  • Hi everyone,

it’s so encouraging to read how well everyone is doing 🙂

I’m another short (5′ 1″) chubster and have long struggled with my weight.

I started on the 6th January and have just completed my second fasting day ov my 5th week. Things seem to be going well, I’ve lost 6.5lbs, an inch off of my waist and my body fat has reduced by around 1%.

Things seem to be going well but I know myself too well… I need a buddy or too to help me stay on the straight and narrow.

    Thanks everyone 🙂

    Oops should have read two!

Hi Hilly66 and welcome to the forum,

Well done on your progress so far, great results!! Am sure you’ll find a lot of support on here, i have been doing 5.2 since july last year and so fat lost just under 10 lbs, its very slow but its ok, i am doing it more for the health benefits and the well being feelings i get when i am fasting 🙂

Good luck on your journey, keep us posted!

Hey Angie that’s fantastic. Has it become a way of life for you?

Hi Hilly – I’m midway through my week 4, I’ll be your buddy! I’m 10 lbs down already but I stacked the deck in my favor because the first time I weighed, my first week, I was holding tons of water weight because of my period. I know it will get harder when the weight loss slows down and the initial enthusiasm wears off. Maybe we can keep each other on track. 🙂

HI Hilly and Kilda, happy to support you both along the way – I’m at a similar stage to you – I am in my fourth week (doing 3 fasts this week and this is my 3rd fast – also fasted Mon and Tue). I’m also 5 foot 2 so the weight gain is very noticeable. I’ve dropped 7 pounds since Jan 13 and hope to drop another half stone in the next month!

Good luck to us all – and happy fasting!

Hey everyone, fab to have some buddies!

Little dragon 3 fasts – you’re brave. Done my two for the week. Did my second a day early this week just so I could have cake today! However my tastes seem to be changing – didn’t fancy ciabatta bread today for lunch today, just had chicken with salad. Did enjoy a glass of wine this evening today though!! So not a complete change just yet.

This week I have added fast exercise to the mix. First session I collapsed exhausted on the floor afterwards ( at which point my son decided to dive on top of me!). Ached a lot the next day but have to say it was so short am going to persevere. Will report back on progress.

    Keep going you two x

LOL, good for you! I haven’t delved into fast exercise yet – today I added just a little regular exercise into the routine. Just a 1/2 hour walk with the dog. Might or might not help with my weight, but the dog loved it!

I have noticed my tastes changing too, not wanting to eat as much. Something about the fasting has brought a change in my attitude toward food.

LittleDragon, how did it go doing 2 back to back fasts?

    Hi there Hilly
Also a shorty with a very long term goal of losing 50 pounds. I am really interested in the possibility of doing 3 days a week down the line like you mentioned Little Dragon but I want to give my method a real shot first. I have combined fasting with cutting out alcohol during the weekdays, banning all soda drinks and limiting my daily intake on my non fasting days to 1,650 calories.

Took me a month into my diet to be coerced into stepping on the scale for the first time in two years. At least now I will know if I lose weight!

Way to go everyone! I can’t wait to hear how you all do.
    Ann

    Hi Annichka,

ha ha my glass of wine was pleasant at the time but it didn’t really agree with me!! So it may be disappearing altogether!. Well done on cutting out the booze during the week, it’s so hard but it will be worth it.

Just imagine us littlies (or our taller pals), skipping out looking svelte and fabulous – we can do it.

That said I’m not setting any long term goals as yet, so often have tried and failed am taking each day and week as it comes, just hoping for slow but steady progress.

Hey Kilda, now there’s an idea, get me a dog. My daughter would be over the moon, pussy cat terrified of dogs, not so keen! Walking is a fabulous activity so keep making your dog happy 🙂

Home with my vomiting son today, so a bit of a challenge not to pick!! So far so good though.

PS Call me Gail – simpler than Hilly 🙂 x

Hi Hilly66/Gail – how has your week gone?

After finishing my fourth week of fasts, I’m officially down 8 whole pounds which I’m really thrilled with but can’t see the change in the mirror yet! I founds 4:3 this week fine at the beginning but Thursday, my last fast, was a struggle – I don’t normally feel weak and shaky on fasting days but I felt awful yesterday and couldn’t stop thinking about food. Normally I am fine but yesterday I struggled and had to go to bed early. Woke up this morning really glad it’s a non-fast day – had a big fruit salad for breakfast, a yogurt for a mid morning snack and a chicken wrap for lunch.

Was hoping that fasting an extra day would help shift a little more weight but I might weigh myself again on Saturday and see – it might take a few days to even out…

Good luck to anyone fasting today, do let us know how you get on!

Hello Ld, am unexpectedly home with my poorly son today.

Think I’ve had a good week. Am sticking with just the 2 for now, haven’t quite emulated your success but am very pleased to have lost 6.5lbs in my first 4 weeks and an inch off my waist.

At the moment I’ve been sticking religiously to the recipe ideas in the the book, though I am never touching Thai Fish Sauce again!!! It stinks and tastes equally bad too! I’m a week ahead of you but found week 4 the hardest so far, on my second day of fasting I felt light headed and wobbly. Have found myself going to bed earlier too.

Have found liquorice tea very helpful, it’s naturally sweet, so you don’t need a sweetener and it just takes the edge off in the evening.

I got the Fast Exercise book last week, read it from cover to cover and started on Sunday. Have done 3 sessions this week, am hoping that will help speed things up or at the very least help me get a bit more toned than my present rather cuddly self.

Weigh day is Sunday morning for me, will let you know how I get on.

    Gail x
