  • Hello! New to this and trying to learn as much as I can! Recently over-indulged in emotional eating with all the upheaval in my life and now have at least 50 pounds to shed. Tried many diets in the past. They work…. temporarily. I’d like to give this a fair chance and hope for better success.
So sorry to hear of the untimely passing of Dr. Mosley just when I was introduced to his revolutionary idea.
I was looking on Amazon to purchase the book but I don’t know which is the correct one. Is it the Fast Diet (revised) or the fast 800 diet? A little confused about this, any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

Hi. Tricky to answer, as both approaches can work. I started the Fast Diet approach 11 years ago and am still going strong on it. I understand the Fast 800 has a fairly tough initial 12 week period and then it goes on to a very similar idea as the original Fast Diet, albeit that on the two fast days per week you are allowed 800 calories per day, instead of 600 (it might be 100 lower for women).

There are some warnings about people who shouldn’t do the 800 version on its website https://thefast800.com/medical-disclaimer/

Personally I liked the steady weight loss I got on the original 5:2, losing 17kg in 6 months.

I’d read both websites’ descriptions of how they work to figure out which you might like to try. Sorry not to be more helpful.
