  • hey everyone!

Im really new to this..so here goes! My names Laura, I’m 27 and I’m not that happy at the moment. My weight is really getting me down and Ive now decided I want to kick its behind and shed it! I am a size 16-18, and my goal is to feel more comfortable with myself! I would love to get down to a 12-14. I have a holiday coming up at the end of August, so really want to slim down for as much as possible for this.

Any tips/ tricks for fast days? I work in an office, and we are very lucky as we have a very cheap canteen where all the food is effectively free. HELP!

Thanks and congrats on how great everyone is doing 🙂

I only just started myself. Today is my 3rd fast day. Haven’t weighed myself, but I feel a little lighter. What works for me is to have milk in my coffee in the am (30 calories) and then nothing until about 1:30-2pm. Then I eat something really light, 1 or two eggwhites with pieces of broccoli (maybe 50-60 calories), or 1 slice of turkey bacon and 1/2- 1 cup of almond milk with small amount of cocoa powder and stevia (60-70). So essentially, I have about 100 calories throughout the day and wait until evening to eat the bulk of the 500 calories. I need to feel like I am eating something substantial at least once a day. I may go over 500, but not by much, maybe 550-575.
The following day, I’ll try to do no more than 1200 calories, next day about 1500-1700 and then rinse and repeat. I’m giving myself one day, Saturday, to have 1800-2000 calories. I also do relatively low carbs (helps with hunger I think).
I feel very confident that this will work because last year I tried calories staggering, never going under 1000 calories a day and lost 1 pound a week.
Good luck to you. Once your in the zone, the free food at work won’t phase you.

    Hi there…
started this about four weeks ago, and I have lost 3 kilos! I have about 15 more to lose. On fast days I tend to nibble on vegetable sticks (carrot, celery, cucumber, cauliflower, cabbage) with some hummus dip. Then in the evenings I have vegetable soup with some sort of protein, either a bit of chicken or lentils. This is working for me so far, so am pretty pleased about it. The best part is being able to eat what I want the rest of the time, but even better is the fact that it is changing my mindset to not wanting to binge as I don’t feel deprived…knowing I can have something has taken away the desire to eat more of something when I am deprived of it. Therefore, for someone with a history of bingeing, this is the way to go. I find fast days hard to get through, but I keep myself busy, and I always feel so good the next day, and so far have had positive news on the scale and tape measure! Good luck LauraKate, I’m sure you will reach your goal, and Josie, I like the idea of calorie staggering, might give that a go…I’m trying to stay under 1500 a day on non-fast days, but might give myself a day where I go over, and maybe go down to 1200 on a couple of days….watch this space!
