  • My wife and are 66 and 65 years old respectively. We’ve each lost weight consistently on the diet; (with an 8 pound regain over the Christmas period). We’re back on track and to date I’ve lost 13 pounds. It was an 18 pound loss pre-Christmas. The diet is something we’re capable of maintaining indefinitely. Is there a reasonable expectation of a plateau level? A goal is one thing, but is there some level where the body actually says :” OK I’m happy here.”?

hi Moehair and welcome to the forum!!

well done on both your progresses so far!! I am no expert but yes I think a plateau is possible at anytime, I have been on one since roughly December, and I am beginning to think, like you said, my body is telling me “I am happy here” lol!!

happy fasting to you both 🙂

Hubby and I have also been doing it since July. He’s 68 and I’m 61. He is definitely at the point where the body has said ‘right that’s it’ and doesn’t need to lose anymore being in the best shape he’s been in since we married almost 41 years ago. I need only to lose another 3lbs to get to that (married) weight but I’d like to lose another 5. My body ‘likes’ to be 10st and whenever I’ve lost weight before and gone below that I’ve always managed to creep back up there. Good luck with your journey.
