Hi, I decided to give 5:2 a try due to the science and also because I think I’ve been on nearly every other diet going in the past. They all have longevity issues. However, 8 years ago I dropped 42kg by taking up triathlon training and just halving my food intake. 2 years ago due to a change in job I have not had time to run and then become depressed and demoralised. 30kgs are back after two years and I wanted to stop the trajectory.
I’m in week 4 of 5:2 and last week I did my first 4:3 (as circumstances permitted trying it). I’m finding it straightforward to do, I’m used to feeling hungry and used to having to pee all the time!
The forum is interesting but hard to navigate.
I’m gently upping my exercise on fast days and want to get back to running as that was a really good way to burn calories.
