  • Hi 🙂
I’ve just started the 5:2 diet, I’m on my second fast day and finding it okay (at the moment!)

I’m feeling slightly sceptical about the diet, I’m 5’2 and weigh around 9 and a half stone and I’m a size 10. Although my BMI says that I’m overweight, I don’t think I have too much weight to lose. I’d like to lose about a stone. I’m wondering if the 5:2 diet really works when you don’t have that much weight to lose?
I’m also wondering if the diet will really work if I treat myself to a slice of cake a couple of times a week on my non-fasting day as cake really is my weak point!
Any encouragement/healthy recipes to use for my fast days would be really appreciated!

    Thank you 🙂

we have started the program, as well, today. Tomorrow will be our first fast day. We have decided to start off with Sat and Wed as our fast days.
What have you prepared yourself on your fast day?
We love teas and tisanes. I suppose that any liquids consumed on fast days should not be calorific?
Hope your second day is going well.
From what I understand the cravings for those fatty sugary carbs will diminish as the diet progresses
    take care, Ladyfilosopher

    Hi ladyfilosopher 🙂
On my first fast day I made leek, pea and potato soup then had fish and veg for tea but I went to bed with a very rumbly belly!! Today I made a lower calorie soup and skipped the bread so that I could have a jacket potatoe with my fish and veg so I’m hoping that it will keeps fuller for longer tonight!
Good luck with your first fast day!!
I’m letting myself have two cups of tea on my fast days, apparently it’s 20 calories per mug but I’m trying to use as little milk as possible, anything to save my calories until dinner time!!
    Lily
