I eat for it to be a fast?
Also is semi skimmed milk okay?
I hope your all doing well, this is only my second fast day in a week and I found the last one very hard so hoping this one will be a bit easier .

    Hi Sarahjane83

    Good luck!

There are no absolutely set rules, so for your first few fasts swop things around until you find what works.

    Ill try to explain.

Work out your TDEE, its on the ‘getting started’ section. Some people just use the average 500/2000 caloies ratio, but if you are short and/or you are not active, you’ll get a better start using the TDEE ratio.

Once you have decided your calorie ratio, you can divide it anyway you wish, one two or three meals. As to what to eat, again see what is best at helping you to feel full. Protein is good. Read the forum to see how others do it.

You start with 400/500 calories might not seem a lot, and you will feel hungry, but drink lots of water, you might get cold, put on extra clothing, and you might get headaches, add a little salt to food. This has got to work for you, so persevere until you wotk that out.

You wont die of hunger, in fact you might be surprised that, instead of knawing our arm off, you wont even be raiding the fridge at 5am the next day.

Aim for a 36 hour window for a fast day, so perhaps have your last meal at 7pm next time, and aim to eat normally two days later.

Normal means eat what you like, but not as much as you like, try to stay within TDEE.

Read all the stuff on the site, and yell if you need help

    milena x
