  • I struggle to lose weight due to an under active thyroid. Began dieting 3 months ago and lost 10lbs. Weight is now static and I need help and advice on how to move forward.

    Hi Lily:

10 pounds in 12 weeks is excellent. If you have not lost weight for a time period of less than a month, just keep on keeping on. This might help: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/on-plateaus/

    Good Luck!

Thank you for the note of support the weight came off quickly and I have lost nothing over the last 4 weeks. I have not changed anything re diet so should be losing but am not

I did the diet for about 3 months before learning I was mildly hypothyroid. Although my numbers indicated mild impairment of thyroid production, I was crazy tired. I elected to wait until my dose was regulated and I was biochemically euthyroid. As a bonus it’s much easier this time around. I lost about 10 pounds the first time, now I have not lost weight because I have also been doing weight training, but I have lost an inch off my waste doing the Fast Diet and exercising with weights three times a week.

Getting the thyroid medicine correct helped me to lose the weight as well. I continued to try to lose weight while the dose changes took effect. I was more successful once I had the right levels.

Thank you both for your replies. My dr says I am on the right level of meds. Perhaps this diet will help. I hope to begin on Thursday and then will add in Mondays
