  • My name is Eva, and I’m a 47 yo SAHM in Sweden. I saw the TV show sometime late last year on Swedish television, and thought it was a fantastic idea. But – I was kinda sceptical. How could this really work??? But then 5:2 started popping up everywhere, and I though “Why not?” I’ve tried every other diet known to man. I had my first fasting day on Jan 30th, decided to make Mondays & Thursdays my fasting days. I skipped a couple of fasting days since then, because I had a fever, but so far I’ve lost 1.6 kg (3.5 lbs).

    I really like this diet:
    1. it’s easy to follow – rules are simple
    2. the fasting days brings me a feeling of cleansing
    3. there’s no MUSTs and HAVE TOs – if I need to skip a day, I just skip a day
    4. the magnificent feeling when you go to bed on a fasting day, you’re hungry, and you know – tomorrow I can eat!

This has been the stumbling block for me in every diet: the feeling that you will have to do this every day, you have to be hungry every day, and it’s forever. I guess this is forever too, but it’s so much easier to know you can eat tomorrow. I dream about pizza for breakfast LOL But when I get up, I eat my regular breakfast. In fact I think I eat less on the eating days after a fasting day. My body doesn’t crave so much anymore.

    I started on
    Your BMI is: 32.0
    Your BMR is: 1375
    Your TDEE is: 1650 calories
My BMI is down to 31 already. Lost a couple of centimetres around my tummy as well.

So far I’m very pleased 🙂

So tell me – when does the dreaded plataues normally hit you?

Hello Tanteva and welcome to the forums!!

congrats on your progress so far, that’s fab! re the dreaded plateau, well am not sure but it can happen anytime but everybody is different, and I guess it depends also on how much weight you want to loose?
good luck and keep us posted 🙂

    Hi Tanteva,
Well done on your weight loss, I am really keen to get to a BMI of under 35 so I can join a local health scheme where you get one-to-one support weekly. Sadly they reject fatties over 35 BMI which is a shame because it feels like we are a write off, unslimable, sure we need more support not less. I have lost two stone in the last year and one stone of that since January on fasting. 9 pounds to go to get a BMI of 35, that’s my goal. The forum is great though, someone always gets round to answering your comments and there are some very clued up people on here. Good luck. Enviously jojo
